After 2 visits my daughter and I really felt this was my best option. I paid the move in fee and gave [Removed] my 30 days notice today.

I had the opportunity to visit Southview on Wednesday during a luncheon. I can't express how impressed I am with this community and it's entire staff. I left with the feeling that Southview is definitely a place I would be very comfortable referring clients to. Thank you [Removed] for a wonderful lunch and providing us with much needed information about your lovely community. I look forward to building a relationship with Southview for seniors in our area.

My grandmother spent 2 years at Park Meadows prior to her passing. She was very happy there. It is a very beautiful, well kept atmosphere. The housekeeping staff always kept her apartment clean and were very kind to her. She always had very good things to say about everyone that worked there. Before she got sick, she loved all of the activities that Park Meadows offered. I would recommend Park Meadows to anyone.

My husband just moved into Lombard Place a week ago and we could not be more pleased. The move-in process from start to finish was very smooth and the team went out of their way to assist us with an emotionally difficult decision and to make the physical move as seamless as possible. Staff is all very caring and attentive. The facilities are very clean and there is a very homey feel to the place. We would highly recommend Lombard Place to anyone who is faced with having to transition to assisted living!

My uncle moved into the assisted living side of Cedar Lake over three years ago. For the past year, he has resided in the memory care area. I visit with him at least three times per week, so I am quite familiar with the staff and many of the residents. I give Cedar Lake five stars, not because everything in these three years has been perfect, but because the concerns I've had have always been addressed promptly and with genuine care and concern. I chose Cedar Lake because of its location near our home, and also because it is small, personable and warm. In a smaller community, it is easier to get to know the staff and residents. When my uncle moved into Assisted Living, there was [Removed] trying to help him over come his shyness and participate in activities. Then, as he started to become weaker, the Assisted Living Director, [Removed] would personally go in and help him dress, toilet and whatever else, because he was calmer with [Removed] around. When I was out of town, and my uncle needed to move into memory care, [Removed] physically made that move for me, furniture and all, and made sure he was comfortable. When I returned, I quickly bonded with [Removed], the Director of memory care. She was loving and attentive, and even my uncle liked her. Two months later, she took a new job, and [Removed] was hired. [Removed] has a completely different style than [Removed], but in these 10 months, she has proven to be a fantastic Director. She is completely hands on, with a bright shining presence. She doesn't sit and observe. She is a partner to the fantastic care staff, serving meals, holding hands, and singing! Any concerns I have, she takes the time to give careful attention and understanding. She is never defensive, and strives to make any adjustments I ask for. The caregivers deserve medals and praise, especially [Removed]. I'm sure I've forgotten some. They are patient and always willing to fill me in on any change in my uncle. Believe me, he requires a lot of patience and a thick skin! Lastly, they recently replaced the activity director in Memory care with [Removed]. What a blessing! She involves the residents in every aspect of the day, from games and reading, to making Christmas ornaments for their tree, and even had them plan and prepare for a fantastic party for their families! She also sends emails with personal photos of my uncle interacting, which I am often not there to witness. That never happened before! Is Cedar Lake perfect? No. There are times I have had to call and ask that his room be cleaner, and sometimes the communication between the staff in shift changes is not great. The staff overturned too often in the first couple of years, which I suspect is because the parent company, Spectrum does not pay as competitively as some others. I have had a substantial raise in his rent in the last year, so I am hoping some of that increase is going to the staff. I'd like to keep exactly the ones that are there right now! Would I recommend Cedar Lake? Absolutely! They have cared for my uncle and given me peace of mind. I'll always question if I should have him here with me, but I know I cannot do all that they do. I am very grateful.

My mom lives in the Memory neighborhood. The new staff seems to be making a huge impact overall. I spent some time there this past weekend and its much cleaner and enjoyable. The environment was calm and my mom was actually smiling. I can't tell you how pleased we are with the changes. Thank you.

We have just moved my parents into Rigden Farm.[Removed] have been more than accommodating and the staff have also been very friendly and helpful. The residents that we have met are also very welcoming and friendly and the food is top notch. I can't be anymore positive about our experience so far.

My mother has been there for 4 months now and she loves the place. The people are all so friendly and nice, from maintenance to cafeteria, cleaning - the entire staff. Residents are happy, friendly, sociable - she has made many friends. She loves her apartment and the activities. They provide a LOT of entertainment for the residents. It is also a secure facility - someone is staffed 24 hours at the front entrance, cameras throughout. I am very, very pleased.

