Our experience with Dougherty Ferry AL AND MC has been a nightmare. Staff changes are frequent. In our 16 months with the facility, there were 3 executive directors, 4 directors of nursing, 3 business managers, 2 sales managers, numerous receptionists and countess resident aides and housekeepers. Communication goes unanswered for days/weeks, and is often not responded to at all. There seems to be no recourse when care plans are not followed by staff, and refunds for services NOT provided is not granted. You must fight for the rights of your loved one frequently Even cameras installed in your loved ones room does NOT guarantee needs will be met. Regional managers are most often no help as well. After we found our father soaking wet from mid back to knees three times in one week with NO COMMUNICATION BY STAFF as to WHY his care plan was not being followed, we left facility. A refund was not granted, apologies were not offered and we still await a response from numerous staff members.

Silver Glen tried to charge us 30 day fee and also try to bill us for room repair painting, both combined were approximately $[fee removed] She was only at Silver Glen for approximately two months when we had to get her out of there because of the unfair assessment practices they said she needed 24 hour care but they didn't have a room available so I had to pay for a 24 Hour Nurse . I was told she could spend the rest of her days there Which obviously was not true. Within two months, her fees went from $[fee removed] a month to $[fee removed] a month beaten switch get her in the door and jack up the prices. The state attorney should really look into silver Glen's business practices.

If your loved one needs memory care, and they are in the later stages of Alzheimer’s, this is not the place. Not enough staff to help the residents and only ONE nurse for the entire facility! Because of this, my loved one was never given his meds on time.

My mom lived at Peakview for less than a year, and during that time we continually had issues with medication management (including forgotten medications and refills), oxygen monitoring (left with no oxygen for periods of time), meal delivery (including forgotten deliveries meaning mom didn’t eat) assistance with personal care and moving around the apartment. We were paying for care items that were not consistently provided, which caused unnecessary stress. Our concerns were either ignored, or treated as over-exaggeration. Management was terrible with communication and answering questions in a timely manner. We finally made the difficult decision to put our mom through a second move to a different assisted living facility, and the difference has been like night and day. We were drastically overcharged at Peakview for subpar service for our mom. Our mom is doing so much better after leaving Peakview. Please save yourself and your loved one from the nightmare that is Peakview.

Our mother was forced out of [community removed] because they decided to close. She died the 3rd day she was in Lombard Place, and hospice did the bulk of her care. Lombard Place refused to return her $[removed] community fee...as did [community removed]...but at least she had been at [removed] for a year...and they had the gall to keep $[removed] for those 3 days. We chose Lombard Place because her hospice company already went there 5 days a week and we thought extra eyes would be good. We really felt ripped off by this company and there was little to no kindness shown for our situation.

Creve Coeur assisted living horrible so horrible. My mom was only there six months and they never did her laundry. They left boxes in her walkway so that she could fall and get hurt. She either wandered the halls by herself or slept. They never did anything with her to engage her like they promised, I moved her six months after moving her in there. She has been at her new facility since the end of August of last year. I would not recommend anyone give them any money or and trust their loved ones to the care of these inept horrible horrible people

This is for memory care- They are under staffed, 2 Aides for 29 Residents. Medications not given or given incorrect Medications. Never changed or showered. We do that or have asked Hospice to help. We do Laundry and administer her eye drops. Not worth the $[removed] a month

So the sales person there told me that they wouldn't be raising the rent because I wanted them to sign a contract for the rent and raising it and putting a cap on it and she promised me they wouldn't be raising the rent well they've raised it twice already in my mom hasn't even lived there a year so several people left [community removed] and went to Green Oaks with my mother and most of them have left now and went to other places because Green Oaks get you in there and then they raise the rent on you.. My mom was disappointed in the activities and the food that they give you for happy hour. It's very sparse so I called [name removed] the executive and talk to her because whenever my mom would ask them to do more activities or if they could play bingo and would they please buy some candy for the bingo? The girl would tell my mom that it's not in their budget. My mom was very upset so I called [name removed] and lo and behold [name removed]. I asked [name removed] not to tell [name removed], the activities person what I talk to her about and she went and took [name removed] right to my mom's apartment to talk to my mom and verify that [name removed] would say that it's not in her budget and of course [name removed] Said that she never said anything like that. So my mom is moving and we're very happy she's moving because Green Oaks is not the place to be. They have many apartments available now because of all the crap they've been doing.

No staff at front desk after 8. Doors locked. Family etc cannot get in without a key. Food is poor. Safety issues Don’t care and residents are afraid to speak up State various items that are not true 24 hr food available is an example

There is nothing good about that place! I wouldn't take my dog there for boarding! The staff was lacking skills, competency, compassion. The only one there that cared about the residents was nurse [name removed],. There is just too much to say about the horrendous care my mother received there. The biggest was that she didn't get her meds and after being told repeatedly that I was less than 5 minutes away and I would come give them to her......was never called, she didn't get her meds and would have outbursts! I was told by one of the night nurses that it wasn't convenient to crush her meds and sneak them to her. I live with the regret of ever trusting that place with my mom. She was physically healthy when she went in there. She was physically there for 2 weeks and then removed (for the second time). She was taken to Riverside where she stayed for a month because ([name removed]) said she had to be 24 hours without a sitter before she could come back. She was at Riverside for 4 or 5 weeks, she had a stroke and I was able to bring her to my home to pass with hospice care. They can change the name all they want but until they get staff in there that really cares, pay them well, and vet people......it will all stay the same. Since my mother's death, I have talked to several others who have had loved ones there, I am/was not alone.

