The facility, nurses, food and aides were great. My brother was promised to receive both mental and physical therapy...which, after being there for 3 weeks, hadn't received any. He had just had a stroke. After the 1st week and me finding out that he hadn't had any therapy, I asked them why he hadn't. They told me then, not throughout the week, that there was trouble with his insurance. Apparently, the card that was in his wallet wasn't his current card, though the hospitals were able to confirm his insurance through that card. This went on for 2 more weeks, even after I had supplied them with his updated current card. 3 weeks and still no therapy of any kind. So, yes, unless you're sending an elderly just to be there as a retirement home, the amenities were nice but still very pricey. If you need certain care or therapy on top of that, I wouldn't recommend going there.

While my mother's experience in the community was excellent and the staff was supportive, I have encountered significant difficulty and zero follow-through from management regarding the final billing after her recent move to memory care. The apartment was vacated and cleaned out on [date removed], following a formal move-out letter submitted on [date removed], stating a vacating date of [name removed] (we moved her earlier than anticipated). Despite moving out and giving notice, the full November rent was charged to my account on [name removed] My subsequent attempts to receive a final bill have been unsuccessful. I was told on [name removed], that a final bill would be emailed to me, but I have not received the document or any further communication since that time. I require an immediate final bill that resolves the November rent charge and a confirmed date for when the refund will be processed. The lack of communication and promptness regarding a financial matter is

The people are polite. However, there seems to be a high turnover rate for employees. When there was an issue, it was difficult to make contact with anyone when I called the general number. It's best to email a specific person to address any issues going forward.

It was adequate enough. My mother did not like it there. One of the nurses was nice. The room was fine. When she had limited use of her hands, the food would sit on her tray until I visited to feed her.

[name removed]is beautiful, and the people were nice. Communication was very poor. Probably not a place that I would recommend.

So overall, I think that elder care facilities like independence, village are overpriced but when comparing this to other facilities, the value for what you're getting is extremely high. The people are wonderfully nice. They're always pleasant when they call me if there's an issue and I've shown a lot of patience with my mom and she got used to her new living situation.

Staff and administration is great when you are looking at the place to see if it is a good fit. The more assistance my mother needed. even as she was still appropriate for assisted living, the harder it was to get my calls answered

The administration is very helpful and accessible which I appreciate. The dining options are lacking a bit although they seem to be making some changes so hopefully it will improve. The biggest concern is the caregivers. As in most places there is a general disconnect between what is supposed to happen and what actually does. More staff and better training and communication is needed. The facility is very nice so waiting to see if StoryPoint will make improvements to care.

We've only been there a short while but already there were 2 incidents that I felt were very poorly addressed. Be a good advocate.

They have gone through several cooks. Mom does not care for the food. With areas of improvement, we would recommend Danbury Huber Heights to other families.

They have some great people on their staff and a nice facility but it's big and sometimes things fall through the cracks. I would recommend it to others with the caution that it's probably best for lower-needs AL-level seniors. It helps to know the right people to talk to there, but that can take a while to figure out.

Friendly staff. Food is mediocre. Not many activities. Clean. Prices go up significantly each year.

The staff are kind, helpful and available. The food is consistently tasty. The apartment is livable. It's a good place with good people. I don't know if it's right for me. The activities are childish.

The caregivers are nice and seem to genuinely care about my father. The community as a whole is clean, and the residents are friendly. I feel that they can work on their communication with staff and families.

Food was awful, wellness dept. understaffed and need more training, especially how you treat and talk to senior residents, housekeeping understaffed. Management was not easy to work with

The staff, i.e. aides, nurses, CNAs, are very caring. But this facility is for much older residents, not people my mother's age (78). That is one sticking point I have a problem with. The majority of residents have varying levels of dementia. And don't expect privacy. Food is terrible. If I could rate 0, I would. Probably the only positive thing about Dominion is the care staff... the ones who directly care for the residents. Administration stinks too. Sorry... but that's my honest experience with them. The cons outweigh the pros. I would not recommend Dominion.

My mom liked the beauty shop and dining experience. For some aides, it was a calling. For others, it was not. The place was kept clean.

There are a good number of caregivers and ancillary staff to clean and do laundry. Maintenance staff was very responsive but teams couldn't reset the provided internet router for the resident so family needed to do it The cafeteria did not have "always available" options if the main courses weren't to the resident's liking despite speaking to Leadership and café leads

They need more workers on days and 2-10 shifts. I liked the main person at the receptionist desk, very helpful. A few of the nurse's aides were very good. They are extremely nice selling it to you and that's where it ends. They don't want to be questioned so I didn't trust that.

The facility is clean. The activities department have good variety of activities daily it's OT at its best. There is a few staff who actually know and I believe care for the residents. Unfortunately they are understaffed we know this is a universal problem. We wish there was a better communication portal to access medical care. I.e. my chart . For staff and the medical POA. I mean this is a department that the cognitive skills are diminished and trying to find out change in care or meds is difficult. We also realize as far as nursing care goes. ... Not there. Which is frustrating. BUT... That being said. We ended up at Danbury for a couple reasons. We had 2 people from 2 different facilities tallmadge and Hudson. Basically sell the package. Our situation was also a need for residence for our father in law and Hudson was able to meet that. He is living in the story point facility right next door . Which was perfect. Overall. Our mother is safe. Participates in activities and generally is doing well. It's not perfect. But no place is.
