Bickford Senior Living

Overall, I have been pleased with The Rivers. Particularly during the recent ice storm and they're evacuation plan when the boiler broke. For the assisted living side, the food is much better than in the memory care side. But all of the staff, in either assisted living or memory care, have been excellent. The communication was a little bit lacking when they first converted to the new ownership, but otherwise I am still pleased with my choice.

We found Bickford to be very nice [name removed] is very welcoming. We chose Bickford as it met our needs for our sister: care, Montessori, and the rooms were a good size.

What we liked the most about the community is that everyone was helpful getting things set up and overall it was a good experience. We would recommend Bickford of Rocky River to other families.

Having moved in over the holiday two week timeframe There were a couple things that were a little delayed. Meals have been very good with a good variety rather than standard dishes that repeat all the time. Mom has enjoyed the meals. There is a reasonable variety of activities. She has liked all the staff that she has dealt with, and I've been very happy with them as well. The setting is lovely and it feels very homey. Her room was very nice and has a good set up making everything accessible. She even brought her sewing machine along.

The staff is amazing and goes above and beyond to make my mom comfortable.

Bickford is decent but has a difficult time with keeping cooks. The rest of the staff is very good, rooms are decent, and they have considerable activities for the residents. Like most all senior facilities the cost is enormous and will in the end take everything they ever worked for or saved.

The staff is very accommodating and kind although the facility is a little older I feel like the quality of the people in the building is most important. Our father had a very logistically challenging transfer, and Bickford helped us every step of the way.

My friend wasn't there very long before having to return to the hospital. The folks at Bickford in Worthington were helpful in getting short term placement.

Our tour of Bickford was very pleasant. It was quick as we did not have much time. The building was clean & inviting. The outdoor space looked like a great place to spend time when the weather is warmer.

We chose them because of the, Montessori approach to care. I would recommend to others.

They really are wonderful but like every other place we looked into they just don't do enuf to stimulate those with memory issues. The last think in the world that my mom wants to do is do sitter size or some exercise with a noodle she has no desire to do so, but they don't get her out of her room enough to go do other things I don't think and that's really frustrating because she needs to interact with people more but it's hard when you have memory issues because you don't remember all these people and you always feel like the new person and you don't remember what you talked about. I just wish there was a way for these facilities to have something for these people to do. I don't even know what it would be honestly that would be enjoyable and hold their attention. I don't know some little games or something some dice games my mom doesn't see well so somebody would have to do is keep score. She can roll the dice, but she is limited. But overall, I love Bickford House. They are good to my mom and they treat her well and she's very comfortable there and that says a lot.

Bickford gives a homey feel. Lots of cheerful staff around who appear to care about the individual residents. It may not be the fanciest place I toured, but if and when the time comes, it is the place I would choose for my spouse.

What we liked the most about the community while our loved one was there was that the nurses were great, however I was not impressed with the director she was never available when I had questions or concerns. Yes, I have recommended Bickford to other people. I was very happy with how my mom was cared for.

I am very satisfied with Bickford. I like that it is a smaller place and more staff per person. They are very good with the residents.

Really easy to work with. we picked this community because of the availability, proximity and reasonable price. I'd recommend, but they have to fix the front door latch. My mom escaped a couple of times.

It's a beautiful facility. Pricing was reasonable for all that was included. From a medical standpoint my mom required more monitoring that we didn't realize until it was too late. She had several falls, 2 of which were quite traumatic and required surgery.

Staff is kind and helpful. Room size was fine. Meal times were a little weird. They had no recreation person at the time so activities were lacking. Have hired one recently.

I love the location and that it is a smaller facility. Just wish their memory care was not so expensive. I think it's the most expensive in the area.

What we like the most about Bickford are the employees and yes we would recommend this community to other families based on the experience so far.

My tour started a little late due to conversations. However, I enjoyed the facility and all of its unexpected amenities. The ambiance was excellent. It was a bit hard to visualize my furniture placement when there was no vacant apartment available to view. This was a pet-friendly facility, but not convenient for taking a dog outside. Good tour.
