I have toured several times and always see people enjoying the bistro, visiting with friends or taking a class. The staff are attentive and genuine. It is a great community for both active independent people and also for those needing supportive care. And the food is amazing!

The staff is kind, and Independence Village is well organized and well kept. They allow pets, which makes it feel more lively and connected to the world. I wish it had more walkable access to other places in the area, like stores and parks, but otherwise a very nice place.

My mother has been a resident of Governor's Village for the past nine months. She loves both the administrative staff and support care personnel. As a family member, I feel very confident that I chose the right facility for her. I really can't say enough great things about GV. They listen to your requests and take immediate action. I love that fact about them. They remind me of her monthly supply of medication and always keep me informed of my mother's medical status. They genuinely care about each and every resident and do whatever they can to make them feel comfortable and loved. They have a lot of daily activities and monthly outings for the residents. Everyone enjoys and looks forward to those events. I am so glad that my mother is here because she has truly found a place to call "Home".

Governor's Village is a very special place to call home. They provide a very warm, caring environment for each and every resident. My mother has been living at GV for almost a year now and I have total peace of mind knowing that she is well taken care of by loving and caring staff. They truly understand each resident's needs and provide quality care and service. I know my mother is receiving the best care possible and I truly appreciate every day that GV is taking care of her. I could not imagine my mother any place else. She has found her home at GV.

Mom had a great respite stay at this community. We had an issue with mom's medication and the caregivers here helped with this and they also helped with a small medical issue she was having. The caregivers here were a great advocate for us. The entire staff are caring and nice. The community is clean and we would use this community again.

We as a family decided that it was no longer safe for our mother to be alone in her home. My mother was not pleased to be "sent" to a facility. After looking into two other facilities in the area we chose I. Village Waterstone. It wasn't even a close comparison with the other facilities. The transition wasn't easy for my mom or our family however, the staff at Waterstone worked with all of our concerns and made us as a family feel welcome. They were also attentive to our concerns and timely in their adjustments to any care that was required. The staff treats the residents as though they are all family and I know that sounds cliche, but it was evident every time that I spoke with someone about their genuine concern for our mother. They were there to assist us as a family with one of the most stressful situations we have dealt with as a family with regards to our mothers care. But, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Independence Village Waterstone to anyone who is looking for a quality, clean, and caring independent or assisted living facility for their loved ones.

My mother moved into Powell Sr. Living at the beginning of Feb '17. She had been living in another facility in the area for the last 8 yrs and had become very unhappy. Now that she has moved she couldn't be more happy!!! She needs to have a handicapped apartment which was not completed at move in time. The staff at Powell Sr. Living couldn't have been more helpful by suggesting that she move into a smaller apartment while hers was being modified for handicapped living. She has had nothing but wonderful thinges to say about the staff, food, amenities and her temporary apartment there. As her daughter, I also couldn't be more happy with Powell Sr. Living. All of the staff has been most helpful with this move and I truly feel that we have found the best place for my mom. It is a beautiful, new, spacious facility staffed by the most wonderful people who are truly dedicated to making the residents feel at home and making sure they are happy with delicious food and a great activities program.

I was looking for a new home for my brother, who has numerous health issues. He needs some assistance with his medications and encouragement to eat 3 meals a day. I contacted A Place for Mom for assistance, [Removed] contacted me and suggested Wescourt in Saginaw. My husband and I toured the retirement community and were very impressed. I was assured by the onsite Home Health Care staff that they could provide what my brother needed. The cost of his apartment combined with 24/7 nursing staff is still $1200.00 less expensive that his previous assisted living apartment. We took my brother the next day to have lunch at Wescourt , I knew he liked what he saw there. My brother wouldn't come out of his apartment at his previous place but he couldn't wait to explore Wescourt on the day he moved in. He has been living at Wescout for a little over a week and he seems very happy there. I spoke to the staff and was pleased to hear that he is spending time in the common areas with other residents and he is going down to the dinning room for meals without the staff coming to his apartment to get him, which was a huge problem at his old apartment. I have great hopes that my brother will do well at Wescourt and has finally found his forever Home at this stage of his life.

It has really been a good experience for my mother since her move to this community. I'am very comfortable with the care she is being provided with. The staff is great, they are very helpful, and kind. This is a very positive environment for my mother. Everything has worked out very well. This is a community I would highly recommend, it is a nice place.

I like this community as mom is in better shape than she has been in the last few years. The staff in the locked down memory care unit are attentive. They do their laundry. They offer activities such as crafts, puzzles and exercises. The community is clean it is like going to a four star hotel. This community does not take Medicaid. I would highly recommend this community.

My sister liked this community. It was closer to her home, but she wanted to be closer. The community is nice and clean and we liked what it did have to offer. We know other families would like the care and the value of this community.

My mother just moved in to Oxmoor Lodge and to date our experience has been very positive. The staff and management of the facility have all been very kind and responsive to our questions and needs. The facility is very clean and the residents appear to be very happy and content.

My mother moved to IV one year ago from out-of-state and was anxious about the move. Her concerns were quickly put to rest due to the personal care and attention given by ALL IV staff members. Simple things like knowing her name as she walked down the hall, or passed through the lobby, meant so much to her and still do! This IV team of professionals may begin with the Front Desk personnel and Community Specialists (first points of contact), but continues all the way through their entire team (wait staff, maintenance workers, activities team, bus driver, etc)! No regrets in choosing Independence Village under the direction of Debbie Hall.

What struck our family was the caring staff, top to bottom, and the happy residents. We are very happy in our selection.

My husband was in respite care while I was out of state and he was safe and happy. I would definitely recommend it.

Independence Village is a well maintained, safe independent living community. Friendly courteous staff. Will opportunity to socialize.

My dad was a resident at Spring Meadows/Naperville for 7 months. It was Dad's first Assisted Living experience. Even though he suffers from mild to moderate dementia, dad was not initially a happy camper. He shared his disdain freely in the beginning. To the great credit of the staff, they showed wonderful patience and gave dad the kind of love and support that normally only come from immediate family. My wife and I live out of state. Dad has few friends left and fewer immediate family members, we took our initial cue to trust my dad to Spring Meadow from a wonderful lady from a Place for Mom, (I highly recommend to anyone who needs information about the elderly to look into this site) who answered my prayer and the phone. (Prayer because I had no idea what I was doing when dad suddenly needed care and a new place to live) She gave us leads to call a few places in the same area, but she was most positive on Spring Meadows. Spring Meadow was my first call and only call. After being on the phone for about 30 minutes, i made the decision to move dad sight unseen (other than the pictures on their Website, which are authentic and accurate) to Spring Meadow. It is most difficult to have a love one living in an assisted living facility because you think that you have failed them by not having them live with you. It is even more difficult when the loved one is over a thousand miles away. I am not going to say that I was perfect or Spring Meadow was perfect, I wanted immediate communication with staff whenever i called to check on dad. I had to learn that it is a work place for staff and they had more than dad to care for. But we/i worked thru that and overall i was very impressed with the care that dad received. I just move dad to be closer to me. Not because of anything that Spring Meadow's staff did wrong. His dementia is getting a bit worse and I needed to have him closer to me and my son and my two grandchildren.

Security is great. Excellent Food. AM café and evening meals wonderful. Many great activities to participate in.

This community was my parents first choice. The Staff were nice and the community is clean. This community, however was out of our price range.
