Bickford Senior Living

This is a lovely community and they are doing a good job caring for my mother and her needs. I know she is safe and in good hands here. It is a nice and clean community, very well maintained. They have a very polite and friendly staff. There are nice activities offered for the residents. The meals are good. This is a very caring community, with very sweet people. I would highly recommend this community, it worked out very well for us.

The Bickford of Bourbannais is a great place to live. The apartments are bigger than others we had seen. It is a beautiful community. The staff that offered the tour were very friendly and kind. We were wanting something closer to family and this was a little further out than we wanted.

I am contented with the care that the staff is providing my mother. They are doing a good job caring for her needs. My mother is enjoying the variety of food offered. They do offer a variety of activities for the residents to enjoy. They could improve the activities by including more activities for residents with memory care like painting, indoor ball games, and crafts.

My tour of this facility went pretty well. I met with head of the administration, and he was very kind and informative. From what I saw the community appeared to be well maintained. The staff was nice and friendly as well. It was a very nice tour.

Bickford is beautiful but it's a bit small. I wasn't too excited to learn they had very few one bedroom apartments while the others were studio. I didn't tour a one bedroom but i did tour a studio and I'm sure my mom would feel claustrophobic. Other than that, its wonderful.

For the most part everything is working out pretty well. It is a good community, they do a good job with keeping her room and the facility well maintained. They have a very good staff here. She has tired some activities. They do accommodate her diet needs. So far everything is working out well.

My tour of the community went very well. I really liked the director, she was kind and very knowledgeable. It is nice and clean facility. The staff was kind and very helpful, they even stopped to help a resident. The food looked and smelled good. The resident wasn't very engaging, and my mother is a talkative person. It is a very pleasant community, just not the place for my mother.

I looked here when I was looking into options. I liked it but it was just a little too small for our needs, with only about 35 apartments.

He's been there about 45 days now. I've been really happy with the staff. They've been very caring, and they've kept me informed. Overall, I'm very happy with the community. They keep it very clean and neat, and have been very responsive. He seems to enjoy the activities they have. They do roughly four a day. I think the food is great. They offer two things at every meal. If they don't like the options, they have sandwiches and other things they can choose from. As long as they voice what they want, they're good. They do a really good job at trying to get people engaged. They've had music playing, they dance with the gentlemen that like to dance, they do a wonderful job of handling everything.

Overall our experience with Bickford of Urbandale has been a good one! It's a nice looking, clean place and the people all seem very friendly. They have a great activities program, and really keep the residents busy! The only real issue I've noticed is some occasional clothing mix-ups with the laundry service.

The feeling of this facility is homey and welcoming. Residents were out and about and staff were engaging. There was a nice enclosed courtyard with raised beds (standing height) for resident gardening. The bedrooms do not have actual doors within the apartments. We prefer to be able to separate the bedrooms from the rest of the living space.

Overall our experience with Bickford of Carmel has been a good one. I really like the care strategy that they use at Bickford. All of the staff, even the managers and other administrative staff, help out with the cleaning, serve in the dining room, etc. For the most part it works very well and all of the residents get a lot of attention and care! There are a few instances where a more tightly organized system would benefit them, but overall my loved one is doing very well here!

Very friendly personnel and more person-centered than previous facility. Price is similar to other facilities for assisted living. I would prefer a breakdown of services on the bill.

Single level building. Well laid out

This is a tough one. It looks like it was a really nice place about 10 years ago. At this point its a little worked over seems like it may be headed the way of Belvedere Commons in the somewhat near future.

Bickford of Middleton has turned out to be a really great place for Mom. She is still getting used to the transition but it's getting easier with time. The staff have been very welcoming and encourage the residents to do what they can as far as participating in activities and socializing with each other although they don't push them. This is a smaller community so we've had the chance to get to know just about everybody and their families! One issue we've had and the other residents warned us about is the fact that when Laundry is done everyone's clothes are mixed. In order to avoid this happening I may end up doing Mom's laundry myself. Other than that things have been great!

Overall I think they do a good job at Sunrise. It's a nice looking place, and the staff is friendly and professional. My one comment would be that the quality of the food can be very inconsistent.

The staff here is very attentive to the residents. Anytime you have an issue at this facility the staff is always on it and fixing the issue. The staff always make sure they meet the residents needs.
