The residence is bright, cheerful, wide hallways that my mother enjoys walking daily.....staff are helpful and available for whatever my Mom's needs might be....

The StoryPoint Farmington Hills facility is first-rate. But what truly sets it apart are its people. The aides and staff are incredible. So compassionate, kind, patient and understanding. The effort and care are extraordinary.

Had to get mom moved in on very short notice and of course over the holidays. Getting her settled in a new place after living in the same house for 70 years was not going to be easy. The friendliness and kindness of the staff and caretakers was a big help to all of us and my mom. She is feeling more comfortable in her apartment but still misses her house. Looking forward to nicer weather and being able to get outside more.

Overall, our family's experience has been good. The staff are all caring and kind. Residents meet as a community in the evenings like a traditional home setting. As with all care facilities, it is imperative to stay in communication with nursing staff to assure specific care is provided.

The facility is overall a very good place. Clean and friendly, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Rooms are pleasant and roomy. Mom is happy with the food, which is great for a lady who was very particular about the meals she made . It would be nice to see more staff on duty, but that seems to be a sign of the times, it’s hard to find good people who want to stay in one place. Great activities, and occasional field trips.

Mom is independent living and doesn't receive care. However, she has needed help cleaning up spills on 2 occasions as she can't get down on the floor. I had to go clean up the spills because no one responded to her request for help with this. Residents need a way to page housekeeping in situations like this. The food is okay but mom doesn't like seafood which they serve a lot. The need more options. I wish she could afford to have a bedroom, rather than a studio. This is a very nice facility and I don't want to let perfect get in the way of good!

This facility meets with my overall approval when comparing amenities, room size, culinary, and medical transportation versus costs. There is always room for improvement but the over physical structure including apartments and common areas have recently been upgraded.

This is a very nice facility. Modern and updated. The staff are very friendly and in memory care they are very patient with the residents .If I could make a suggestion, it would be nice to have a little more activities during the course of the day. Since the residence don’t leave the facility, they need a fair amount of activity to balance out their day.

Good facility...but pricey, so "we" have high expectations. Our resident does NOT have dementia but even so the squeaky wheel gets the grease. Advocate! Advocate! Advocate! On behalf of your loved one. Once you are past sales you need to keep on them...

The food is sub par. Repetitive, and not very well seasoned. Occasionally good, but sometimes very bad. Very disappointing because one of the reasons my daughter chose Everlan for me was that she was told the food was good. In fact, I will be moving into an apartment in May, and am looking forward to cooking for myself. I should have graded the food even lower. It's been bad the last few days-I have fixed a snack in my apartment, rather than going to the dining room for two days.

I like the activities and special gatherings and comradery that I see. There is many things to do to keep busy. I really have no communication with management

Did not appreciate the care in assisted living or the activities. We had a care plan that was not followed at all. Everything was very clean and up to date. They could improve on following the care plan they made. Probably need more staff

I live 1 1/2 hours away and had to follow up during each visit. Not much encouragement to get out and socialize. Basically my Mom just sat and watched tv/slept. I got the " understaffed", which I did notice, but for [fee removed] a month I expected more. My Mom was at the end of the hall and I felt like she got the short straw a lot of the time. I did address this w/ [name removed] and it improved for awhile but not consistent. The staff was very enjoyable. and pleasant. I see them associate with the "guests" which is nice. The food seemed "cheap" but I know Seniors are fussy and cold fish sticks are fun. I didn't see fresh salads w/greens...maybe a different food truck each week could be encouraging. The activities seemed boring. Maybe more music entertainment? Local no schools or church singers? It is too expensive The facility is pleasing to the eye but most patrons aren't capable to walk from one side to the other to see a movie or get an ice cream cone. I enjoyed the staff there, very friendly and willing to help when asked. Over all I wanted a nice, clean environment for my Mom to stay where she was safe. Real good security in the building. I did feel she was being looked after adequately...we always want more for our loved ones. As for recommending- I certainly would. Stay involved, check up and follow up, like at home. My concerns were always addressed with courtesy. Living a good distance away I felt confident my Mom was being cared for.

Staff are awesome and their administration is also the facility is beautiful and clean. Many room sizes in the amending these are offered. You have to talk to them because they are different each person.

I have been associated with Danbury for little over a year . I gave them a 4 star because I often witnessing the aides in the dementia Wing spending too much time on their cell phones and not enough time engaging with the residences. My dad often seems bored with the activities that are offered as many of the crafts and games seem centered around women . They need to have more "male oriented" activities. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help in anyway. Overall, I'm comfortable with the atmosphere that is there knowing it is not a nursing facility..........

I like the activities, but service of some of the wait staff could use improvements.

The one and only problem we have had is with the in house company they have that you can hire to help with mediation. We had a really bad experience with them and do not feel comfortable with them taking care of my dad's medication so we are now looking into moving him to the assisted living in story pointe so their people will be taking care of medication. Everyone else and everything else we have been extremely happy with. Every administration and facility staff member does a great job of being welcoming and making the transition easier. They have went over and beyond to help my dad settle in and get involved.

The staff goes above and beyond to make sure residents are welcomed and get involved in various activities. The staff gets to know residents and all about their families. The facility is super clean.

The Sanctuary Grande is a wonderful facility. The grounds are wonderfully kept and the interior is spotless. Mom is amazed at the food and food selection. She keeps saying she is going to be charged extra because they have so much food. She will hardly believe me that it is just another fine feature of the facility. The only thing that would make it better is if they had more evening activities. Mom is a late night person, so she gets lonely and bored in the evening.

Frequent staff turnover and sometimes not enough staff to respond to residents in a timely manner, but even the new staff are friendly and helpful. Bathrooms could use a more thorough cleaning, but average. Chef prepared meals. The chef meets w each new resident to learn of their preferences. Excellent selection of meals. Dining room is beautiful, like a restaurant w cloth napkins, very nice dinnerware and goblets. No plastic utensils, except when a virus was going around. When there was a virus going around, everyone was confined to their room and meals were brought to each resident 3 times a day. Music presentations. Movies, day outings, exercise classes, hair salon available certain days, family and friends holiday dinners, crafts, and lectures. Room and board has a yearly rate that increases each year. Level of care is added, 3 levels available depending upon the resident. Level of care is set up w the initial admission, then after 1 month then routinely every 6 months. Level of care will be re-evaluated if the health status of the resident changes for a month or more. I found Story Point to be much more reasonable w pricing and level of care than several I visited. They have extra levels that allow for a 1, 2, or 3 person assist rather than just one person, which was very valuable for my husband, especially as his level of care changed sometimes monthly. I found Story Point to be the friendliest even w frequent staff changes of a previous assisted living facility. They almost always stop to talk with you, call you by name, even the administrative members. They also cry with you when your loved one passes. The apartments are perfect size w generous sized bathroom. Kitchen has the necessities, sink, cabinets, and refrigerator. No need for an oven or extra appliances as a dishwasher. The building is very modern and exceptionally clean, also always smells nice.
