Bickford Senior Living

This community just opened in April and the staff did a very good job showing us around, they took their time and they answered all our questions. There were a lot of amenities for the residents to choose from, it was open and bright and the staff was very friendly. It would be worth a tour.

I thought the staff were very friendly and did an excellent job with giving my dad and I a tour of their community. The community was very pleasant but they did not allow pets and they did not accept Medicaid should my father run out of money while he was there and I was looking for a community that would so that I would not have to move him once he was settled in.

The place is very nice mom seems to be happy there. [Removed] the new manager there is awesome. Mom is not crazy about the food would much rather eat my wife cooking. We feel secure in knowing mom is getting good care.

I have no complaints about the tour I had taken at this community for my father. The staff where on time to our tour and made sure to accommodate our needs during our visit. The facility was a lot smaller then a lot of them I had looked at but the only problem was they did not have respite available in the memory care unit.

The Bickford seemed like the kind of place we would need to bring in an expensive nurse for extra care type of place. It would have been more expensive and we really just wanted a place where we would know what we were paying.

I had a good tour of this community. From what I saw the community looked neat and tidy. Everything was well maintained. The staff I met was courteous and friendly. It was a nice experience. Everyone was very nice to my family and myself. This is a nice community.

The staff were helpful and answered our questions when we moved in. I do think they are a little under staffed. The food is good and the community is clean. They do not offer a lot of activities. I would recommend this community.

After touring several other sites, we picked Bickford because of the staff's involvement with the residents. My father in law was immediately called by his "Nickname" and included in talks, walks, and dining. When we noticed his clothes were the same as the day we brought him in to Bickford, the staff immediately suggested to my father in law some different clothes to wear for tomorrow. He is now sleeping in his bed for the first time in over 2 years and showering more frequently. My wife and I have notice his attitude is much more up-beat and his old humor is back. While its only been one week we're impressed with the changes.

They are taking good care of my husband and his needs here at this community. It is a very well-kept facility, his room is nice and clean when I visit. We have had some medication issues, as well as insurance problems. Other than that everything else is going well. There are activities offered. He is pleased with the food. It is a very expensive community. If you have the money for it, I would recommend it.

The common areas and dining area are neat and clean. There is all most always something going on the common living room with the residents. We've had some issues with the laundry being damp and not put away, but they have been working on that. Overall our family likes the facility, but we feel need to keep checking up on the ever day things. Like are they getting our Mother to go the meals, going down for activities, getting her cleaned up on a regular bases and so on.

This community was friendly, but when I first walked up, somehow I walked to the wrong door and noticed that things were hanging from the ceiling outside. It was not well kept up. It is sort of like an old fashioned small community. It is a little bit older than other communities. It was not bad, but not what we were looking for.

The staff is very friendly. They work very hard, especially the caregivers. They really work hard, but I think they are short staffed. I think from what I have seen that they are under new management, and I think their reputation is starting to go down due to budget cuts. They are having too few people do too many things. It's very homey. A good place with pets welcome, and a very warm and welcoming environment.

It been okay, there have been a couple of glitches, but those have been worked out. They have a lot of activities, and everything is clean and neat. There have been no complaints about the food. Sometimes the meat is a little overdone for her, some of the grilling and stuff can be a little overdone. Everyone is very friendly they bend over backwards to help you.

A family member toured this community, and said that is was the nicest of the ones we saw. However, the base rate was $5300 a month. If you need to add care, the price goes up from there... If the care needs change, the price will continue to go up. Too expensive, but very nice.

It was too small, it wasn't as spacious as Emeritus. That was probably the thing for us, my wife loves to eat out and it wasn't like a restaurant, it was just too small. The director followed up with me the most, he kept calling and when I told him I had made my decision he congratulated me on it.

They are a pretty good community. I wish they had more activities for the residents there. They could use more day trips off the property. Just seems like there is not enough to do. I would recommend this community.

Clean and well run smaller facility. Close to home

Somewhat of a small dated facility. Definitely needs an upgrade to include ventilation. Memory Care side is quite small. Not the home feeling I was looking for.
