Bickford Senior Living

They really like to keep the residents active here. The facility is always clean and seems to be well organized. There is always a lot of hustle and bustle going on. The staff here is always polite and very friendly.

So far so good at Sunrise of Bexley. We have been busy getting dad settled in. He has some specific needs that we have had to remind him of. There has been some small confusion about medication but we have gotten all of that worked out. The social interaction has been pretty good at this facility. The residents don't go scatter off in their own area. Dad has made some acquaintances here. Overall I am really pleased with how things have gone so far.

Bickford of Carmel is exceptional. The staff is very well trained on dementia and it is reassuring knowing that if my loved one declines, they will not need to leave the facility. Bickford will work with us on the additional care. We enjoy that the building is one level and smaller than more in the area. It is obvious residents receive care and attention a lot quicker this way. They are also pet friendly which my loved one LOVES! I have recommended Bickford and will continue to do so.

I moved my dad to Bickford a month ago. So far I have been very pleased. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I live out of state and had to find an assisted living place in a couple days time after my dad ended up in the hospital. I really like the fact that it is one level and laid out in a square. The other places I looked at, the apartments were on upper floors with elevators. My dad has dementia and I didn't think he could find his way around those places as well. Plus I like the security coded doors. I know dad can not wander out. The rooms are smaller and more expensive than the other places I looked at. The overall environment is very pleasant. The residents seem happy there.

Mom was only there at Bickford of Davenport for five days. The experience was good, but she needed to get stable on her medication to sleep more and help with her agitation. She is in a locked facility specifically for dementia now. Bickford of Davenport was good but I think the care mom needed was beyond what they were able to offer. I loved the place. The administrator was great, staff was great, etc. I really wish it would have worked out for mom to stay there.

The service and attentiveness of the staff at Sunrise in the onset was remarkable. They did more than accommodate me, they made a uncertain situation more assuring experience. To this date I have been very satisfied with my mother being there.

So far they are doing a very good job. It's kept pretty clean. They call me about any incident. The food is really the only thing that is an issue. We went and ate dinner with her, and it was a corn dog and canned beets and tater tots. They only have private rooms, and it's a nice room. The people are wonderful, super friendly and nice, and they go out of their way to do so. They do arts and crafts, and even have musicians come in. I like the concept that they have with all the different levels of care.

My mother is legally blind and can't hear very well either, so it is understandably a difficult situation to get her acclimated and involved. But the staff at Bickford of Peoria have really gone out of their way to help my family with our predicaments. They have been very accommodating, and are always on top of any issues. Bickford of Peoria truly is a lovely place and we are very thankful for it!

Really liked but was pricey, a lot more than what Mom pays now. I did not get a chance to see any of the activities though.

Overall things are going very well for my loved ones at Brighton Gardens of Brentwood. Everyone is very friendly, and the care staff all seem professional and caring. The facility itself is attractive, well kept, and clean. They also do a great job with the food, my parents enjoy it, and it has been good every time I've tried it.

We are very happy with Sunrise. The women keep complaining about being bored. I would like to see some more activities. I love the director, I just think they need more. The physical space was very important. It's small and lighter and cheerier, and happiest, than the other places we saw. The people that work there, are very understanding and are very good. I am quite pleased by that. There are little things, every once in a while they miss little things.

My mother has Alzheimer's disease and could no longer care for herself. We were able to get her in immediately and the care she receives is outstanding. She loves all the caregivers there and is safe in her own surroundings. I am worrying less and getting more rest knowing she is well cared for.

Based on other places we looked at, for what we are paying for and what we are getting, it's a pretty good deal. They have the monthly activity schedule set out but from time to time, they don't happen. She loves the food there, and we have eaten there too, and it's very good. We are very pleased with them overall. When we first chose it, we met everyone, the sales staff, and the director, and we met the chef, and everyone was nice everywhere we went, but I liked the layout of the room. Before we signed any papers, we popped in at various times unannounced. We asked some of the residents questions and if they were happy.

My sister and I checked out many residences for our mom before we decided on the Bickford of St. Charles, Il. The staff there was very friendly and informative when we toured the facility. The place is very clean and feels like an elegant but comfortable home with lots of open gathering spaces and a number of cozy fireplaces. The dining room is decorated very comfortably and each resident is given a menu to choose their meals from. The floor plans for each apartment are roomy and laid out for the convenience of the person living there. The fact that you bring your own furniture to your apartment makes it feel more like home. The rooms have big, bright windows that allow a lot of natural light to enter your space. Housekeeping and laundry service are also provided witch makes it easy for your loved one to live hassle free. Our mom has only been here for two weeks and she is having a few problems with adjusting to her new surroundings but the staff is helping her with that. She is 89 years old and until now has lived on her own. She also has some dementia so things are a little difficult for her, but my sister and I are sure we made the best choice for our moms health, safety, and well being by choosing the Bickford.

IT was a very good tour. We did not choose this location because they had a waiting list. It is also a large facility

The smaller, homey atmosphere is very nice. The workers and administrative staff work closely with the residents and know them by name. I would recommend the Bickford if you want a smaller, closer atmosphere.

Activities are great and the coordinator goes out of her way to invite my mom who is unable to read the signs. Food is good, temperatures of the food tends to be a little bit too cold for many of the residents. Inside the facility is kept very clean. They just did a major renovation recently and brighten things up. Not too trendy that the elderly residence feel out of place. They struggle with answering the phone.

The only thing we really don't like is the lack of communication. There is very little communication about how our loved one is doing. We do not get any information, not even when there is a concern or doctor visit. Very clean place. And staff is friendly.

They are excellent. The facility is very clean, staff is wonderful and so caring and they also have wonderful activities provided for the residents.
