Bickford Senior Living

My husband arrived at Bickford in August last year following the transition from Sunrise. The "old guard" did not want to make the adjustment and thwarted the change in caring style for the residents. The "old guard" basically abandoned the residents and left to go to another Sunrise facility. The "new guard" is wonderful, caring, fun, attentive and life is so much better as the transition to the "Bickford way" is finally taking hold. The "old guard" continue to make contact with the residents trying to get them to leave Bickford, pitiful and emotionally abusive, seems like an ethical breach. I am glad we stuck it out and my husband is living the good life on the Memory Care floor. Thank you to the Bickford staff, you are wonderful!!

My mom was a hospice patient for a month. They kept her clean and fed and tried to entertain her (although her mood was understandably depressed). It was expensive but it resolved our concerns about her care during a difficult time

We love this facility for our mother. She has been there since [date removed]. There are so many activities and things for people to do. The staff tries to help everyone and are very personable. The food is great and the nurses remind everyone of activities for the day. Her room is spacious and has a great window to look outside., Residence are always outside their rooms enjoying the new furniture, TVs and carpet. We love this place! My mother was transferred from Hospice to Bickford of Middletown during the last six weeks of her life. The care she received was excellent and the facility very nice. The nurses were great especially during the last few days of my Mom's life. It was a good decision without regrets and she and the family were treated with dignity and compassion.

The only thing she has a problem with is the hot water. She said it is a problem. Other concerns: I don't know when you are taking her to the doctor and when we need other arrangements. Besides that she loves the place. I feel she has gotten out there and seems to be doing great. Thank You

Bickford in Bloomington IL. I find the people working there are compassionate. She stays in the dementia care facility. It is small part of the facility. So there is more one on one interaction. She is well cared for. The quality of the food is high quality and full of protein. The place is well kept and clean. I'm glad I decided on this facility for her. The place is close to my home. They keep me informed of anything that happens to her, mom forgets she can't walk so she falls. It is a relief to me that I don't have to worry over her. I've visited other places in town and they have a lot of people, patients, some of them are fighters and my mom is defenseless. I wasn't going to put her into that. I get to fill an assessment of the facility. I also write down instructions for the staff in case there are things to better her situation. I do have to pay for all of her supplies. It is not included in the price of monthly payment for her stay.

My Mom lived at The Hearth in Franklin where the care level was poor at best. After much complaining and lack of results, we moved her to Brighton Gardens. It took about 4 weeks for Mom to readjust to a different place and to make some friends. She absolutely loves Brighton Gardens and the daily attention she receives. My sister and I are even happier because the staff there is excellent, caring and involved with the resident. Mom is 95 and in a wheel chair. She requires help with her personal care and needs. Her caretakers care.

My mother spent four wonderful years at the Bickford. She was loved and cared for by many. The staff is exceptional with a special shout out to Amy and Cindy for their caring and knowledgeable services they provided to my Mom. My Mom always felt the Bickford was her home. If things were changing, I was always notified. End of life care is challenging and expensive, but the Bickford family made it easy and loving. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for assistance with their loved one.

I picked this facility for my Mother because we have a family member who has a loved one here and they seemed to really like it. I was on a time crunch to get my mom in and they accommodated us very quickly. So far we have been pleased with her care. All of the staff members here are nice and it’s a clean facility. The food is really good and they offer a lot of variety. For activities, they offer things like exercise classes, church services, and games. I would recommend this facility to other families.

While looking into a few options for my love one, I found that this property is a little bit higher than the place I actually moved forward with. Also they didn’t have enough staffing for what she needs medically. However, my staff interaction with them was good. They are very helpful, just unfortunately was not a good fit.

From our first visit to Bickford of West Lansing, everyone greeted us and all the staff members were very friendly, helpful and nice. The food here is good, and I feel the have a nice variety of items. I also appreciate that every resident wears an call button at all times, and I love that the community is a mile and a half from my home. I'm able to visit often. The community has been made over a lot since they were bought by new management, and while I feel they have done a great job, I feel the community itself could be kept more tidy.

This was a nice facility to take a tour of, but they had no availability when my family was looking for a place for my Dad. The interior decorating was a little bit more like a residence, the hallways were a bit wider, and they even had a fish room and a bird room. The reception area had hot coffee and gave us a snack to eat when we came by. They were very knowledgeable about the facility and took us through the building to see units that already had people in them so we could at least see what the rooms looked like. Overall, they were very helpful and the facility was nice but we had an immediate need to move him in so we chose a different community.

Bickford of Peoria is a bit of a smaller community, and the staff seems friendly and knowledgeable. I like that it seems like a nice, family setting. The food is also excellent here. They have some of the best meals my parents have had while being in one of these communities. There are so many activities here as well, at least two or thee events every day. It is also a very well maintained community. I would certainly recommend it to others.

The staff are helpful and we have good communication with them. This community offers memory care, assisted living and the areas do interact. The food is good and they offer healthy options. They have daily activities and entertainers that come in. They have an enclosed courtyard for the residents to enjoy. They have a smaller memory care unit and I would recommend it.

The staff at Bickford has made my mother's move to a memory care facility to be a smooth and positive experience for Mom and our family. The director and her staff have been so accommodating to meet all my mother's personal needs. They have responded to answer any questions I've had about my mother's care, both by phone and email. They created a personal care plan for my mother, and I have full confidence that my mother is being medically and socially taken care of. The activities director does a great job in engaging residents in fun activities. I love the pictures she sends showing Mom taking part. One thing that attracted my family to Bickford were the resident apartments decorated with the residents' personal furnishings and decor. That is so comforting to my mother. Every time I visit Mom tells me, "I love my apartment." Overall Bickford lives up to its mission - enriching the residents' lives with happiness and making them feel like they are living in a place that feels like home.

This community is highly expensive. They do offer a lot of nice amenities and activities. The food is good and the community is beautiful. This community is centrally located for the family. I would recommend this community.

I'am satisfied with my husbands move to this community. He is taking some time to adjust to the community, but I know he is in good hands. The staff is great. They are always willing to help, and has been friendly when I come to visit. Everything always looks great, they do a good job with the cleanliness around the facility. They offer good activities for the residents, and provide nice meals. They are taking good care of him, and his needs. This is a community I would recommend, it is working out well for us.

I toured this community for care. I was happy with the cleanliness of the community and the staff would answer my questions on the care that is offered. The menu was appealing. They do have activities for the residents. I would recommend families to see for themselves what this community can offer a loved one.

Bickford of Middletown is an awesome place. The staff is so friendly and helps the residence with whatever they need. The staff also keeps the family informed of any changes with the resident. The facility is beautiful and very clean. Every day there are plenty of activities the residence can take part of if they want to. It is just a great experience there.

The food is good and they offer a variety of choices. They are attentive to the residents needs and likes. The staff are friendly and helpful. The activities coordinator is wonderful. Housekeeping does a good job and they also take care of mom's laundry. The community is very nice and well kept. The community is one level and they have an outdoor courtyard. I would recommend this community.
