I need to tell you that my experience is that I got snuckered. I was told that as an incentive to sign up, I would get 15 percent off rent up front and $[removed] for 3 months. For the apartment I chose, rent would be $[removed] minus 15 percent minus $[removed] or $[removed]. I asked if the service advertised were included in the rent and was told they were. When I received my bill (and I didn't move in until [date removed]), the charge was $[removed]+. Two days later, I went to speak to the leasing agent and was told, "He no longer works here ". Some adjustments were made, but the bill for March showed that there Is a separate charge of $[removed]in addition to the charge for the room, and the cost for April was $[removed]+. I am required to stay for 3 months. I plan to see if I can move out sometime in May. You also need to know that there has been large loss of staff shortly after the departure of the leasing agent. I suffered a bad fall (not there) and was hospitalized over Easter and had surgery thereafter. Now I'm in rehab at Lifecare of East Ridge. I will likely be here for at least another week.

Its great for an elderly person with their marbles. No good at memory care.

My loved one is a resident at Holiday Oxmoor Lodge and overall the experience has been poor. The janitorial/maintenance staff is good. The rest of the staff has been okay to poor. They have major staff shortages and frequent staff changes, particularly in the dining room and kitchen. The value for cost is poor.

The best staff person was [name removed], he did an incredible job selling the experience and was very professional, warm and helpful. The front desk folks were fantastic and truly caring. The internal communication was terrible, however, and we had an awful time getting my father's needs taken care of (they continually could not figure out how to puree his food, they would leave him meals he could not eat, it was a terrible experience). I also had to chase down information regarding his billing for MONTHS. No one would return my calls or meet with me and if I hadn't kept asking for help/info we would've been overcharged a few thousand dollars. The environment was beautiful and clean, but it was also very cliquey and he never felt comfortable or welcomed there by the residents. The nurses were great and worked so hard. Lots of staff changes, which left him feeling disconnected and unsure (he would ask "which medicine are you giving me?" And they couldn't answer him). It was not a happy experience for our family.

You are going to sign a deal with the devil if you move in here. They will tell you whatever it takes to get you in a lease. Good hourly staff. Horibble lease.

My mother has been in the memory care facility for 3 months. Our main concern was we wanted her bathed/hair washed and we wanted to make sure she was eating. We were assured this would be done and they had ways to coax them to do this. None of this has been accomplished. My mother wears the same outfit 3-4 days in a row. She has lost 10 lbs. She has not been bathed or had her hair washed in weeks. Every time I visit she is sitting in a chair in the dark in her room or sleeping on top of her bed fully dressed which is how she goes to bed. They do not change her hearing aid batteries so most of the time she cannot hear. We are very disappointed with the level of care received and will be moving her out.

Would not recommend the community. They need additional staff in Alzheimer's area. If they say they are offering a service, they need to make sure they're able to offer it. The community told me they would provide arts and crafts, but didn't.

The assisted living side was wonderful when our mom was there. The memory care side, however, was the complete opposite. The care provided to our dad was terrible. No communication regarding his needs.

We don't like Holiday Oxmoor Lodge for our mom . They told us one thing to get our mom in about the transportation and then said that they never told us what we re told about transportation. Then the food is not good sometimes cold and the pizza was dry and would not feed it to my dog. They need to have better meals for the amount of money people pay in that place .

