This place has so much life. The people that live there seem very happy. The staff were so friendly and inviting. The rooms are big and clean. Can't wait for my mom to live there.

5 for all. The staff was very attentive and helped my sister get settled in quickly. She has normally been a very introverted person, but the personable staff helped her feel comfortable enough to start going to the activities and being involved. So thankful for that. [name removed] became close with a lot of the gals who did housekeeping and kitchen help. We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience

The help is very caring but there always short handed due to staffing issues. There food is excellent and good variety daily.

Bickford is a wonderful assisted living facility with great staff, great residents, and a wonderful community. The facility and grounds are well kept and I am thankful for A Place for mom for recommending this facility. My mom is now a resident at Bickford and is thriving. I can go to sleep well knowing my mom is in good hands.

Friendly staff. The care given to the residents is attentive and personal. I was surprised at how quickly everyone knew my resident. Food is very good. Activities are diverse and engaging. Room sizes are very appropriate.

Place was very nice but too expensive for my Mom’s budget. Staff was very friendly and helpful even after we decided she couldn’t afford to live here. I wish she could afford it but that’s just not the case.

Very clean- treated with respect- personal was very friendly- like how few residents are in the memory care. Nice rooms.

Bickford has been a wonderful home for my Mom. The 2 rooms are large enough and very comfortable with a big closet and ample storage in the bathroom too. They keep it clean and empty garbages several times a day. They change her bed every week and do her laundry. They just cleaned all the carpet in all the rooms. The response time when mom pushes her button varies tho anywhere 3 to 40 minutes, because sometimes they are short staffed but I just voiced my concerns and they said if will improve since they just did some major hiring. The food is very good and plentiful and they make their breads, rolls and some of their desserts homemade such as eclairs. They have soups everyday which my mom loves. And mom can get a hamburger or grilled cheese if she doesn't like one of the two main courses that are served daily. The nurses there are phenomenal!! My mom is the healthiest she has been in 3 years! Zero issues and she is more independent too. The staff takes care of my mom's insurance paperwork timely and no issues with reimbursement. And they reduced her daily care rate after 45 days because she was more independent. Lastly they have daily chair exercise class, ice cream socials weekly, movies, crafts, field trips, parties, a library, and puzzles. Hair dressers and nail tech only there every 3 weeks which is not enough. Nice large outdoor courtyard. Foot dr and dentist come onsite. Also, they give us key fobs, so Family can come visit 24 hours a day.

The staff have been very welcoming and kind. They have answered any questions about his care promptly . There communication with family members is very good. The staff keeps a close eye on any medical issue that may arise. They clean his apartment each week thoroughly. change sheets, and do laundry once a week . His trash can is emptied daily. He enjoys the food choices and the taste. Overall, we are very pleased!

Staff is always helpful & pleasant! I don't have enough kind words to say about them. Staff makes if feel like a family environment. My father likes the meals, it's always clean, he likes his studio apartment. There is always activities. He would like to see more outings or rides on the bus. And more activities on the weekends. I would definitely would and have recommend Bickford to others.

Looks like a nice place. [name removed] was very cordial and informative. She answered all my questions. What they had available just did not meet our needs. I've heard good things about Bickford.

Overall it's been a great experience. When I walked in it felt like it was a place where my Aunt would feel at home. It also felt calm. They are easy to work with. Staff are all great, and the level of care is excellent. Wide range of room sizes. It's a smaller place overall, which I like better. All on one floor with a beautiful courtyard. The building is very well maintained.

I wil give them stars. I got a call first thing on Monday morning. The assistant director [name remoed] was incredibly helpful was able to see me that same day and was able to assist in getting my father-in-law into assisted living by the following week. She went above and beyond to help me in a very difficult situation and I greatly appreciate that. She made an incredibly easy to work with her, and it was easy to fill out all of the forms as it was all an online application process, which was very helpful. I was able to get all of that done and submitted within a 24 hour. period. As it stands now, my father-in-law is secure and happy there.

My husband, [name removed], began his residency at Bickford of Bexley about two months ago in the memory care unit. At the time, he was only able to speak his native language, Russian, despite knowing four additional languages. The staff never let the language barrier become an obstacle. They went above and beyond to find creative ways to communicate with him, and Gene also found his own unique ways to connect with them. Through patience, kindness, and genuine effort, they were able to understand and appreciate one another despite the communication challenges. The staff at Bickford of Bexley are truly wonderful. I am so grateful for the compassion, patience, and dedication they have shown my husband and for the care they provide every day.

We took a studio apt as we are barely affording that. Food is very good. Cleaning is also very good. They came to his place to do the physical assessment. Lowered pricing to make affordable. Staff has been awesome as well.

Great staff, clean facilities and fun activities. Unfortunately it was too far away from family members for our mom. If I was choosing a place for myself, Bickford would be the place.

To be honest, my dad only spent 2 1/2 "good" days there before taking a fall in his room and going to the hospital only to return a week later on Hospice and he died 4 days after coming back. However, I will say, the staff that we dealt with while meeting for an intake interview, moving Dad in and then coming back after the hospital stay were by far the best staff we have encounter in the past 8 years of Dad being in two different Assisted Living places and a nursing home. They were all very friendly and helpful and genuinely cared about him. They treated him as if they knew him their whole life and went above and beyond what our expectations were of them. My only regret is that we didn't know of Bickford before A Place for Mom found it for us. (We live about 2 hours from Sioux City so not familiar with that areas assisted living places.) The room was very nice and comfortable. Dad used a walker and was able to maneuver in his room easily with no concerns of getting stuck anywhere. We opted to have the room furnished and everything in the room from the recliner to the bed was very nice and comfortable. The meals that were offered were very well prepared and delicious....we were able to eat with dad a couple different times he was there. The facility itself is nicely kept up and comfortable. The furniture is nice and suitable for an older demographic with chairs and couches not being so low to the ground that people can't get out of them on their own! Dad was in the memory care building and our minds were set at ease seeing all the barriers in place to make sure all the residents were kept safe in a respectable manner. I know my dad would have enjoyed being at Bickford had he been given more time but I do know he enjoyed the last days of his life in the best place that Sioux City has to offer!

We are so excited for my Aunt [name removed]. She was very hesitant about Assisted Living but your staff, food and beautiful atmosphere have made her very happy and content with her new home. Thank you very much!! I'm looking forward to seeing the atmosphere during the holiday season

He has the Maple room. Very spacious with separate bedroom. Sometimes he likes the food other times he doesn't The staff is very friendly and attentive.

Went to visit an elderly church member there last week. What a great place! Clean. Music playing in the lobby. The people working there are friendly and welcoming. The people living there seem really happy and happy to see me.