Well the facility is beautiful but there is not as much checking in your resident as you are lead to believe. It was very understaffed especially in the evening which is when my dad tends to get up, get dizzy and fall so I was disappointed by that. I could tell you several things that happened that influenced my decision to move my dad but it would be a lot to write here. I would prefer my name not be on this if you post it anywhere.

In 2021, I thought this would be a great facility for both my parents. Everything was great when I first moved them in. Living out of state, I was proactively notified if someone had fallen or there was any health concerns, which gave me great peace of mind. 12 months later, all of the staff, whom I and my Mom and Dad had established relationships left. There were instances when my Dad was taken by ambulance to the ER without notifying me. Management does not return calls. 2024 - Sadly, both of my parents have passed away (my Dad in Jan.) yet I’m still receiving past due invoices for charges I less than $[fee removed], after paying $[fee removed]/mo., no one will return my calls. I could go on with other examples, but unless you are local, can actively monitor the care of your loved one and want to manage monthly billing, I would NOT recommend this facility!

My mother was in Silver Glen for 2 months and I had to move her out !! After she contracted a UTI while at the facility She was reevaluated as needing to be placed in Memory Care, Silver Glen did not have a memory care room available for my mother to transition into. ( I was told during the sales presentation Silver Glen was able to handle her needs in every stage of her dementia & Cancer until she passed) So the management at Silver Glen required me to hire an outside 24 hour nurse to live in her room for an additional $[removed]per day raising the monthly bill over $[removed]a month with no end in sight, Management couldn’t tell me when a room would become available, the situation was financially unsustainable, speaking with management was very difficult, it was days before emails were answered the director [name removed] was very inexperienced in dealing with people, in conclusion after 2 months I had to start the process of finding another facility all over again from out of state.

We had a poor experience with HighPointe and ultimately did not move our dad into this facility. We agreed to move our Dad into assisted living (AL) and moved his belongings into an apartment (where very unclean floors required us to scrub them by hand). But HighPointe was not upfront about their assessment of residents and sole use of a “slums” score to determine AL versus memory care placement. They made no exceptions, even though their doctor and executive director both recommended AL. We were told corporate overrode staff recommendations and would require Dad to move into memory care. Staff indicated that the contract Dad signed would be void. We chose not to move him in and found another AL facility that was a better fit and willing to meet Dad at his level. Although they said they would refund the first month of rent and community fee, they are now refusing to do so. They lack transparency, integrity and good communication. We do NOT recommend HighPointe or any Spectrum property.

The move in process was horrible. There was no organization or documentation of what we needed. We were constantly told we needed just one more document. They did a phone assessment before she moved in. My MIL was in for 3 weeks and then we were given 24 hours to take her out. No warning. She was able to escape out an emergency door twice. They took no accountability for her escaping. Even though she had an appointment with her neurologist 2 days after, they didn’t give us a chance to get her medication changed. They were extremely understaffed. They did not encourage her to participate in the activities. I would definitely not recommend this facility to anyone.

There is NO communication between staff and patient families. We send emails requesting information concerning the well-being of our father that go COMPLETELY unanswered. Staff turnover is quite high at all levels.

Silver Glen is a corporate run facility Their management structure is run by young inexperienced, incompetent fools, your loved ones will get in on a lowball price, and within the first couple assessments, the price will double, if your loved one needs to move to memory care, and they do not have a room you will have to pay for a private 24 Hour Nurse, in a nursing home Run away from this place !!

My loved one was moved after she had a fall there and we where told that she could not return with out rehab but her memory was to far gone for her to take direction so they shouldn't allow her back the stole [fee removed] from us and [name removed] the person in charge over there refuses to talk to us will duck and hide when we show up and will have other staff members there call us on her behalf.

My sister left there after about a month because it was so awful. Everyone seemed very nice but I soon realized my sister wasn't showering. When I brought it up they were not very helpful. My sister didn't need help just a reminder to shower every day. She had a hard time adjusting. Actually she never. They had her meds all messed up. They were giving her ones that she no longer was supposed to take . Someone had found meds that were in a cupboard that shouldn't have been brought to the facility. Nobody ever checked with me about any of that. Very concerning. When my sister moved in we did not even see a nurse. I'm sure that must be a requirement for admission.

Do not consider Dougherty Ferry for your loved one. They are understaffed, disorganized, do not live up to the expectations of the residential contract. Don't expect anyone to return a call or an email - it doesn't happen. I left hand-written messages at the front desk and no one responded. They do not administer medication responsibly. Memory care residents do not receive cues for meals, hygiene, or medication. On several occasions we overheard residents at the front desk complaining they have not received needed medications. There is no respect for our elderly.
