Charter Senior Living

Charter Senior Living of Davidson has a very pleasant and fun environment for the residents. Areas that they could improve on: Clean the room, wash linens, make bed and also better communication between hospice and the facility. Overall it is good and I can't even imagine how big of job it is taking care of so many precious people.

-Showers in hallway -Nice outdoor courtyard, Common areas -Have a nice lounge room for morning coffee -Nice art room -Main activity area crowded. -Residents nearly all in wheelchairs -Cable extra $20 -Fall detection in bathrooms

Management is very responsive to call and email requests but the nursing staff is not so responsive to emails and calls. The transportation services have been excellent. Meal services and cafeteria staff are very friendly and they reach out to my dad if he hasn't shown up for a meal or will put food aside for him if he is not at home during mealtime.

The nurses are wonderful. A special nod to [name removed]. The caregivers are very nice. Like most places, I suspect they are understaffed. It can be difficult to get my friend to the phone. The biggest problem for me is a lack of communication. I feel too much is done or decided without my input or approval. Overall I would recommend Charter Senior Living of Hazel Crest, my friend is content there.

Cedarhust is very attentive to the residents needs and comfort and the staff is very friendly. They offer activities such as; daily exercise class, bingo, sing-alongs, weekly shopping trips, etc.

It is an excellent place for your loved one. Everyone is friendly, and caring about the residents. They have activities available for anyone who wants to participate. In fact, my aunt has also moved into Charter because after looking at other places she felt this was the best and priced appropriately. The only issue is their meal situation, that they need to work on being timely, and food at appropriate temperatures.

This turned out to be perfect place for Mom. A little more nature and countryside instead of city environment. She loves the apartment. She loves the trees, birds, and wildlife she sees out her window. They need to work on the food service a little bit.

It's a very nice place. Admin are friendly, informative, and will get an answer for any questions you have. In the four months our family member has lived there, they have had quite a turn over in their caregiver staff.

They have had changes with the food, and they have a new chef. The value for the money is good, and it serves our needs. We picked this community, because of the location, and price point. They go above, and beyond to help my loved one. My loved has a nice view. I would recommend to other families.

We picked this community because, they were proactive with trying to get us in. I would recommend to other familes. The staff treated my loved one well.

The Cottages appears to be a good value. The staff are extremely friendly and very attentive. They're very organized. They send out messages constantly, keeping you updated with what's taking place. You always know who to call and can always reach someone when you need to. Whenever we got there to visit, we're happy with what we see. Our family member's bed is made, and she is properly dressed and looks well cared for. We're concerned about the cost if she has to move to memory care, but we appreciate that they gave us the option to negotiate that price when the time comes.

They are all very friendly. There is a slight room for improvement with the care services, and it would be nice if they cleaned, the individual bathrooms more often. They have a ton of activiites, but my loved one does not participate. I am very happy with the care. I like the small building and cottage approach. It's a smaller number of residents, and it's more personable. It's clean , new and does not smell. I would love to see more fresh veggies, homemade foods, and more nutritional options.

My family member received very good care in this facility. The smaller size of the facility and attentive staff helped him to feel very comfortable at Cedarhurst. I would recommend this facility.

It's a very friendly place. They put a lot of effort into it.

As far as enjoyment they have a good amount of social activities and there is a good amount of room to move around. As far as improvements - they could work on improving the overall quality of the meals and the food choices. We were also told that when the weather is nice the residents would be able to walk around in the outdoor areas, but we have found that not to be true. So we wish they could have better access to the outdoor areas, but we still would recommend this community to other families.

My mother has been in several facilities/communities, very friendly staff and environment, well maintained, food healthy and appetizing and most of all the employees seems to treat residents with tender loving care.

Overall my loved one likes it there. The staff are helpful with things he can't do. And they're good at communicating with me to keep me informed.

The Cottages of Fox Lake is pretty expensive but it is a very nice community. From what we have heard from our loved one the meals and dining service seems to be quite good. When we do come to visit we see different activities going on for the residents and our loved one is more active then what they usually were. We really appreciate that when we make suggestions to the staff they actually listen to us and then follow through with the suggestion. We like that our loved one has their own apartment with a little kitchette in it and based on our experience so far we would recommend this community to other families.
