Based on the experience we have had with StoryPoint Mequon community, we felt like we were over promised and she isn't getting the care she is paying for. She requires a special diet and they find it difficult. She only eats one meal in the dining room.

Based on the experience we have had so far with Devonshire Retirement Village, we think they could improve on the care in the memory care unit. I think they believe the memory care wont know the difference.

We took a tour of Holiday The Marquette during our search for a facility for our loved one. This facility was dated. The facility also had an unpleasant smell. We decided to continue on with our search.

Glen Eagle feels like home. It's very laid back. Meals are good, staff is friendly and I love my apartment. I came from another complex that I didn't trust. "A Place for Mom" advertised and I called the number. She set up an appointment with Glen Eagle for me. I came here and looked at the 1st apartment and then 3 others. I was sold on the 1st apartment. The people are very friendly, the food is good and I can have all the privacy I want. I love my apartment and love where it's located in the complex. I am very blessed for "A Place for Mom"

High turnover of help. Decline in promised services. Food service often closed for breakfast and lunch! A Lack of oversight from corporate with little or no visits to Portage. After house little or no staff available -- example -- lady feel, broke leg, took 2 hours before removed to hospital

This has not been the great experience as I thought it would. The place is not clean, they are short staffed and they have not followed through on what they sell the place on. I have met with them with my concerns and they committed to improvement. That is why I would rate them overall a 3 out of 5.

If delicious, hot food is important, you should shop around for another facility. If responsive staff/ helpful staff is important, there has been a lot of turnover and the staff isn't very engaged. The price went up within the first three months while the service went down so I would tell a friend to shop around. It's in a great location and the residents are very friendly.

The facility is newly remodeled which has been very nice. The food that they offer to residents is not great... they also give very small portion sizes. Based off of our experience so far, we would recommend Parkside Court to friends and family.

My mother is currently a resident at Bayfield Assisted Living and Memory Care. I am disappointed with the facility and our experience. We were assured that our mom would be checked on often, encouraged to attend activities and brought to meals in the common area for socialization. This doesn't happen. They seem short staffed when we ask for the items that are supplied by Bayfield when my mom has run out of them (such as disposable briefs, toilet paper, etc). I feel mislead by what was promised versus what care my mom actually receives.

The physical facility is lovely. Based on our loved ones level of service, someone is supposed to be checking every 2 hours. Multiple times my loved one has gone to pick our loved one up up and the undergarments are soaked through and our loved one is in need of a shower. Either our loved one is not being checked every 2 hours or the "check" is insufficient. We have discussed the issue with staff and management multiple times and the issue persists. We may end up needing to move again. I think there needs to be better training of the aides and better accountability - I presume those are the ones who do the periodic "checks"

I toured with Devonshire Retirement Village and I thought it was a very nice facility. But, they did not get back with me until 10 days later after the tour. I am glad they delayed getting back to us though because mom is happy at her new place!

Anthology of Novi is a beautiful environment. Not enough truly trained and capable staff to keep all safe. My mom was there 4 months. We had a family member visit Every day she was there. Still she fell while alone at night and bumped her head. Staff found her and just placed her back in bed. I found her in the morning. She never regained full consciousness and passed at day 5 after the fall.

My 5 siblings and I looked at these facilities. When we walked into Valparaiso Senior Village, none of us really liked this location at all - so it was ruled out almost immediately.

Story Pointe Chesterton was the most expensive out of the places we looked at and my mom wasn't really wild about , the layout was too big , and since she relies on a rolling walker she felt there was too much walking for her. That was the main reason we did not choose them.

We picked this community, because of the location and it's comfortable. They are very friendly and we feel safe.The food is not good and I'm not happy to be paying for what it is. I would recommend it to other families.

I do think it's a wonderful place and met some wonderful people as we never know how long someone will be there it's really hard to figure how to do it. It's very nice if you have the money it's worth it. But you better be rich. It was my loved ones choice but it became way too expensive and it was close to my house.

My father currently resides at Glen Abbey Assisted Living and Memory Care. I was so impressed when I toured this facility. The rooms are very nice. But they added a huge charge for 'Activities' of which my father can't participate and another highest level charge for his care. They perform almost no care. At least he is receiving excellent care from [removed].

Before we signed a contract, everything was amazing and felt like the perfect place. Once they had our money, it all changed. The care services are vile. My grandma has fallen twice, and no one will respond to the calls. The care agents don't show up for scheduled care, and the food has made her and other residents sick on multiple occasions.

We asked our loved one these questions, so these are his answers. In our opinion StoryPoint Grove City is a nice place but it is too expensive for what they get. As I have seen all of the staff be very kind to them, not so much with me. I'm sure it's because I was vocal but I go there often and I don't know if it's just me or anyone who comes in but no smiles , no hellos until I say it.

We were there 24 hours. The help at night was inadequate to transfer my mother I had to help. This place is not wheelchair friendly. My mother was unable to get to the bathroom sink because of the cupboards underneath were in her wheelchair way. I talked to a gentleman that was on a scooter and they were shutting down the elevators for two days so that means he was stuck in his room for two days because they had no other way to get him downstairs. This does not seem safe to me. I think this would be a great facility for a independent living person, but not for anyone that is in a wheelchair or on a scooter unless they're on the first floor. The short experience was very overwhelming for my mom. I did have to pay for three months rent and we only stayed 24 hours. I was able to get most of my money back after writing a letter to corporate, pointing out some of the things that were misleading. I do not want to knock the facility, but it just was not a good fit for my mom. It's great for independent people, but not so much for the elderly with mobility issues
