I am so happy we found Mountain Park for my (now) 90-year-old father. He has had his own apartment in assisted living at Mountain Park for three years. Three years of carefree sleep for me, because I know he is safe and cared for. I visit him nearly every day, at varying times of day, so I really know what goes on. Everyone is so genuinely nice and caring. Everyone calls my father by name and keeps me informed of how he's doing. The wait staff even has his fruit salad and root beer waiting at "his" table every day for lunch! He eats with a group of gentlemen his own age whom I have come to love and enjoy visiting, too. There are lots of activities going on which they are certain to try to include him in. He doesn't always remember - and socializing isn't really his "thing" - but if I'm not there, then a staff member usually cajoles him into participating. He ends up enjoying himself most of the time; and, if he's not having fun, someone helps him back to his apartment so he doesn't get lost. The grounds are lovely, as are all the common areas. The movie theatre is a treat we all enjoy when a movie with which he's familiar is being shown. His apartment is cleaned, his laundry is done, and his linens are changed. All regularly and thoroughly. All I have to do is enjoy our visits! The housekeeping staff is a true joy. I chat with most of them nearly every time I'm there and I can tell they know, respect, and enjoy my father. He's not a "tenant." Mountain Park is his home and everyone there is there to make his life easier. I can't imagine my father living anywhere else.

My husband and I care for his elderly parents living close by in their own home. She has dementia (but believes that she is as capable as she ever was) and he is legally blind (but remains physically active; is fiercely self-reliant; and is anxious about having to learn new ways and faces due to his vision deficit). Because of their declining health, independent living is no longer an option. And should my MIL live long enough she may need memory care services. After investigating area retirement communities for the last few years, my husband and I had selected the top contenders and convinced my in-laws to visit one. My FIL voiced several concerns - and I knew that it was not the best fit - yes, it was a fine community - but it was not the right/best fit. When I met with [name removed] in the Westerville Senior Living sales office and learned about WSL's soon-to-open facility, I knew that I had found what I had been looking for. WSL checked more boxes than their competitors. No, it does not offer skilled care or rehab care..but my in-laws don't need those services. They need the best fit - for right now - and WSL is it. And here is why: * It's pet-friendly...the dog can move with them. * Assisted living 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom (with walk-in showers) units are hard to come by and my in-laws like their own space. WSL's apartment is spacious and beautifully appointed with high-end finishes. It has LARGE CLOSETS with adjustable rods; is flooded with natural light; has plenty of COUNTER TOP SPACE in the bathrooms; AND has a STACKED WASHER AND DRYER IN THE APARTMENT! There is NO STOVE in the kitchenette (which is perfect for my in-laws). The refrigerator/freezer is not full-size but not dorm-size - it's just the right size. * My FIL can continue to garden - year-round - because WSL has a GREEN HOUSE and raised flower beds on the sky deck. * WSL has a simple floor plan and ISN'T TOO BIG which will make it easier for my FIL to learn his way around, even with his vision problem. * If my in-laws make friends with residents living in the independent-living apartments, they will BE ALLOWED TO EAT WITH THEM. * There is a bistro, OPEN 24/7, giving my in-laws every opportunity to eat when they want to eat. * The MOVIE THEATER will be a hit with my MIL. * An on-premise salon (every AL facility I checked into had one) will be a huge convenience. * The exterior is beautifully landscaped and offers lots of paved sidewalks for walking and places for sitting. For me, what I personally like most: * How price-competitive WSL is - their pricing beat or was comparable to others. * Its convenient location (and so close to St. Ann's Hospital). * ALL the residents will be new (no cliques). * Everything is new, thoughtfully designed, and handsomely appointed. Yes, function is everything, but isn't it nice to be both functional AND beautiful? * On-site memory care is available. Shortly after meeting [name removed], executive director [name removed] reached out to me. And then she offered to review my in-laws' LTC insurance policy. Over the 4 years that I have been investigating senior living options for my in-laws, I do not recall anyone ever offering to review their LTC insurance policy. And wouldn't it be lovely to maximize the benefits of that expensive policy? I was impressed that WSL was sensitive to this. I believe that Westerville Senior Living is not only the best fit for my in-laws, but is also a wonderful addition to the Westerville community. If you are considering independent living, assisted living, or memory care for yourself or your loved one/s, I encourage you to investigate Westerville Senior Living.

My mom LOVES living at the Enclave. [Name removed], [name removed], and [name removed] were such a big help getting mom on board with moving. Since moving to The Enclave at Cedar Park she eats like a queen and has a social calendar FULL of activities she love participating in.

I work in the healthcare field and Three Oaks is by far one of the best Assisted Living Communities in our area. The staff is loving and knowledgable, the nurses are very professional and are clinically capable, and the environment is comfortable, welcoming and stimulating. You honestly feel like home no matter who you are. I would recommend this community to anyone I loved.

The building itself is phenomenal! The staff is so friendly and they really do go out of their way to make you feel special! The food is incredible and you really feel the quality throughout the entire community!

Las Palomas is a beautiful community and the staff is so friendly. I am very happy to see that my mother has made new friends and is enjoying her new home at Las Palomas. This is a great community!

My husband and I have been looking at Senior Independent Living facilities for several months. We visited four companies and really liked Mountain Park Senior Living in Ahwatukee the best. The rooms are beautiful and the dining rooms and community rooms are set up perfectly. The rent is very reasonable, especially compared to some of the others we went to. We have toured the facility twice; once with [name removed], and once with [name removed]. They are both wonderful hosts and are very friendly and fun to work with. If, and when, we are ready to change our lifestyle to community living, we will go to Mountain Park Senior Living!

I don't know where to begin. The beauty greets you at the front door. [Name removed] was our guide. She showed us the rooms, the dining area, the areas that were for being with others and the ones that could be rented by the residents for private use. I fell in love but I am unable to afford it.

