My father has been very unhappy with the food. He is a picky eater, but promises were made at the time he signed the agreement, and they have not been kept. In general, he has not been happy with the transition, but I don't feel that is a reflection of the facility or staff. He also has not been happy with the StoryPoint's new insistence on having rental monies on a direct withdrawal. He prefers to write his check each month.

My loved one was previously a resident at Heritage Hill Assisted Living and Memory Care. It was a nice place, but not for my loved one with agitated dementia and Alzheimer's. There were too many people on their phones. However, the food was excellent and the cooks did a good job. My loved one loved the food.

The last rent increases was excessive, there's a lot of staff turnover, and my father in law has complained about the quality and taste of the food a lot recently but overall, it's a nice place.

I'm really not sure I would recommend at this time. Although this place is now under StoryPoint management so there will be changes. The cleanliness is not very good. When it comes to the meals sometimes they are good and other times they are not.

I found very different conditions when we first arrived, the staff retention is poor at best and the food service is one of the most poorly run operations I've ever seen. The turnover of kitchen staff is insane and management has had a similar problem. The management that has been present ranged between incompetent and uninvolved. The day to day operations staff are doing their best but they are overwhelmed and are not receiving the support from corporate that they need. Communication has been erratic and in some cases appears blatantly dishonest. Additionally there have been constant billing errors, while minor, they have not been easy to resolve because of shortcomings in the management. I would not recommend this facility until these issues are addressed. That being said the residents are nice and my mom has made friends there, if it wasn't for that we would have already looked for another location. our families experience has room for improvement, cannot recommend at this time but with changes I would be willing to change my opinion."

We moved my mom last year. The biggest issue we had was how they were handling her medications, misplaced some, didnt get them to her on time, etc

I would say it's a beautiful facility with friendly people.

The Holiday Willow Park building and rooms need to be updated. The grounds are an embarrassment

I am currently a resident at Independence Village of Ames and overall the experience has been okay. The chefs are top notch, resulting in great meals. The management, however, does not seem to be truthful. Based on my experience, I'm not sure if I would recommend Independence Village of Ames to others.

There are a few things I would recommend to improve but generally it has been a good experience.

Our experiences with the staff have been good. My mother-in-law has settled in well. Things work best if you stay involved and help the staff manage care. Areas for improvement: Returning phone calls and answering questions. Follow-up could be better. Giving all the info needed at once so that things could get done the first try.

They were understaffed and had too much turnover Portion size was too small. They should have pushed for more involvement in activities.

The executive director is not very skilled at her position. There is only an "acting" director of health and wellness . The executive chef is not very good. The menu is sophomoric. Care staff some are excellent, most need training. The whole facility needs qualified leaders. Standard procedures need to be established and followed. Poor management. Care level has improved since February. I have had to readdress issues several times. There is a blame game they like to play. It takes emails to corporate to get a response.

The lack of nurses aides is frustrating. Leaves the residents in very vulnerable situations. The beef and chicken are overcooked and dry. It's obvious the chicken comes out of a can. Most of the vegetables are mushy. The breakfast bacon is not even warm. We are lucky to get two tasty meals a week.

My loved one is currently a resident at Southwick Village and overall the experience for her has been just okay. I probably would not recommend this facility to others based on the overall experience.

If they tell you that they are making checks on residents hourly, make sure that they are actually checking them hourly. They need to offer more activities for men. There needs to be more seasonings on the food.

I was previously a resident at StoryPoint Fairfield and the overall experience was okay. The food was the best that I have ever had!

There is always some kind of activity for the residents. Staff is super friendly. They really try to provide great service. Severely under staffed though. Getting things done takes a long time. Location was the primary for us. But the fact they offered transportation to doctors appts was necessary too. Parents didn't drive. I would rate that service at about a 3.

The PT people , who I believe worked through Summit, were very good and my dad liked them a lot. Their apt was so small for what they were paying. I would say 3/4 of the time they were disappointed in their dinner. Some of the staff was friendly, some , not so much. They were paying too much for what they were getting.

The staff here was very good. But there were issues with the facility. As I recall, plumbing was a major one. Based off of the experience, my mother would not recommend Story Point Libertyville.
