I toured here, and loved the community as a whole. The people were wonderful, and the assisted living portion was nice. However, The memory care unit, where my loved one would be had we moved there, was depressing to me. It seemed dark and very institutional. Brookdale was also a little farther away than I was hoping to travel.

Brookdale Dedham had a lot of the amenities we were looking for but the community was not as well kept as other communities we had toured. It was shabby and needed some updating and repairs. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. We chose another community for our current needs.

Bartlett Reserve was a nice community but the price range was way about what my sister-in-law could afford. The community is clean and the staff was able to answer our question. There was also the fact that they did not have any availability,

Brookdale was very clean and the services they provide seemed adequate. I did not get that at home feeling. The tour guide did not seem prepared. It was a very nice facility but just did not feel like the right fit for my mother.

This seems to be a fairly nice facility. It is clean and the staff and residents are very friendly. Our main concern is that this facility has more of a nursing home feel than my loved one would have liked, but we had an overall good experience with this Brookdale location!

This is nice a community, and our tour of it went pretty well. The staff was kind, and courteous. Everyone was friendly too my family, and myself. From what I saw the community appeared well maintained. It was pretty nice experience, but it was not the one for my aunt, and her needs.

Hard to get over the strong, acrid smell of urine in the hallway. Room is nice and does not smell. People are nice. Good value.

I was not very impressed with this community during my tour. The staff was very knowledgeable and kind, however the cleanliness of this place is seriously lacking. The bedrooms did not seem like housekeeping has been in there in a while and it was very messy throughout the entire building. They could use some updating and lots of improvement in there facility.

This place looked dark and dreary. The sales manger sounded like she was a robot, she may have used a script and it maybe was an off day for her. Otherwise the community is a nice looking place. I didn't see much residents doing anything but sit in their rooms. I did not like the dark atmosphere.

I was not impressed with the setup of Bartlett Reserve. It was a little confusing and difficult to get around. They do offer a pool. It looked clean during our tour and the people were nice.

Somerford Place looks good from the outside looking in. Here's our breakdown: Cleanliness is okay. Food is pretty good. Activities are good. There's lots of walking space. But it is a very expensive facility. The care is very inconsistent because caregivers are constantly quitting. This is really disturbing. They have only one or two caregivers for each section of up to 16 people. Most are incontinent so don't get diapers changed very often. There is a lot of yelling. There is little team work and lots of confusion.

This was my first community we toured. We did like that there was a nurse present most of the time. I felt there could have been a more formal place to meet and talk. We were in the dining room and I felt the woman was distracted as if we were keeping her from something or home.

I find it to be clean, and most staff is friendly (however the change over is incredible, including the management. It has changed 4 times in 3 years). The value is probably about the same as other places like this. They have an activities schedule and it seems good, but I have no point of reference because my mother has no interest in any activities, of course she is 91. I do like the grounds and the fact that the five buildings are all stand alone ranch style. There are 16 rooms in each building and they all have their own dining room/activities center, kitchen and frontroom. No place is going to be 100% great however, my mother seems to be quite content here.

First visit impromptu on Sunday afternoon. Greeted with smiles and very helpful CNA. Quick tour of very small unit. Nice staff, but older building and very small courtyard area. Common area seemed very dark. All private, very small rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Shower is old style tub that you need to step up over to get in. More staff to patients than most.

Less than one week in the place and services that were promised have not been given. Have not gotten answers to questions we have. Was not told weekends were a bad time to move in. The place seems to be understaffed everyday but especially on the weekends.

They have been very attentive and good with my Mother. She has advanced dementia. However, they could use more experienced staff especially on the weekends. I have even heard the staff (weekend staff) yelling at some of the patients.

Our experience with Emeritus at Pikesville has been somewhat mixed. My loved one is only here for a brief stay while he recovers from an injury, which is good because I don't think this would be a good permanent solution. While the staff seem friendly and helpful, the facility and the services they provide could all stand to be improved. The place seems shabby and in need of some renovations, and the activities and food could use work.

Our experience with Emeritus at Wilson Mountain has been somewhat of a mixed one. The facility itself is nice enough, it is clean and well kept and the staff have been friendly for the most part. However, I really get the feeling that they're more in it for the money here. More than once I have seen more well-off residents receiving preferential treatment, or getting their needs looked after first.
