Spectrum Retirement

My mother had a terrible fall and broke her arm. While mom was in rehab, the family decided to start looking at assisted living. I toured several places and then I toured with Tina at the community, she was wonderful! There are 4 siblings and we had lots of questions and concerns. She showed us around and was very helpful. We decided to bring my mom to tour and have lunch. At first mom was not on board, but Tina introduced her to other residents and mom decided she would give it a try. Mom has been at Highpointe now for 3 months and She loves it.

In June 2014 our 94-year-old mother moved into Assisted Living at Palmilla Senior Living, Albuquerque, NM. Overall, our family has been very pleased with the facility and her care. Inevitable kinks along the way have been resolved, and she is doing great. The facility is clean; staff is courteous, upbeat and attentive; the food is very good; and there are lots of activities for residents to enjoy. Thanks to these attributes, and to the recent addition of in-house physical therapy, we have seen a noticeable, positive effect on our mother's mental and physical well-being. In fact, she is doing better now than when she moved in. Having unfortunately experienced the opposite end of the senior-living spectrum, we deeply appreciate the caring and professional atmosphere at Palmilla.

My mom moved in to Lincoln Meadows a month and a half ago. The staff there have been wonderful to work with. They have helped make the transition an easy one. My mom loves her new apartment and has already made several nice friends. She has made the comment on several occasions she doesn't know why she didn't move sooner.

Everyone here is so friendly, they all say hi when we pass them, and are very tuned into their residents. The only issue we had was that some of the aides, the caregivers were taking their breaks in my moms apartment. That was disconcerting, and after we reported it, we haven't had another incident since. It's very clean, extremely clean. They take care of the residents really well. They have lots of activities and very fun activities too. It's definitely one of the more upscale places.

The staff are friendly are friendly and outgoing, and talk to the residents. We can't rate on activities, because he was only there for a short period of time. The cost is very expensive. The location is close to my house, which is what we wanted, and convenient to the highway.

They were very helpful in placing my mom in the right area and they are taking good care of her.

My mother recently moved into the Memory Care section at Palos Verdes. It was, by far, the nicest of any I had looked at - the common rooms, dining room and hallway are very attractively decorated. The room was the largest I had seen - there's no sense of being cramped, even tho' it's a studio apartment. Additionally, the food is great.

My dad has resided at Three Oaks since October 2013 and it has been a very good experience for all of us. He was in a nursing facility before moving to Three Oaks - Three Oaks is nothing like a nursing home. It is clean, has good food and has wonderful, caring staff. Individual apartments ranging from a shared apartment with separate bedrooms to a 2 bedroom individual apartment. Many activities daily and a flexible team looking to make the transition a success.

We can't say enough good things about Dan! Our loved one is so happy here! There are a few small issues however. One being the dogs. Some bark in the early morning when going for their walk waking up the neighbor , and they are intersperced throughout the building. Also, the leashes cause a safety hazard because people can trip over them. The transportation is also an issue sometimes. Other than that, the meals are great! We feel like our loved one is safe and well taken care of here. The staff are all so friendly and know the residents by their first names. Whoever hires the employees are doing a great job! They have a wide variety of activities and it's such a beautiful place! It would be nice to see some of the exercise classes later in the morning for residents who are late sleepers.

The communication between the morning and evening staff could be improved. I think the food is wonderful. There are a few of the staff that are particularly friendly and helpful. They offer aging in place so to speak. They have Independent, Assisted, Nursing, and Memory Care all here.

My mother became of resident of the Park Meadows Memory Care facility in January 2014. While still at home she had become extremely withdrawn and oftentimes she was very uncooperative. I didn't know how the staff of Park Meadows would be able to deal with her. But the nurse and activity director knew exactly what to do and after only a couple of days my mother began to come out of her shell and participate in activities with the other residents. I can't say enough good things about the activities director and the head nurse. In addition Park Meadows is an attractive facility with beautiful furnishings. The common areas and the residents' rooms are always clean. I highly recommend Park Meadows.

After touring various facilities (to many to count!), we found that not only was Palos Verdes Senior Living the best fit for Dad's needs, but the overall picture of care available for him gave us such peace of mind too. There are the various levels of care that we expect that he will be happiest here than anywhere else. Thankfully the staff and the residents have made Dad, and us, feel very welcome in the short time since Dad moved in. He was not one to participate in activities in his ‘over 55 neighborhood’ (he & Mom lived there for over 20 years) because of his decline in health, lack of ability to physically balance when outside, signs of early dementia, and the politics that always rear their head in those types of communities. We hardly recognize the outgoing personality that Dad has become. His health has improved, he is developing friendships, and his willingness to try various activities that he would never have done while living on his own. The facility is very family friendly to visit as there are various rooms that are open for large family gatherings, as well as, Dad’s apartment is welcoming too. We are so happy to refer others to visit Palos Verdes as a great option for a loved one.

Pauline has only been there a week, but seems to be settling in well. She is out with others and seems to be fitting in. Communication is wonderful. The smoothie they made for her and the other residents was fabulous. The quality and care of care givers seems heartfelt. I think she will be very happy at Westview. The private bath and bedroom are perfect.

Knowledgeable staff, tried to understand where we were in the process and catered the tour to that. Clean facility Alot of amenities Freindly staff Sent follow up info quickly Informative.

We toured recently. Rooms were beautifully remodeled. The property is in the process of thoughtfully completely remodling every room before a new resident. The food was lovingly prepared and delicious. I liked that the activities are centrally located on one floor. The view to the west is fantastic. Medium sized spaces in many areas for social activities. Searching for mom this ranks high on our choices.

Overall, most of the caretakers are friendly, prompt and caring. There is one person whom I feel is not too responsive but other than her, everyone is pretty good.

Everything about this independent/assisting living was excellent. The restaurant was extremely nice and had many options for dining hours. And a variety of food selections. The rooms were beautiful and had a nice choice of floor plans. Very updated decor. The outdoor space was wonderful, with a nice patio to eat out and a beautiful view. There were several game rooms which were being utilized by many. A very nice library. My sister felt it may be a bit large for her, so we are still deciding. There is quite a waitlist, so that is not a problem. Our tour guide was very accommodating and gave a great tour.

The afternoon entertainment was wonderful. The first group was classical and they is my favorite type of music so I truly enjoyed it. The second set was the saxophone Quartet and they have been here several times, but they never get old and they are very enjoyable.

The room size was very good Nice view from his room Food seamed good he did not complain. Friendly table mates It did have a long hallway walk his room was very near the end! They had quite a selection of things to do Amazing he enjoyed the bingo ! 10cents a card ! Movies Nice pt gym, centrally located. Friendly staff. Important.

The room was great and bright and airy. Staff were fabulous professional and caring. My only complaint was the meals. They were mostly spicy and ethnic foods unsuitable for elderly palates and there was no options for the residents to select from. Hope this helps.
