Bickford Senior Living

We visited this community while looking into care options for a loved one. Sunrise of Bexley made a great first impression! The people here were friendly and helpful, and I thought they did a great job giving me a good sense of the community during the tour. It was a friendly, welcoming community, and definitely worth a look!

What a gorgeous property! The staff were friendly and helpful. No one was available for our scheduled tour but a med tech took over and did a great job. Residents seemed very happy and the rooms are lovely. Common areas are comfortable and luxurious. Unfortunately the price is quite high compared to other smaller properties.

The Director Shelly is very responsive and really tries to get my mom involved in activities. Any issues that have come up have always been resolved right away.

Amy Orlando was very helpful, compassionate and friendly with Mom and me. She arranged lunch with 2 residents who made her feel welcome and wanted. Mom really loved the more spacious apartment design, as she could more comfortably replicate her home environment. The staff seemed friendly and helpful. She enjoyed the food very much.

Overall we've had a good experience with Bickford of Peoria! The staff are friendly, caring people, and they take good care of the people who live here. The facility itself is a nice place, and always well kept and clean. The only issue we've had is that sometimes it can be a little hard to get a hold of them on the phone.

Overall things have gone well with Brighton Gardens of Brentwood, although there are a few things I think they could do better. The facility itself is nice, the rooms are a good size and everything is well kept and clean. The staff are all friendly and personable. However, I do think they oversold and under-delivered when it came to the move-in process. They did not provide nearly as much help getting my loved one integrated into the community as I was lead to believe. I think they could also stand to improve the food, my loved one often complains that what they serve is mostly heavy and greasy without a lot of fresh options. But overall we are pleased with the community, and they are taking good care of our loved one.

When my mom first moved there, it was amazing. Every single person came to introduce themselves. They went out of their way to get her included int he activities and feeling included and at home, meeting people and having all her needs met. Overall it has just been a very positive experience. Mom calls it her home, to the extent that she was even willing to sell her house because Sunrise of Rocky River is her home now.

It is a great facility and a wonderful place to have my mom. Right now their director just left on maternity leave, as has one of their nurses, so there is an issue with the consistency not being there right now, and that is making it more difficult than it would otherwise be for mom to get adjusted. They do have great food, the staff is super friendly, and mom feels safe and happy there.

Bickford did their best. Our loved one is VERY difficult and demanding. Everything was clean, the staff was good, and they worked very hard to take care of her while she was there. This just wasn't a good fit for our loved one. It's a good place.

Lovely setting, a warm community feel and welcoming personnel. However, the rooms were dark. The only window was in the bedrooms at the back of the apartment. Lots of light and sunshine are important to us, so can't picture Dad living in that kind of apartment.

This was a lovely setting for my 90 year old mother. More importantly the management and caretakers were kind and caring and worked with you to make sure they provided just the services your loved one needed.

I think they are just as good as any other of the other places. It's a safe, clean place. The staff is cognizant of all things, the don't overlook stuff, and they are easy to work with and very accommodating. The one and only thing that has been an issue for us is that they have residents with Alzheimer's there, and they have a tendency to intermingle with everyone. One of those used to be in the room we have, and they keep coming back like a lost cat, which can be a little disconcerting for new residents. They need to be more aware of that. When I brought it to their attention, they did try to take steps to take care of it, but it was an immediate turn off for her. Other than that, we are pretty happy with them.

So far it's going okay. The staff is very friendly. The cleanliness could be improved a little. My parents are independent so they don't really use any care services, but they have been quick to address any questions we have had. There are plenty of activities. They aren't real happy with the food. It's very bland, and the portions are very small. The service isn't the best either, when they have asked for something else, or a little more, it never comes. I would also really like to see someone at the front door. You are supposed to have a code to get in and out, but there is nobody there to monitor that and they can just walk out behind someone else, and it has happened before. I would just like to see more personnel.

They've done a great job overall at Bickford Cottage! They really went out of their way to help us make the arrangements and get our loved one moved in in a timely fashion. The facility itself is well kept and clean, and the staff are all very friendly caring. They take great care of the residents, and they seem to have plenty of activities and amenities to keep everyone entertained!

Nice enough - but no rooms in MC avaiable

Beautiful! And a smaller size that I like. It appears that each floor has its own dining and social area. They said that other floors can access main floor, but I don't see dad doing that often. Downside? They do not take medicaid so when he runs out of money, we'd have to move him again somewhere else. Very friendly and family feel.

At this point they are using a lot of agency staff, the permanent staff is very friendly. I think they have a pretty good variety of activities. It seems like they always happen when she is napping, having a variety of times they happen would be nice. Their food is okay, they give choices, there aren't a lot of choices, but there are a few choices. They try to accommodate the dining room is nice. It's not cafeteria style, it's a lot more elegant, almost restaurant like. Nice table settings. Right now they don't have a maintenance person.

The staff we met were very professional and empathetic to our needs. Very gracious and understanding of our families needs.

Overall they've done a good job here. The facility itself is well kept and clean, and they do a good job providing activities to keep the residents engaged and entertained. The staff are all very friendly and professional, as well. I have run into a few issues when it comes to communication. They haven't been great about returning calls, I usually have to just try them back if I'm not able to reach them. I also feel like my requests aren't being communicated, or they just lack follow-through.

Liked very much. Would definitely consider Animal around in common areas was wonderful. No smoking. Loved raised bed flower beds.