StoryPoint Libertyville promised a great deal and didn't deliver. My loved one was not happy there. She felt there was not enough to keep an active 91 year old engaged. It was as if people had given up due to lack of activities and activities that feel geared more towards toddlers than grown adults. Rather than giving her a good Assisted Living experience, they failed on numerous accounts. Paper work was delayed, the room was not prepped and ready, water was shut off, air conditioner wasn't working, room lights were exceedingly dim, etc. There is also a water reclamation plant nearby and we asked about the smell, being familiar with the area. We were told there wasn't a smell or they could count on 1 hand the days it could be smelled. We smelled it numerous times and it permeated the building. The food was terrible and I can not blame the chef. He has to work within the budget and guidelines he was given. When you asked residents about the food, every single person said it wasn't good or it was terrible BUT you got used to it. You shouldn't have to, that is what you are paying for. Cod is not an inexpensive piece of fish and I had the worst piece of cod that I have ever had in my life there. It is pretty tough to ruin cod. Give the chef what he needs to cook the food well. It is one of the few remaining joys left in an older person's life: Good food. My husband attempted to give them feedback at the end and we were supposed to meet with their new director. We showed up for the appointment and she wasn't there. She had called in sick but failed to cancel the appointment. She did not reschedule. They simply failed on many levels. They also appear to be going through a turnover: new chef, new director, head of their care staff left, etc.

If you care about your parents at all, do not let them live here. They charge astronomical prices, cut back on services, and do not care about the residents or their opinions. They are constantly changing staff. They raise the prices all the time yet charge for every extra such as a simple meal delivery to a resident's apartment or cottage. It makes you wonder what exactly they are doing with the money. Oh, and they do not pay electricity, utilities, or any of the bills to the town of Southwick in a timely manor. Managed by Stony Point Group: A very uncaring and seedy management company. Beware.

My loved one is selectively mute. As far as the staff is concerned about taking care of my loved one's essential needs, my loved one may as well be invisible. They won't even give them water without me prompting them to do so. . .

I was blinded by the beauty of this facility. I realize now that looks are deceiving. The memory care unit is understaffed and poorly managed. I was told a lot of lies before my loved one moved in, such as the staffing ratio being 1:6, which is not true. There were only two staff for almost 30 memory care residents. If you are looking for quality care for your loved one, this is NOT the place. This place is not equipped for memory care. There are more things wrong with this place than right. This facility appears to value profit more than patient care and safety.

My mother has resided here close to 2 years. We chose this facility for the promise of graduated care that we were assured would be available as she aged and her needs increased. Things went well while Mother was relatively independent, designated as “Level one”. We’ll now she’s “level 4” and the care she’s receiving is not reflective of that. Plan to have a family member present at least 16 hours a day to supplement your loved ones needs because the staff is overwhelmed, overworked, and under trained. The people passing meds are trained on the job and have minimal competence to be administrating drugs. Off shifts(nights weekends and holidays) are a real challenge. Skeletal crew and no resources to address problems that arise. This place is very high priced and not meeting expectations. The staff turnover is a problem. Always new faces. I issued a complaint with the regional corporate operational VP and was assured they were working to fix the problems. Time will tell.

Staff is not as engaging and does not follow through with needs of the clients. Especially upper management.

The aides working here are all from an agency. They do not call my loved one by name or greet my loved one. The activities in memory care are not good. Families need to understand these places are businesses. They want to sell the product. It's not all what they say. Every place is so expensive and not the way that elders should be treated.

I gave them a 2 star overall because my mom was off all day Thursday and they waited until 1030 at night to tell me and now she's fighting for her life in the hospital from a septic UTI and a stroke.

Corporate seems oblivious to the real issues affecting the building. They believe what they want but not what is real. It used to be a nice place. Too bad. The previous owners cared about the residents and the staff.

The living spaces at Holiday Pearl Crossing were a lot smaller than other places I looked at. The apartment was very small, with a very small kitchen. It was very basic and did not have much storage.

My loved one was here for less than a month before the Executive Director called and told me that their staffing needs couldn't meet her level of care needs and that I'd have to move her to a different place. I'm not sure if they meant that they were understaffed or just couldn't handle her care needs. But I did observe that in general, they were understaffed. They didn't have enough staff to be able to help my loved one get around (for example: to the dining room) or for restroom visits. These needs were clear and also discussed during my loved one's assessment prior to moving her in. I will say, they did give me a few names of other places that may be able to care for my loved one. Also, the third party medical team that they bring in is wonderful. My loved one saw the Nurse Practitioner and also the Wound Dr, both of whom were great! But overall, our experience here wasn't good. I wouldn't recommend this facility to friends and family.
