Excellent experience in every way. Professional staff. Just be sure to communicate with managers about evening trash removal. If someone uses incontinence products, they may come in the middle of the night or wee hours of the morning to empty trash, but management can post a sign not to do that per family's wishes. Otherwise, very vibrant atmosphere.

I would tell a friend that, you need to go there every 2 - 3 days to make sure they are taking good care of your spouse or loved one.

There have been 5 directors in 3 1/2 years. Also, it seems like they have a hard time keeping an activity director, which means there are fewer activities and they rarely take the van for trips out. The facility itself is beautiful, and cleanliness has been much better in the past year. It is sometimes hard to get an answer to a question. Most of the caregivers seem very nice and supportive. I do not like the fact that they have added so many meds…….it seems like most of them are to keep residents calm (or sleepy).

Sadly it was the rate lock on the room which made it affordable - that was the main reason we chose Bickford. The staff being great was a bonus. They really do care about their residents.

The staff at Bickford house I would 99% of the time try to make sure you have everything you need as much as they are able. If you talk to any one person, that person makes it their job to follow thru and make sure you get what you are in need of. Highest of ratings to the staff at Bickford. They give their best and honestly care about the people they care for. They treat us like family. The cleaning of the building is well done and kept up as well as holidays decorated and cheerfulness for all worked at. We had a bit of worker shortage during the holidays, but the ones who were here gave their all to keep our meals served, our needs met and the unit cleaned and organized. I can't say enough good about the chef(food is yummy and if you don't like his menu, he will make you something else.) The same goes for our amazing maintenance man who willingly gives up his days off to handle situations that come up in any home or apartment. He not only fixes what needs fixing, he goes above and beyond in helping you with your needs he is not responsible for. He brought my groceries in for me once and put my water on top of my fridge, which would have been next to impossible for me and he just did it and kept going to his next job. Communication with my family has been excellent. They always take the calls and answer my family's concerns so they feel comfortable with me being here. I highly recommend living here. They are working on staff training and improvement and have a monthly meeting to hear the residents' concerns, interests and needs. That is especially high on my like list. I had one issue that I had a major problem with and after speaking up about it, it was corrected within 24 hours. I was highly impressed. Bickford, like any organization, is a constantly changing, adding new ideas, answering residents concerns and trying to give the residents here the best life they can have. My health has improved in all areas since my move here and I'm hoping it keeps up that way. I recommend Bickford for apartment living with help as you need it.

Great experience so far but it's hard to keep these places staffed. It looks and smells like a new house. The activities person is great and they have daily activities. My mom loves the food. There's a new assistant director that is trying to improve things. Everyone is super approachable. Housekeeping and laundry could be better. Hard to keep a housekeeper as well. They have pull cords in the room and the residents wear pendants. There's a key fob for family to let themselves in and out.

The best choice in the community right now. It is small but offers all of the events and healthcare support that we need.

I have mixed feelings about it but I think we're going to work out the kinks. Communication needs work.I picked it because it's fully staffed and close to my house

It has been a good experience so far. Communication is not consistent, but the staff has been wonderful to work with. I chose it because it was cozy and felt more like a home my father would be comfortable in.

I would recommend Bickford of St. Charles to others, however there is big staff turnover. The food is a huge let down, but they are going through changes so we will be patient. The staff is very nice and helpful. They are doing their best. It's expensive.

The facility has a homey feel to it and the community seems like a large family since it is not as big as many. We picked this community because it is nice, and a smaller facilit, that provides basic community services. We picked it for its location, availability and smaller size. I did not want mom to feel overwhelmed. She would have not taken advantage of activities offered by larger facilities.

We picked this community because of the location, price and tour with [name removed] was promising and accomadating.Community was in the process of changing management. I'm sure that led to the poor communication that led to my dissatisfaction with management.

A difficult experience adjusting to living away from family but I feel that residents and staff learn to care for one another and it has helped. When there is a problem they take care of it.

Friends recommended it. Overall I think it's a great place. I do feel like I need to monitor them to ensure that she isn't forgotten about.

The facility is very clean and well maintained. The staff and residents are quite friendly. Friends and outside medical personnel I have talked with speak highly of Bickford of Bourbonnais. The apartment size is actually larger than my mom needs. My mom has pretty late-stage dementia and doesn't receive much in terms of memory care. Most of the attention she receives is centered on her comfort and safety.

What we like the most about the Bickford of West Lansing is the staff. The staff members there are very caring. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.

The staff have been extremely friendly and helpful. Some of the staff sat in the apartment with our family as my dad was passing away which showed how much they cared for my parents. Some have found out what my mom likes and bring it to her (flowers, candy, hugs, etc). They will randomly come and check in on her to make sure she is doing okay even without her pulling her cord. They have enough activities for the residents to participate in.

As I get to know more of the people they seem to be very genuine and trying to do a good job. Compared to the other facilities I saw, they are the best for the money. All are over priced in my opinion. They have added more staff and are making good changes. I am excited about the future with Brighton Gardens of Brentwood.

My father moved into Bickford of Carmel just before the Covid lockdowns. This facility was a Godsend for us because they were understanding of both the physical and emotional aspects of care. They worked very hard to train the staff for my father's Diabetic Care.

We picked this community because, they accepted sliding scale for diabetics. I like that they have techs for each floor. They could improve on communication with the family, and the friendliness of the door greeters. Overall, I would recommend to other families.
