Spectrum Retirement

The sales team at The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living made us feel like everything was running smoothly and that they were making improvements. After moving my mom in, we quickly realized that this wasn't the case. The Executive Director was let go a few weeks ago and corporate came in to hear feedback from residents, but nothing has been done to make improvements. They need to hire more staff and more qualified staff. Meals are taking 1-2 hours and the kitchen and dining room are not cleaned well. My mom has quit eating in the dining room because she feels ill when she does. The activities offered are very limited. We would not recommend this community. My mom calls it an old folks home because that's how it feels. She wants to live somewhere where they want to help the seniors thrive and be active. Enclave is not this place.

This facility is understaffed to provide level 4 care. They made promises to provide level 4 care for our mom in memory care but it wasn’t provided. There were many instances where only one staff person was caring for 8-10 memory care patients. My best advice to anyone moving their loved one into this facility is to place a Wi-Fi camera in their room so you can monitor the care that your loved one may or maybe not getting.

The dining room has been a problem for years and it still is today. Residents can't get what they want to eat, they are always out of basic items and it takes forever to get served your food. These are all basic functions of any caferteria or restaurant and Green Oaks has not been able to figure it out. Also the cleaning service is supposed to come every 2 weeks and you are lucky if you see them once per month. Other than this, the rooms are nice and the residents are freindly.

While the staff is compassionate and friendly, the facility is understaffed, like many facilities. What is especially unfortunate is that they are inflexible with adjusting the amount they choose to bill in the 30 day period after my family member left the facility. His care level was at their highest charge as was his medication administration. Yet, now that he's not there, they continue in the last 30 days to bill the full amount rather than reduce it to a lower care level. He's not even there but they refuse to adjust the bill. Their reasoning is that they plan 30 days in advance the staff they will need based on the care expectations. While this makes sense, they are understaffed and would likely not be sending anyone home anyway. It took me having to call corporate before I was given this explanation. Up until that call I was told, "Sorry, it's the policy". I don't hold this against the care staff as they were great.

I would not recommend the community to anyone. Everything was wonderful in the beginning, and then after a while things started to go down hill. The staff was constantly changing. The family would have to clean the apartment, laundry, and more for our loved one. This was supposed to be included in the fee per month. The pills would be left and the staff wouldn't watch our loved one to take their medications. The promises weren't fulfilled by the staff that were told to the family. Hospice was wonderful to work with my loved one and family. The therapists were wonderful to work with my loved one. The meals were chosen for our loved one instead of our loved one getting choices. There are fees for delivering meals to the resident's rooms.

We picked this community because, it was close to our house and they had availability when we needed it. They were very nice and accommodating when we moved my father in law in there. We changed our opinion after he was there a few months and moved him to another facility. I would not recommend to others.

Management turn over is a big problem at Westerville Senior Living. The dining hall has no set process to serve and the food takes long to be served and it's usually cold. There is very little help with getting residents from wheel chairs to dining chairs. The facility is lacking in ADA features - the doors are too heavy, the floors are slick, the elevators close too quickly. Communication between staff and family is lacking. The Nurse Practitioner offers very little. The medications are distributed at odd hours. No, I would not recommend this facility to others.

I liked that it was closer to central Phoenix but there were two things I didn't like 1) the sales lady spent more time talking about the community instead of trying to find out what my Moms needs were and 2) It smelled like a urine filled nursing home. And that was in an independent living side. The smell was horrible. I was afraid of what the assisted or memory care section smelled like.

My mother in law lives here. Many promised services not delivered in reality. Examples: The only vehicle for outings was out of service ~ 4 months. Furious staff turnover. Lacked a cook for weeks, wait staff bravely tried to cook so there would be food, but not good. Pay to have meds supervised because of memory problems - despite repeated instruction that they MUST watch here take them, they don't so we frequently come and find days of untaken meds. Supposed to be on staff doc, but in reality there is no care for anything other than trivial stuff that can be scheduled far in advance. Even when there are obvious serious medical problems and great pain staff is paralyzed and has no idea how to get us care. Only option is $expensive ambulance ride to ER. Don't put anyone you love here unless they are COMPLETELY independent and can drive. If you need anything other than an apartment with cafeteria, this place is bad to dangerous.

I'm very unhappy with the amenities that both of my loved one's receive/don't receive at Green Oaks. There are so many amenities that have never been available since they moved in and now they have no housekeeping because their staff quit! Maybe the management company needs to focus on the residents' wants and needs versus saving money! They're paying a lot of money for nothing......the problem is they won't complain. Poor service in the dining room. The café and coffee bar have never been open, but they advertise it. Deplorable how they are taking advantage of elderly people! I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!