We are quite satisfied with the service of all personnel; administration, housekeeping, food service and maintenance. The food is good and the servers are curious, prompt and make good suggestions. The activities are interesting and varied. Finally, the residents are friendly and outgoing.

So much more than brick and mortar! Approximately six months ago, I was in a situation of having to find a memory care community for my wife. My requirements were high. Three or four days into my search and after having visited way too many communities, my son and I were visiting Westbrook Senior Living in Streamwood. During our visit, we were fortunate to have met the Director of the Memory Care Unit, whom we talked with at great length. And we met many members of the staff, and just happened to have an unexpected “interview” with the daughter of a resident of the community who was there to pick up her Mom for an outing. My question for the daughter was brief and to the point, “How would you describe your experience at Westbrook?” Her response was a short five word sentence which said it all, “The staff here is amazing!” After experiencing Westbrook for six months, I fully agree with the daughter's five word review. An example of this is easily illustrated by the fact one of the caregivers who we interacted with as my daughter, son, and I were setting up my wife's room, asked what day my wife was coming into Westbrook? When we told her, she said that was her day off, but she would come in that morning because she wanted to meet my wife, and she did. Over the past months, I have experienced and observed much within the memory care unit. I am impressed with the Caregivers philosophy of family. Several of the staff have said to me they consider those in memory care as family, and it is evident. One day as I was leaving, a Caregiver was walking in with a huge birthday cake she had purchased for all to enjoy in celebration of a resident's birthday. I have received calls from the Director keeping me informed on the transition progress of my wife. I have witnessed many times, staff sitting with residents on the benches in the halls, just talking and keeping them company. I have witnessed the Director playing cards in the early evening with a new resident helping in the transition process. I have seen and heard laughter many, many times among staff and residents. It is unusual to not see a smile on the faces of staff. It is evident the staff enjoys what they are doing, and the residents enjoy the staff. The brick and mortar of this approximately three to four year old facility is outstanding. It is extremely clean, attractive, well maintained, comfortable, has many amenities, etc. One would hope that is true of any place that someone calls home, and it certainly is here at Westbrook. But in my opinion, the staff is what makes a community like this exceptional. Echoing the response of the daughter I just happened to meet during our initial visit to Westbrook, “The staff here is amazing!'

This is by far the best place to live! New and beautiful, friendly, helpful, even picking us up at the airport, providing snacks the first night at our hotel, recommending doctors and other services we needed. Apartment is large, bright and beautiful, activities are plentiful, and the food is out of this world good! The staff always listens to the residents and includes most if not all of our suggestions! This truly is a place of humor and happiness. We couldn’t be happier!

I moved my mother to Palmilla six months ago from another facility and it was the best decision! We had originally looked at Palmilla several years ago, but they didn't have any openings. I was so happy they did this time! Mom is so much happier and all the staff are so friendly and caring. I could tell [name removed], the Memory Care Director, enjoys his job and cares about the residents. I would highly recommend Palmilla Senior Living to anyone who wants a compassionate, caring staff, a beautiful newer facility, and peace of mind about the care of your loved one!

I looked many places and Palmilla was by far the best option the staff was supportive and the entire move-in process went smooth. My mom loves her beautiful apartment and she is really happy and is meeting new friends! Huge kudos to the staff at Palmilla they were amazing and very welcoming and friendly and they answered all my questions.

My mom came to Dougherty Ferry when it first opened and has lived here for over 3 years. She loves it here and thinks the staff, management, caregivers and residents are wonderful! I know that she would not be thriving this well if she lived on her own. She really enjoys happy hour the most, she can socialize and dance to the music. There are always fun things to do. We are so happy we found this community for our mom!

The staff here is fantastic. This was the friendliest community I have ever been in. Everyone seemed very happy! I could not move my mom in as she needed higher care, but I would have in a heartbeat.

When my mom, [name removed] at 87yo. announced she was ready for "a new chapter" 'in her life & wanted to move to assisted living our family began to explore options for her move. It seemed a daunting task as she had been independently living in her current house for the last 50 years. She values her independence & we found WCAL a contender for supporting her wishes. On our first visit we found everyone we met to be so welcoming & so very willing to listen to our concerns about this "new chapter". Always encouraging & willing to answer any & all questions that we had. As we left that day mom said, " I really like it there". Upon our second visit our feelings for this amazing place had not changed. We were ready to make our decision. My mom has moved in & since then she continues to feel independent in her new place while meeting some of the kindest & most respectful people that she chats about often. The staff works hard to make sure she feels capable of making her own decisions. She is always invited to participate in any activity that she chooses. The environment is absolutely beautiful. A place I highly recommend! Three Oaks is a wonderful residence for a loved one. The building is bright and shining clean, with a lovely charm and very pleasant atmosphere. A very warm and welcoming environment, which is so important in a difficult time of transition and change. Whether it is staff or fellow residents, people are supportive and positive, like an extended family. Rooms are very neat, spacious and clean, with nice amenities, good lighting, a large restroom, and ample closet space. There are plenty of activities to do as well, a small but charming library with two computers, books, and magazines, as well as a movie theater, rooms to read in, engage with others, or just relax, such as the bistro. Staff at Three Oaks is to be highly commended; whether it be CNAs, nurses, or people in the offices, the director, or staff in the kitchen, people are upbeat, hardworking, and always going the extra mile to try and address any concerns or questions a resident or family members might have. And yes, the food is truly delicious, not a common compliment when one is reading a review of an assisted living, or a nursing home. Healthy produce, with nice variety. I have nothing but praise for Three Oaks, and am happy to have found a place--after having seen a number nursing homes and assisted living residencies for both parents over the past few years--which quickly feels like a second home.
