We will probably be looking for a cheaper place they just raised her rent and raised price for care. If you pay for care make sure the staff is doing their job not saying I'll be back in a few. We aren't that happy we have had several issues with the staff

The activities staff is amazing! The dietary staff is very nice, but the food at times does not taste great and at times they are understaffed.

Understaffed, Meals are so/so. My wife spends to much time in the wheelchair. She needs more help using her walker, to keep her in leg muscles strong. Very expensive for not much

Most of the staff cares about being there and answers my questions but there are a few that are argumentative ones. Need a better system for a locked down unit. Multiple times I have showed up different times and ranged the doorbell to stand at the door for 10 minutes so I have to call the main building to get someone to let me in.

I would rate Story Point at a three out of five stars I felt as though a lot of things were promised while trying to get me to sign the lease with Story Point. After I got Dad moved in I felt alone and unsure of how the place worked. I would go to the desk and ask for help. They would say that someone would come , and that did not happen. It's a very stressful move to make, moving a parent into assisted living, and I felt as though I was not guided or helped with the process. I felt as though the general manager would purposely avoid me. Story Point itself is a beautiful community. I just felt as though staff in key positions were overwhelmed and make no attempt to make you feel welcome.

There are lots of activities and outings to keep residents busy if they choose. They do have town hall meetings to get residents' input on activities and food and to give updates on things happening at the facility. The monthly calendar that every resident gets for their room is nice along with the weekly updates.

We rated that the overall experience because of the insane cost. Rooms are not swept on a regular basis nor are showers and counters cleaned. Guessing it is a staffing issue. Staff is awesome. The care services overall she has been then care of. However, there have been days where she has not received her meds. For Story Point, since move in, there hasn't been any contact with Admin. I would give them a 1. 10 For [name removed]. [name removed] and [name removed]have been amazing. They both communicate and care about the resident and her family. The food looks amazing. There are a lot of options. And if the resident gets antsy and leaves before they finish their meal, the staff makes sure that they have something to eat in their room like grilled cheese, chicken tenders or a burger. So I would say 10. They seem to have a lot of activities. But I am not sure if much effort is put in to encourage the residents to participate. Rent was just increased by over $[fee removed] per month. for a one bedroom, the price is $[fee removed] per month. Plus a $[fee removed] for [name removed] to make sure that she is getting her meds, going to meals and activities, and getting showers. The employees for [name removed] are phenomenal. It would be so nice if they were paid more. Especially considering how much [name removed] charges.

There's not a lot of activities for residents with low vision issues The admin staff is very slow to respond PT office is in premise

It's a nice place for my dad to live, but they were not transparent with their prices when he moved in a year ago, and now they have raised his rent by $[removed] /month, which is outrageous. People are actually moving out of there because they cannot afford it. He is not doing the activities or food there, because it is significantly more rent per month. He is actually going to the Southwick senior center for lunch every day, which is a mile down the road.

Only about 20-25% of the residents are independent. The rest need aides or never leave their room.

I'll start with the positives. I live in one of the cottages so I'll give you my perspective from there. The area is beautiful. Landscaping well maintained. Snow removal excellent. Weekly trash removal excellent. The main building, the Devin House, is attractive from outside and , as far as I know, well maintained inside. Meals are very good. Staff is courteous, helpful and efficient. Activities are abundant. Here are my only complaints, monthly rent is very high especially for seniors. Rent increases each year when lease renews. Price of meals have gone up. Dining room is short staffed. Two of my cottage neighbors are moving because of high rent. Not enough maintenance staff to take care of all cottages and main building. I understand that a large place such as this has costs also but I am on a fixed income and single. Thought this would be in my budget, which it was, but not after rent increases. Sorry for venting but you did ask. Finally, if they can afford to live here, it is a place I would recommend.

I think the biggest thing to know is that at certain times of day it is really hard to find nursing staff available on the floors. The staff that is there is very caring and supportive, even when patients are having behavioral issues. However, like most facilities they are understaffed. The nurses are very caring though and even gave me personal contact information so that I could call them for updates. However it became confusing when I didn't want to call someone's cell phone directly and off hours and wanted to just call a general nurse's line which was often hard to reach and receive callbacks from. It also wasn't clear going into it how the process is for moving in would be and what specifically we'd be responsible for versus what the facility would provide so some of that was learning as I go for example laundry service versus taking stuff home to wash. I also did not know anything about hospice until after Dad had to go to the hospital for pneumonia and came back in a pretty rapid decline. I probably would have started them out in hospice had I understood what that was for and how it worked. In the end, I guess I would say that I wish my dad could have been at home but I have grown to understand the importance of people who have the skill to manage care for elderly people especially when dementia and behavioral issues are present and cognitive decline is growing. I'm so thankful for their help and I believe that my dad had a peaceful and supportive end to his life which was very important to me.

Very helpful to get into the facility. Hard to get them to communicate with you about medical care once loved one it in there.

The administration turnover is quite high. The food is prepared by a cook, not a chef. If your loved one requires special care, make sure you're checking up on it. My mother required special care for wounds and was not receiving it.

We spent a lot of money per month for his care and many time he was not treated with dignity and things like changing adult diapers and personal care were not done in a timely manner. Also, meds weren't given when they were supposed to be given. His apartment was in need of repair and they said it would be done within 2 weeks of moving in. The food served the residents for quite a while was unpleasant to look at and almost inedible. Many of the residents were dependent on the cooking for their meals. They do have a new director so maybe that will help.

The facility is wonderful. Bright clean wide halls. Location is fantastic as it's close to everything

It is geared more for the elderly who need walkers to navigate. Too expensive.

Some of the caregivers need lessons on how to handle personalities of their patients in memory care. They need to be taught how to manage each patron's emotions/personalities and the cues to watch for. The director, although very nice, needs to learn how to make families comfortable when they are expressing their concerns. I realize it's a very difficult job, but some sort of assurance that concerns would be addressed would be great. She often just nods her head, takes note and it feels like nothing will ever change. I do know that my request for more help especially in the evenings was finally addressed and I'm thrilled that they've hired more caregivers for the overnight team! This was a huge challenge for me because only one person would be upstairs while another team member would be on a long extended break downstairs. At least one of the residents needs two caregivers to help him get up. There's no way he is safe nor are the others in case they need anything. The other challenge is, it's very difficult to be let in or get out of memory care when you are a family member visiting their loved ones!!! This is not good because sometimes it takes 15 to 20 minutes until someone can let me in or out. I am not the only one that has had this challenge as family members. I'll talk about this being an issue. While nowhere is perfect, I found StoryPoint at prospect to be a good place for my mother. There are some challenges with communication and staff to patient ratio. With that said, they have hired more help and overall this has been a good experience for us.

I would give Storypoint Bronson 3.5 to 4. They could have done much better with onboarding and charging from the first of the month when Wayne signed the contract even though the apartment/keys weren't ready for another week or so. When the movers were scheduled we let Storypoint know, they did not tell us painters were working in the hallway the same day. No one came with the information manual until we'd asked a couple of times. Work that was requested before the move in date was either not done or not cleaned up after. But, other than that, the move has been a success.

My mom has not been there very long, she was moved to memory care shortly after she arrived. The facility is very nice and the food is good. The care depends on the caregivers and I know there is a shortage. Dealing with the situation they have I would say 3-1/2 memory care. They struggle to figuring out how to have any kind of activity for memory care residents when all that is needed is a little research on their end.
