I'm 50/50 on the facility. For assisted living, it seems just fine. For memory care, it seems like they just want to medicate the residents into a stupor to avoid having to deal with them.

The care staff seems excellent, management on the other hand is horrible! They are very rude and condescending. Housekeeping seems to do a really good job and go out of their way to help residents. The aides communicate with my daughter instead of me because they know her. We moved her in on a Saturday and even though they knew we would be moving her in on that date, it felt like management had no idea what was going on. The meals appear to be good quality, she hasn't complained about the food. New management would be my recommendation. I'm glad we were able to find a home for my mother in law, but I wish the management wasn't leaving me sour on the place. I honestly don't know if I would recommend them or not.

We had a very bumpy start to my mom's move in. Apartment wasn't cleaned ahead of time like promised. Billing, after two months, is still a mess. Housekeeping does not including dusting, so I have to go and do that on my own. As for communications, they are not great at getting back to me. It usually means I have to call several times, which is irritating. Meals are delicious though. They do a good job of dealing with dietary issues. Would I recommend them? Not for someone who is moving a loved one and doesn't live close by to check on things.

I would say to thoroughly read the paperwork and don't be rushed to sign anything! At the time it was close to home.

The only thing I can think of is the food. But I understand it's going to be hard to please 100 older folks. everyone is not going to like the same things. Older folks are set in there ways and I understand the food has to be the hardest part. Mom doesn't like the food. Eats a lot in her room. Said portions are getting better but still not enough. They are currently under a re-model.

Availability was the final criteria. They have had high turnover of staff but I think that is common in this field. We like the current staff. They are trying hard and there are some stars. They continue to improve.

Very short staffed and reflects in the care of the residents. All in all it's been fine. It's been a few bumps lately but we will work through it. The staff that is there regularly are amazing folks!!!

Grounds, public places, and patios were a big draw, plus statements about planned excursions which have not occurred since he moved in. Services have actually been cut back since move in. Food service and offerings have been disappointing. Hoping that things improve now that holidays are over.

Besides the outrageous cost of assisted and independent living independence village was very nice. Everyone was so very helpful and my Mom liked the staff. We were a bit disappointed in the food. Most of the time the entrée was dry and a bit tough. I guess they need to hold it and make sure it is super cooked. I would absolutely recommend IV of Aurora to others.

There was no deep cleaning that happened prior to her moving in. It was gross. I had to pay for a cleaning service to try to clean. AdvisaCare has been great! The response from Aurora Pond has been very disappointing. So far, it has been very disappointing with having to pay for outside services. I would not recommend Aurora Pond. The office staff has not responded to any of my concerns. Whenever one of my family asks a question in person at the office, the answer is different when another person asks same question. And so angry about how gross their place was when they moved in.

I honestly do not think I would recommend Lakeview Terrace to others.

The quality of care is terrible. I would recommend Danbury Westerville - Parkside Village community for independent living but not assisted. The rooms are large, building is beautiful.

Wanting to be near family brought me to this well-maintained independent living facility in Des Moines, Iowa. When my daughter and I visited, we viewed a variety of studio through 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartments. I chose a one bedroom, one bath apartment. As we toured the entire building, we met a few residents as well as employees. Our rent provides three meals per day as well as once-a-week housekeeping which includes providing clean sheets and bath towels. A bus to transport residents helps to get us to appointments, etc. After living here four months, I feel included in various events and activities. I have developed a few good friendships and feel completely comfortable living here. Rent is reasonable and has proved to be an excellent choice for me.

Friend has been in building for 2 for quite some time. Most of the staff are wonderful but they get pulled everywhere due to not enough help. Some staff spend too much time on phones while others will run like crazy. Residents first!

My dad was previously a resident at River Ridge Retirement Village and overall his experience was okay. The staff was mostly new with a few old who remained. I observed the old staff as excellent, friendly and genuinely concerned with knowing my dad. The communication and organization was terrible. The price/cost changed constantly. My dad said that the food was 'just okay.; Dad will eat anything, so it might have been terrible. The overall cleanliness was good. The director is kind and helpful, but I get the feeling that she is not supported by anyone above her. Getting into the building to visit was a constant complaint, often having to wait and call for a long time before getting inside. Hopefully, they are a learning to work together because the disconnect by the original employees and the new employees is obvious.

Love that I could bring my best friend and pet Chico! I love most the meals and all the staff is always helpful.

All the staff are friendly and seem to care about my mom. I like that the bathroom is always clean no matter when I check it. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to other families.

Unfortunately the staff to patient ratio was poorly lacking. My mother fortunately didn't need extensive help. The count for showers I believe was 2 in a span of a month , laundry and sheets changed was also close to that number. She shared a suite with a lady that was wheelchair bound and was always calling for help. Legitimately needing help for bathroom etc, my mother was calling for her as she wanted my mother to put her leg brackets on the wheelchair. She truly felt bad for her , it made it awkward as she was there to recuperate. God forbid there wasn't an emergency as they wouldn't be there . The price she paid should reflect the care. As a positive they were the only ones that would work with her dietary situation

Based on our experience, the total lack of communication when needed with staff at the Clarendale of Schererville prevents higher scores. Can't get any answers or calls back when needed regarding my mother's care. Nice place, too bad there's no communication if you have questions. Some of the nursing staff is very rude & arrogant. We pay extra for medications to administered to our mother in assisted living. To get any information though is extremely hard
