Since the take over from [community removed], it is definately not worth the money and has gone down hill. Since my mother has been here, many services have been cut and definitely not satisfactory for the residents that live here. The building is currently under renovation with many inconveniences to the residents such as not being to use the elevator, which there is only 1 of, incase of a fire, limited parking, and overflowing garbage. Maintenace is minimal, the housekeeping has changed to giving more attention to the building itself, instead of the serices for the residents. The biggest complaint is the food and service. The warming table has not worked for more than 6 months, so the food is served cold and there is little "NUTRIONAL" value to most if not all of the meals. I'm sure there is more but I do want to credit the staff that is here, because they are kind and compassionate and are getting all the complaints and can do very little.

Advocate for your family members!!! Visit and go often! Things such as not dressed for appropriate weather, toothbrushing, and hand washing are daily skills. One would think for as much as you pay, those very very simple things would be taken care of. I honestly would discontinue recommending them.

StoryPoint Cordova charges top rate prices for mediocre to lacking facilities. They're having extreme difficulties hiring and keeping staff, from the kitchen to the dining room, from maintenance to housekeeping. My parents have been trying to move from Ind. Living to Asst. Living for two weeks and no one can give them a move-in date. The place looks great on a tour and everyone talks a good game, but the follow through is sorely lacking.

Construction ongoing, billing not right elevator very slow and menu has declined. Activities could improve a bunch. People are really nice. The building needs a lot of renovations so if you dont mind living with that in mind than its an ok place.

My mother in law has been there for less than a month and is moving out. She needs more care than they can provide, which is not all their fault. There were several issues with the room, broken lock, tripping hazard on the carpet. Also, they ignored my request to take her monthly payment from a specific account even though I repeatedly told them. I notified them ahead of time that we were moving furniture in on a specific day and time and they were shampooing the carpets when the furniture arrived. Furniture had to stay in the hallway, bed could not be assembled so my husband and I came back the next day to do the assembly. We are old, too! I would not recommend them.

Some of the staff is amazing but the bad ones are bad!! It's so sad to see the way some of the care team treat my family member. This place used to be amazing, and then when dylan left it, all went downhill from there

High staff turnover as well! We picked them because of the location.

I wouldn't consider unless there is absolutely no other way possible. It is terribly dirty; I had to scrub down the laundry facilities before I dare use it. Then no one keeps it clean. Food is almost poor; I don't know budgets and that's party of it. Food is NEVER hot. Soup is tepid. You can't sip a cup of coffee -- drink it right now or it's too cold !! And dirty dishes-- everyday!! I brought my own glass to every meal. It's that bad. The managers should be released immediately and go on search for a person who isn't afraid of getting their hands dirty. Literally! The senior manager seems to have minimal if any business sense. She isn't able to explain journals to residents-- and she created them. No more dogs were to be allowed when I came in August and lo and behold two dogs arrived (that's what forced us out of our home). The hallway stinks of dog. Apparently one dog owner allows his pet to toilet in the apartment. Some residents down my hall discard sanitary products in inappropriate methods thus the horrific odor in the laundry. Management knows this; she told me. But is anything done to correct.???? I think she may be afraid of her own shadow. She has absolutely no skill to manage this environment. You don't have to be modern, or trendy. But there is no excuse for this filth. Even poor people deserve decent treatment.

They were understaffed. We paid for the highest level of care, but the staff were not told/aware of his needs. If you are only needing minimum care, this was a nice place. Additional care was not available at the time. I did speak to the receptionist recently and she said almost all of the staff that was there a year ago has been replaced. Said it was poor management. The director didn't even make it a year there.

I visited this place a few months ago for my uncle who needs to downsize. The place was clean and the front desk person was sweet. The rooms were spacious and had great lighting. The food didn’t look appetizing, it look like they took it out of a frozen container. For the price of living there you would think their food would be great. The only thing that is included in the rent is the dinner and for [fee removed] a month they can definitely do better.

The cottage he is in is great. We had many issues prior to move in. We were misinformed about pricing, what's included and what is not. He is not able to get the food there unless he pays for the full package which includes all the activities, transportation, etc. We were originally told utilities were included with the full package, and they are not. The cottage was not thoroughly cleaned by the lease start date. His keys did not work to the front door, or the mailbox. When he finally got access to his mailbox, there was someone else's mail in it. They were very disorganized, and blamed it on the fact that there were several other move-ins the same day as my father's. It was not a smooth process, whatsoever, but now that he's settled, he's happy there.

I wrote a check at the end of July to pay for August and it has yet to be cashed. I provided banking info so that future payments could be taken right out of the bank. The September payment has yet to be deducted. The invoice I received at the end of August was not itemized and was for over $[removed]. I called that day and left a message. I saw the assistant GM the following week and asked about it and she said the wrong invoices went out and new ones would be run. It has been almost 3 weeks now and no one has called me back and I have not received a revised invoice. Shortly after my mother moved in, the general manager was terminated. I believe the next one has now left and a new one starts in October. A new chef has been hired so hopefully the food will improve. I am told the sales person has left as well. When I go there twice a week I see the assistant GM and occasionally the activity director but no one else. There is seldom anyone at the desk.

We moved mom out for two reasons - the poor quality of care and the fact they don't have Medicare waiver. In no way is this a high-end facility. Her new facility has much better care, attention staff, medical, food and more. I will not recommend Story Point ever!

Haven't had laundry done properly in months.it takes 24-48 hrs for laundry. Revolving door staffing. The business was sold shortly after my parents moved in and they haven't quite got it together yet. The staff used to sit at a desk on each floor. Now they moved into a closed room not easily available to staff or residents. The desks all sit empty now

Locations for most senior communities are notoriously an oversight - cheap land is not necessarily a good thing. You u get what you pay for. We hope that they fixed the food issue. It was not the chef - it is working with a ridiculous budget. Think about activities for seniors of all abilities with overlapping activities for different abilities.

It has not been a good experience, care is overrated on every level. Our loved ones room was not cleaned when we moved in, filthy and they didn't have housekeeping employee for sometime. Still not clean with a fulltime housekeeping. Some are friendly and some not. They decently had state there and fired multiple people. The care is just not there or good. Multiple people have moved out due to lack of care. The meals are poor. Resident comment daily when I am there how poor food is. My mom has lost 23 pounds. Been thru four activities people. They don't do activities they have scheduled. Very disappointed in activities. It is very expensive for care. Just raised rates as well. I would never have moved my mom if I knew how poor the care would have been. I am there multiple times per week just to check in on her. Pitiful!

For 6 months Story Point was decent. Since then, everything has been horrible. Lack of care, unclean facility, neglect and unprofessional people. After having meetings with director stating their issues, twice, nothing changed. Then the [fee removed] per month increase in payment with no changes. I truly believe that the director (name removed) has ruined this place. If you care about your loved one, don't let them live at Story Point.

Make sure to interview the management and find out how many staff members are there at all times. If you have issues, who is your point of contact. I recommend a loved one spending the night a few times. Your eyes will be opened to sundowners. Based off of our experience, I would not recommend this facility.

I was heavily pursued by a sales person at Independence Village. I was assured that my mother's skilled nursing needs could be met but after only 2 weeks of moving her in I was told that I needed to move her to a skilled nursing facility. Before I could move her, she fell and required emergency surgery and never fully recovered. She died shortly after leaving Independence Village.

I have lived here for the past 2 months and I have to say I am disappointed with my experience living here. The price is too high for what you get. The food is a 3 outof 10. The food is sub par and I would choose another place for my mom.
