Relatively quiet, if you live by the office area. Near the laundry/picnic area, there are occasionally homeless, drugged out people loitering in the laundry rooms and on the grounds also stealing private property. No security on the grounds. Senior complex? I am not so sure anymore. We have a woman, her dog, her boyfriend, her son, who likes to beat on women, her son's girl and their baby all living in the smallest apartment, since last [date removed]. Otherwise, it is quite nice. Nice neighbors!! You decide.

I saw The Clairmont while looking at places for my loved one, and I thought it was a little better than some places we’d looked at, but I thought it just didn’t have that homey feel. We were looking for something homey.

I did not care for this community when touring it. As soon as you entered you got it with an odor of fried food.The staff was friendly and nice. I did not care for the way the community was laid out it felt very confining almost institutionalized.

The thing I liked about this community is all of the people seemed happy and the staff where very friendly to me and my loved one during our visit. I just did not like the over all feel of the environment that they had. They did not have the nursing care that she would need for long term and the assisted living felt like more of a nursing home. It was just not the right fit for her in the end decision.

Central Parke is a beautifully kept facility and shows well on a visitor tour. Of course, this means what you see during a tour may be different than what you experience as a resident. This is truly independent living as residents are not watched and caregivers are not spread out throughout the facility. Nurses will make sure meds are taken. Housekeeping needs improvement as laundry, sheets, room cleaning, and toiletry stocking is not consistent. The published activities calendar is more marketing than accurate, but there are a few things for residents to do each weekday. After 5pm weekdays and most weekends, its rather quiet with little going on. Meals are average at best and there are a couple small snacks through the day. No easy access to hydration. Caregivers seem to lack interest in the residents. While they market how “active and engaged” residents will be, there is a lot of down time. For those that can go out, there is usually a short outing a couple times a month. The outside resident courtyard, while accessible, is not used much. If you have a family member at Central Parke, but sure to stay active in their care.

The Madison Meadows was the kind of place that I needed at the time and it has been really good so far. Overall I am pretty happy with the place and I do not have an suggestions for improvements for it.

we did not have a wonderful experience where we were. The week after we moved in they started remodeling the kitchen so the whole experience was not what it should have been, we were not told when we were looking that that it was going to happen. The "housekeeping" for the cottages of independent living was a joke, if you can call spending a total of 15-20 minutes in a 2 /2 twice a month cleaning. Being on a restricted diet for diabetes was a challenge, about the only thing I could count on being able to eat was a salad, sometimes a protein. If they were going to have something I couldn't eat I had to call over before 10:00 am and place an order. The kind of last straw for us was when we had 8 inches of snow, we were told we were in independent living so they didn't have to shovel the walks but yet they expected people to go over to the main building to pick up their meals. There were many people in these cottages that were only able to get around with walkers. There were a lot of nice residents there, many had been there a long time. It seemed there were a lot of people who should have been in Assisted Living rather than Independent Living. If you needed extra help, you were allowed to bring in your own aides or whatever. I think a lot of the problems could have been resolved/avoided if they had more experienced staff. The activities were only led by the residents with no guidance from the staff. I know this is probably not the kind of reviews you want but this was our experience in living there for 6 months. Most of these things seem small but they add up.

Again, this was based upon a few times visiting my mother in law-- facility was clean, nice activity rooms, entertainment... staff was friendly but sat behind their desk and not interactive with patients except to move them in and out of dining room. Otherwise they seemed to just sit patients in the entry way as you walk into building that is right by nursing station, presumably because this is easier than leaving their chairs behind the station. They don't let patients back in rooms for afternoon rest/nap or to use their own restroom. It seems like they just do whatever is easiest to "manage the herd".

There is a great group of residents. Before the management change, there was a great positive fun culture- that has been completely eroded. I think the thing that troubles me most is how they talk to the residents. Management is rude, condescending and regularly threatens kicking people out- they've asked 2 people to leave in the past 6 weeks. There are lots of things to improve on but they need to get this basics right before they can focus on anything else.

My mom had a LOT of things that just disappeared! All of her jewelry, including her wedding ring, her headbands, socks, some pants, all scarves, her remote control and sets of sheets. There was a total change of staff when they all left to go to another facility and that's when things went downhill. The care is subpar now. My mom has gone without meals and diaper changes even while I was there, so I can only imagine what happens when I'm not!

The Activities Director was great and several of the care givers were really good. I liked the management folks as well, but I don't think they were very good at managing the care.

When we have had different concerns and have contacted management, it has taken multiple emails and calls to get them to respond. Then the concerns we not addressed and actually minimized. We routinely have to ask them to clean my mom's apartment. Apparently, residents are only allowed to use the laundry on whatever floor they reside on and when there are issues with the laundry working properly, the resident is just expected to wait until it is repaired versus being allowed to use laundry on another floor. And it is impossible to get consistent care and communication with the the other service providers that are onsite- like pt Transportation is supposed to be available, but the driver is rarely available. There is also no social worker onsite to help with getting additional services nor is the staff educated on the behaviors and symptoms associated with different diagnoses. My mom is experiencing some psychiatric symptoms and the staff is enabling some unsafe behaviors and has discounted our concerns. There have been multiple times where mom has signed up to go on a trip and it gets canceled at the last minute. Mom is happy and enjoys it- but from a family/caregiver perspective, they have been a nightmare to deal with and we are trying to figure out how to move her without traumatizing her

Not a nice place [name removed] fell 6 times in 2 weeks. All they did was pick him up afterwards. No effort to prevent future falls.They demanded a $[removed] deposit, then kicked him out in a.very short time. They also lost several items of his, and did not return them.

I have lived at the Summerfield eststea for independent living for eiGHT YEARs. WHEN I MOVED IN IT WAS VERY NICE. However since then my rent has gone up several hundred dollars and service has diminished significantly. Flowers at entrance have disappeared, no place mats on tables. Cotton napkins are gone , food is fair to poor, staff is fair but service is very minimal and slow. I would have to give my opinion a 2 on a scale of 1/5. And transportation is very limited if at all and extremely unavailable .

Be cautious and do your homework. There are some very nice residents and we made some good friends but management needs to improve and food is subpar.

My loved one was previously a resident at Hammond Glen Retirement Community. She was a resident at this facility for several years and had been very happy there. However, we felt forced out by management due to a monthly rent increase that was over $[removed] that they arbitrarily were going to levy on my loved one following a hospitalization and rehab stay. My loved one had essentially returned to her previous level of self-care. They failed to do their own assessment of her, instead they exaggerated her level of need to justify the increase in charge. We knew of another resident that had the same experience at the same time. Ultimately, we moved my loved one out of Hammond Glen. She went into hospice one month later. She was depressed and demoralized by the experience, which I believe hastened her death.

During the tour the community seemed empty, as we didn't see any residents and very few staff members. We also didn't get to see the entire community. The pricing seemed more expensive than we wanted.

They give the residents more carbs, than vegetables. They need to improve on the food, and customer service.The apartments are pretty clean. The staff needs to do better, with handling policies, and enfocing rules.

Cardinal Court seemed outdated, and not a good fit for memory care. More like the typical warehousing of elder residents that one thinks of with little regard for memory care. I would not ever consider placing family there ever.

This facility oversells and underlives. Most of the nurses and aides do their very best. I speculate mgmt.. Only concerns themselves with money and not the care of the residents and I worry about them everyday. I wish management did the same.
