Very service oriented - the right choice for our situation. Activity and level of engagement throughout facility towards individuals are evident through their monthly training. Facility is older and on 4 floors (I preferred 1 level) but they do a good job with what they have.

They all seem to care, Mom has a hard time, but they all seem to care and I am so glad.

Positive after 7 days.

Nice staff that seems to care about my mom. She appears to be happy and is getting the care and socialization she needs.

Talked with Rebecca. Building will not be ready until July or August due to weather. Small community with about 45 residence. Do not use pendant system but said she could get one. No price on pendant. Asked about laundry service for personal items. She said that could be included as an option in the care service level. Not sure how that would work. Rooms are way smaller and more expensive than Magnolia Springs or Sunrise. Would only save me about $500. Rebecca is very nice and easy to talk to. Only has 6 years in the industry. She will be running the facility.

The location was a big reason we chose the community, and the cleanliness, we liked the activity levels of the residents. They seemed to be up and moving about and not just sitting around. The price point was also a factor. We liked the food, it was good, I tried it. The other residents and their families also seemed happy.

I have just placed my mother in the Sunrise facility. She has only been there for10 days but so far it has been the most peace we have had in the last 8 to 10 months of her care. The staff at Sunrise are very friendly.

Amy Orlando was so gracious and flexible in accommodating my Dad's needs. All the staff we met was very friendly. Bickford did all they could to fast track his move in and make the transition as easy for us as possible.

We almost moved my mom in here. However, when they gave us the list of care charges for medication management, it added up to be an extra $1200 a month. Also, if she were to have gone on Medicaid, she would have had to move to one of the two Medicaid apartments instead of staying in her current apartment.

Very nice place, but requires too much money.

Very lovely facility, nice room sizes. The director of sales, Shawn, was welcoming and I liked how he stressed that they get to know their residents. He said they will try hard to make J feel at home should he chose to live there. A big plus is allowing pets.

Does not accept medicaid

New and only around 30 residents overall. Nice common areas and rooms. Front door is always locked. No front desk.

Visited Sunrise and the Director was kind enough to give me a tour although I was unannounced. This Sunrise facility has two sections for Memory Care and both are full as of today. If there was interest in being on a waiting list - the move-in deposit is used to hold the space. The third level of the building is a secured area for memory care. All residents are brought to a central eating area to eat meals. Rooms - though small and narrow, include a shower/toilet room and a sink and small fridge in the outer portion of the room. there is a smaller central television area. Many residents have their rooms "done up" by their families. As she said - the upper area appears to be more "quiet" than the back building. The back building was designed by a Doctor into four neighborhoods - within the building. The building is secure with lots of natural light and a wide hallway. The center area is for activities and has some wonderful cirular benches for residents to sit on. There are two wings on ground level - each containing two neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has it's own kitchen area and dining area. There is a Caregiver assigned to each neighborhood who is their consistent caregiver. There are 3-5 rooms to a neighborhood and outside the rooms is also a "living room area" with TV and sofas and chairs for residents to watch TV and "hang out". There are toilets in the rooms - but residents are escorted to a large shower area for bathing. Laundry is also housed in that room and there was a strong odor in that room - I assume from wet bedding or garments. Between the upper area and the back building - the back building "felt" like it allowed more movement and freedom. Both very nicely decorated and clean. Can handle all care except if a patient is on a full time feeding tube or ventilator.

Visited Bickford on a drop in visit and met with director. Place seemed very nice, no smells except syrup, clean, lots of sitting areas with couches. Presented itself as a "home" environment not hospital like. Dresses all patients and has them up and about. Memory care unit Ratio of 1:7 staff. full nurse on staff. Happy CNAs. 14 units for memory care. Like a family. Monthly fee is $5300+ - $6190 Level one or two rates. Does NOT provide any furniture..even a bed.

cost is factor. creson and unsolicited great care. patients clean and engaged with caregivers. long term caregivers. Needs to be looked at unannounced.

Very nice, upscale hotel feel. Rooms are all slightly different. Have 3 levels of care. It seems like they have processes that are followed which will ensure good care.