The experience has disappointing for the family and our loved one. They are short staffed overall. There are limitations on choices for the residents meals and quality is no up to par. Housekeeping they are supposed to come in every other week. The family or loved one needs to call to make sure this service is getting done. We were not told about different options such as limitations of food, that guests such as family isn't able to eat in the dining room and this is still going on. This was disappointing to find out after the fact of my loved one moving in. The staff communication with the family has been okay. There have been times that I've not received a phone call back and I realize they are busy and short staffed.

I had to laugh at the response which stated that the residents consistently compliment the menu. Perhaps in the assisted living portion. There is little variety and I see them push their food away. Most is fried, frozen, reheated. Rarely do you see fruit or veggies or a real meal. They would be better off with lean cuisines and a bowl of fresh fruit. The place is gorgeous, but that's where Spectrum put all their $$$$$. Kind, compassionate workers, but if you check out reviews on their other websites you'll see the food is a major complaint. This is my second review, so it should only count as one person. Food is getting worse, not better. I will be the first to post a positive review if corporate changes the food to tasty and healthy.

We would not recommend Lombard Place. A lot went wrong during our stay here. My loved ones purse and dentures went missing and we were not made aware of it for a week. The only reason we found out was because I came to visit and asked where they were. The floor was always sticky and it just never felt clean. There were never many staff around. All in all it was not a very good experience. This was back in 2021 though, so things may have changed since then...

I don't recommend this place, the turn over is bad from the top down. The current Executive Director seems like she doesn’t know what's going on. Communication with the residents and the family is very poor. Keep an eye on your monthly statements. If your family member is complaining about something believe them and ask questions.

We were not very satisfied with Park Meadows. We had lots and lots of problems, and I would recommend NOT going there. It's a nice facility, but they are way understaffed and have all sorts of management problems.

Nice location and was generally kept clean. It was ever changing at this location because workers were revolving frequently.

Overall we like the value of it, it is priced right and the facility itself is fairly new and in good condition however there are some improvements they can make. The dining room is closer for dinner so the residents have to go down and pick up their packaged meals and take them back to their rooms - we just think being so far out from covid they would have it open but we do know they are struggling with staffing. Also in terms of activities they really do not have much going on, they said there would be a buddy system but that has not really materialized so there just isn't much for our loved one to do currently

My husband was a fall risk, and they knew that going in. But they don't allow any alarms to monitor for falls, and they don't watch the residents enough. They wouldn't put any pads on the floor or bed. He fell out of bed and out of his wheelchair. They didn't get him up to walk. Every time he fell, they sent him to the ER, and nothing was wrong with him. After a couple of weeks, I pulled him out of there. The staff were really crabby and hardly spoke English. Some were wonderful, but the majority were crabby. I have him in a different facility now that is wonderful. It's much more secure and I feel much more satisfied there.

The staff is very poor quality. They do not follow through, even with reminders. The menu and quality of food is decent. In general, our family has found that the staff is unfriendly and acts put out if we need to address concerns. The medical staff does not follow through with daily medications and treatment. Food and activities are just fair. [name removed], who was the general manager we toured with before placing our loved one, promised things that don't seem to happen unless we ask. I think it really boils down to poor management and hiring poor staff quality, with their expectations of their employees being very low. We have found the staff numerous times smoking out the back or on their phones and totally not engaged with with residents. The staff has poor hygiene. We pay for our loved one's room to be cleaned and her laundry to be done, and that is not being done. We end up doing it ourselves for her. If the resident doesn't have family advocates, I can't imagine what it would be like to live there. If we weren't there always on top of them, I don't think things would get done at all.

My parents have lived in this location for three years. Even before Covid things went downhill quality wise with meals - both with taste and variety of offerings. People constantly complain about it. Im told by some it's because it must be cooked to Spectrum's guidelines Rumor is a chef can't come in with their own recipes or modify Enclave recipes even if its what people ask for. The main draw of moving to one of these places is not to cook and an expectation of great food. All I hear from my parents friends is the joke, "Well, at least I don't need to cook." Ha Ha. Directors come and go as well as chefs. All have great intentions at first for change and the community gets hopeful. After a few months they leave vaguely explaining they had a disagreement with upper management or saying nothing at all. Programs such as a day group for people with memory problems are gone and never coming back. This was one reason we chose the Enclave too.
