The Director is very open, honest and friendly, and has a genuine care and concerned for her staff and everyone at the facility. The staff that I have worked with has been very caring and kind. And willing to listen and course correct if there is a concern. The staff and the nurses were very patient and helpful. Also in my dad's transition to their facility. It was not easy however they gave the comfort that was needed and communicating everything that was needed along the way.

My loved ones were previously residents at Cedarhurst of Troy and the experience was good for both of them there. The staff treated them both well. We had no issues, it was a good choice for them. I would recommend Cedarhurst of Troy to others.

Comments: Overall, pretty good! Recommend keeping a close eye on #4, (care services) if this drops to a 2 the family will be quickly looking for other solutions. Hopefully this has been addressed, but for a period of time, there was a burn pile in the back "yard" common area. A metal trash can/steel drum that was used for burning (sensitive) documents had tipped over and charred/half burned material was spilled out on the grass. I asked [name removed] wife how long it had been there and she said at least several weeks. That left a bad impression. Lastly, All very good things to say about the staff! Hope this helps.

The staff members at Charter Senior Living are wonderful, but when it comes to the meals those are not that great.

Appropriate staffing for the residents needs seemed to be in deficit. Lack of staff members understanding the care of the residents. My husband could tell a drop in the offerings on the menu by the end of the month. So consistently offering food selections and consistent staffing and cooking.

The staff is friendly and helpful. My loved one likes the meals and activities. The housekeeping good. The move in process was good. We do have some problems with phone connection. I would recommend this facility to others.

I feel the rent for the small room was high for the size. But I feel the cost of his care was reasonable.

My father is extremely happy with were he is. And the staff have been helpful when needed.

Facility is nice. Staff are very friendly. I really like that their restaurant hours are 7am-7pm and menu has a good selection. They have so many activities for the residents. Great place! The only critique I have is that my dad has been there for 1 year and they have changed Executive Director's 3 times. That's not a good thing for an organization to have so much turnover in that little of a time. It's hard on the good staff, the residents, and their families.

My Mom did not avail herself of any activities, though she was invited and encouraged to both by family and staff. She didn't care for the food and she is NOT at all picky. That would be her biggest complaint. The Bosses and the CNAs were delightful to work with. The RNs were almost always agency nurses, so they were not as invested as the other staff members. The Director of Nursing was great as was the Facility Director and Director of Marketing. All very helpful! Communication was good, but was almost always initiated by me or my siblings. Housekeeping was fine, no clear schedule that I could determine. They were going thru a renovation of the public areas, so it was occasionally a little messy, but that was to be expected. I would recommend this facility to anyone who had long term care insurance or loads of money because they do not roll over to public aid. So if you outlive your money, you have to move. That's why my Mom is no longer there. But for someone with good money, it's a wonderful place!

The residents are treated with respect and care. Communications are inconsistent at times. The staff is wonderful and caring. The move in was easy. The food is good and plentiful. I would recommend CSL.

Generally, the staff are very good. My sister likes the staff. However, when calling about a billing issue, I was to receive a call back (tried twice.) A few days later, finally did get a call from the financial person. Move in was good. The rent was quoted incorrectly at lease signing, by their staff. But I think the rent is okay and a good value.

Most of staff are good. Some appear to me to be marking the clock. I'd recommend to get different levels of activities that would be of interest to the various levels of residents.

The move in process left a lot to be desired. It took they forever to fix the broken drawer in my mom's room and the broken toilet paper holder and the cable still does not work almost two months later. I don't think much of the doctor/nurse practitioner. I asked them for a letter from the doctor to take to the social security office about a month ago and am still waiting. I had to cancel my appointment with the SS office. Also, I had an appointment for a care meeting 3 days ago and am still waiting to hear from them. I think the meals are great. My mother seems to like everything that they serve. The assisted living side is gorgeous, but the memory care side is kind of bland and cold. As far as staff, they do whatever I ask, however it is hard for me to understand them. Most of them speak with a strong accent. I don't think they communicate with the family as much as I would like.

I would tell them, that facility is NOT for a diabetic person as my uncle is. Their care for diabetics is not good at all. I chose Charter because of the friendly staff and the facility's atmosphere.

The staff is attentive and friendly. Facility was chosen to due its logistical proximity to family members.

What our family likes the most about the Charter Senior Living of Davidson community is the staff. they are very friendly and super helpful. The community is always kept up decorated and it is welcoming. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend Charter Senior Living to other families.

I would say the staff is amazing- very nice and accommodating. The move in experience for my mom was good. She says the food is decent, she likes that they have choices at each meal. Housekeeping hasn't been consistent, which is the only drawback. I would recommend Cedarhurst of Rockford to others, for sure.
