I was referred to Story Point for the care of my Fathers widow by her primary care Dr. I built a relationship with the Community Specialist over a 15 month period as our family made decisions about her long term care. The counsel and direction received was extremely helpful as we moved forward with the process. After meeting the Executive Director, Nursing Director, and other staff members I knew we made the right decision. The compassion and knowledge they showed gave me full confidence in their ability to ensure the health, safety, and well being of our family member. It was a true team effort form the beginning to end and helped our family navigate an unfamiliar and difficult journey. I would recommend the community to anyone!

It is a beautiful community with extremely nice people. I wouldn't hesitate to go here. The are comparable in price.

It's amazing and the community has attentive staff. They have cottages, and allows seniors to have their independence. The residents can then transition to the next level of care in needed.

We chose Sunrise at the time because of the convenience and we needed a temporary place for him to stay until another facility opened up. The room sizes here were quite adequate for his needs. The staff here were terrific. The neighborhood type of the facility were very nice, so it was not a big huge facility. I would recommend them and have been.

All the staff is very friendly and helpful. During the coronavirus pandemic, they have kept us safe. Thank you!!

I entered the retirement community, Independence Village of Grand Ledge (IVGL), in January of 2019. I had investigated other places but felt IVGL best suited my needs. Unfortunately, shortly after my entry the pandemic hit us forcing many changes such as eating alone in our rooms, no visitors and many other restrictions. Therefore my evaluation will involve my experience in atypical times. I am in “enhanced living” which means I get three meals furnished as well as all personal laundry done. All of these services have been performed by the housekeeping staff in a very professional manner with few snafus. The food is nutritional, but of course sometimes it lacks something, usually due to my own dislikes. Considering cooking for large groups can be difficult I would say the food quality ranks about eight on a scale of one to ten. Recreation and entertainment is, of course, limited in these difficult times, but the staff has done a remarkable job in providing in house” recreation and entertainment. These activities include card games, bingo, crafts, movies, wii bowling, and other group activities, etc. Also a snack cart comes around several days per week which is appreciated by all. The entire staff is very friendly and strives to help us with issues that might arise in our stay here.

We loved the community, but it was hard for our loved one to communicate due to the language barrier. All of the staff members were great, they were really lovely. However, the food according to our loved one was not that good. They had small portions and the food was very repetitive, but we do think that could of been caused by covid.

StoryPoint Chesterfield is an excellent facility. The physical facilities are wonderful and exceptionally well maintained. But what makes StoryPoint an excellent choice is not necessarily the physical facilities, it is the people, from top to bottom. Every person that we have come in contact with is caring, compassionate, and wonderful to deal with. They are willing to go above and beyond, no matter the problem or the time of the day, or the day of the week. The caring attitude is infused in every staff member. My mother-in-law is in a similar facility and so I am able to compare the two facilities, and StoryPoint wins in every comparison, hands down. I have no reservations about recommending StoryPoint Chesterfield.

My grandparents moved into Story Point after my grandmother suffered a stroke. Unfortunately she fell ill and died a few months later. The staff were attentive and caring during this very difficult time, only made more challenging due to the pandemic. Shortly after my grandmother's passing, my grandfather fell into a depression. The staff has been so incredible in staying in contact with him and getting through this very difficult time. I am thankful he is in the caring environment and surrounded by the staff at Story Point.

We chose Independence village because of the location and when looking it had good ratings at the time as well. The room sizes here are very spacious, she is very happy with her space. Overall, it has been a good experience and I would recommend.

We chose StoryPoint Portage because I liked the newness and cleanliness of the facility. When I went in for an interview I really liked the staff, the director especially was great. They have [name removed]'s Care inside that is separate from StoryPoint but you are able to hire them for care if you need it and they were not good. I would tell others if you do have to hire them, to put cameras in your loved ones room so you can monitor them. Before covid, the activities that they provided were fantastic. I would highly recommend StoryPoint Portage.

My dad absolutely loves it here. They like having him there too and it shows. Every time we go in there it is very welcoming and overall just a great place. It feels like home regardless how many people are here. I would highly recommend.

Independence Village is pretty expensive but we do think it is a really nice community

Everybody is so cooperative and generous. They are all easy to get along with. The food is very good and the activities are fantastic. Keeps us busy. Very easy access to our apartment.

I just love it here! The people are all so nice. I can't wait to meet even more! The food is always good and there is plenty of it.

Story Point is a great private home for elderly people who wish peace and quiet and many friends. There are good means and various activities to do.