Rigden was very light and bright, had a wealth of amenities and activities and a slightly younger age mix.[Removed] was most helpful in explaining all that Rigden had to offer, and how it differed from other communities. This is on the short list.

I took a tour here when looking for a place for my Father-in-law and it was nice. We ended up picking this facility because of the dining hall. It’s open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and he could eat at any time in the day. It’s more of a restaurant dining with a menu that varies every day. The other thing I liked is that they offered a lot of other free services like using the fax machine, printer, and transportation. It has been a very nice experience and the staff treats him nicely. I would recommend this facility to other families.

This place is very clean, and the administration seems to know everyone's name. Everyone here is kind and very helpful. My mom is in the assisted living and there is a program she attends daily with memory care to do memory stimulating activities, then they go eat together. And the food is really good so far. If we ever have issues they are on top of it. They are open to feedback and very accommodating to my mom's needs and wants. I would recommend this to my friends and family.

I lived here for 9 years and I liked it very well, but it got to be more and more expensive. They started charging for everything. The staff was kind, nice, and helpful. I would recommend this place to my friends or family.

When I toured this place the staff was nice and helpful. They answered all of my questions. It was a beautiful place and the memory care was amazing. The residents seemed happy. It just didn't have an option for a fixed monthly fee. So we couldn't plan and be comfortable. We chose another community.

When I first walked in, I fell in love with this facility. It has better management, more activities, and it's well run. They have a lot of staff and they are really good. They're concerned with my well being and make a point to check on me throughout the day. The activities require more concentration than other places who keep you busy with mindless things. They offer a lot of group things like board games, card games, trips to lunch, and they have entertainment come in sometimes. The other thing I like is they have a computer lab and a library. I would recommend this community.

A beautiful place for senior living. Very modern good location

My brother and I worked with deciding to where our mother would reside. [Removed] from A Place for Mom assisted us by giving us a list of names to go tour. My mother immediately chose this location because it is near her home town and the other places were a bit father out than she wanted. It turned out that it is the right place for our mother and she is enjoying her time there (she lived there for 6 weeks now). At first she was a bit hesitant, but after a while she adjusted well. The staff is very nice, attentive, and the tenants as well were very inclusive. By this time from her first day she does activities and has a table that she eats at with friends that she met. The food there is excellent and I have not heard of anyone there that had experienced a bad meal. They have a great selection and the atmosphere has a nice restaurant feel. They do activities at least once a week. I know that they do bus trips; the tenants would sign up and go on bus trips that would go to a number of places. They might go to a park, a historical part of town, sometimes places to do shopping, or somewhere to go get lunch. Recently they went to a place to enjoy Halloween decorations. They just go to a variety of places. Sunday morning they have a trip to go to a church since they don’t do service on site. The bus driver joins them and they come back as a group and my mother just thought that was really nice. It was all included with no extra cost. I would recommend this place to others. However, there was only one main drawback. They don’t have any grounds to speak of. The physically setting is nice and the building itself, but there was no grass or tress. Since this place was in a suburban area there wasn’t really anything to look at if you were to talk a walk outside. But the facility itself was still a nice place.

It has now been one and a half years that my mother has been an assisted living resident at Cedar Lake. My family and I have always been pleased with the quality of care and positive atmosphere that the CL community has provided for her. I am privileged to be able to spend a good deal of time with mom in the community, so I have an extensive first-hand awareness of the day to day life there. Cedar Lake is first rate in all departments, from administration to activities, from nursing to desk staff, from food service to housekeeping. If I had to highlight just one area of exceptional quality, I applaud the "Department of Fun." These are the people who plan and execute the daily activities available to all of the residents. I am constantly amazed by the creative and stimulating ideas this incredible group comes up with. The day always starts with a physical movement session (of course, all activities are voluntary!), and usually followed by a hands-on activity that could include gardening, baking, and all sorts of other possible creative crafts. The afternoons are loaded with a wide variety of opportunities, from brain games to outside entertainment to a weekly bus excursion. Friday afternoon Happy Hour is a fun social occasion, and there is a nightly movie in the theater. My mom is in a program called "Residents Club," designed for those residents who may need a little more "hands-on" care. It is an extra monthly charge, but it gives my family a higher level of comfort knowing she is being looked after. We are so happy that we found Cedar Lake for mom, and I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a great community for their loved ones.

Over the past several months the memory care unit has shown a marked improvement. Kudos to Chris!! The dedication of the staff and focus is much improved. A little more activities for stimulation would be better.
