A care giver gave my father someone else's medication this morning and now he is in the E.R. After spending almost a year convincing him to assisted living i am disgusted with myself and Gardens.

Beautiful building, Worst management ! Terrible experience ! I was only able to keep my mother there about a month before I had to move her to another facility. In short, my mother needed to be moved into memory care. They did not have space available, so I was forced to pay for a 24 Hour Nurse in a nursing home. Silver Glen couldn't tell me when a room would be available, so I had to pay their monthly bill and for a 24 hr nurse for over $[fee removed] k a month with no end in sight.

Lack of consistent staff is a huge problem! Sometimes they go three weeks without their rooms being cleaned. When my dad had Covid, they did not check on him at all. They even forget to feed him dinner one night. It's a good thing I am only four minutes away.

After touring the memory care for my mom, we felt the community was the best choice for location and value for our money. However, we were "sold" on a completely different experience than we received. The bulk of the activities revolved around residents being parked in front of the tv in the common area while the aides sat around on their phones. They allowed my mom to walk around in soiled clothing after meals and charged us for every time they had to help her navigate to the dining room. This is memory care, assisting residents to navigate should be an included expectation, not an added expense. And let's not mention the multitude of times they sent her to the ER in an ambulance when I explicitly told them not to. One time was for a bloody nose. Seriously?! The only time we saw the Memory Care Director was when we had a planned meeting. Otherwise, she was behind closed doors and was not at all active with residents in the community. It is kept fairly clean, so that was a relief.

They let my mom rot in her own filth for 8 months. I finally had to get her out of there places severely understaffed and untrained. If your family member has any kind of dementia or memory issues, do not bring your family member here.

First we were told that [name removed] had to be walking independently prior to moving into the assisted-living. So she had broken her ankle in rehab and we had to wait before she could move in because they said she had to be walking independently. When the rehab facility called and asked them about that. They said no that she just needs to be standing independently. Well during that month that we waited we were quoted $[removed] for a one time facility fee and by the time we moved in even though the paperwork still said $[removed]They charged us $[removed]. And then they were charging her $[removed]a month for showers and when I questioned them on that because they had never given her a shower, they looked at me and asked if I'd like them to take it off the care plan? There's a simple answer for that. What do you think? They did not clean her room like they said they would. Oh yeah, speaking of cleanliness I have pictures of how dirty the room was when we moved in. It was absolutely disgusting. Her basic care plan was [removed] and they were charging $[removed]a month to distribute her medication's. The first month she was there. She was only there one night and they charged us the full amount of everything. Her care plan went from [price removed] and I called hospice in so hospice was coming in and taking care of her and pay me a raised her care plan to [price removed] a month. So Palmilla was doing less but they charged us $[removed] more. When I questioned it And went through the care plan with them that's when I discovered the shower charge and many other charges that [name removed] was not receiving. I asked them if I could take it off the next month care plan and they told me no that corporate office had to approve it. So all of the extra charges should've been taken off for the month of July. [name removed] passed away [date removed] and instead of giving us any type of refund they charged us over $[removed]for the half a day of [date removed] that she was there. Another thing was how they ordered the medication. The first month [name removed] was there. They ordered her Tylenol and a few other over-the-counter medication's. [name removed] was there one night I got a bill for $[removed] the next month she was there three months I got a bill for the exact same medication's for $[removed] the last month she was there. I noticed they had ordered her car three times in one month. They had ordered it on the seventh of the month the [date removed] of the month and the [date removed] of the month.

My mom moved to the Enclave in Cedar Park in September 2021 at age 92. From the beginning the great restaurant dining that was promised by sales failed to materialize. The excuse given was the pandemic. The food was poor quality and residents frequently waited 30-45 to get waited on because there was not adequate wait staff. The tables are so crowded together (because the Enclave couldn’t or wouldn’t hire enough wait staff to open the other dining room) that it was dangerous for residents using walkers or scooters to navigate between them. Thank goodness my mom did not need any assistance in her apartment. She was mobile and able to take her own medications. There was CONSTANT turnover in all areas including management. We gave 30 day notice, moved Mom to Brookdale (wonderful!)in June and now are fighting for the 1/2 month refund we are due. The incompetence at this facility is truly unbelievable. Don’t move your loved one here!

Be careful who you trust with this step in life. We only had our mom in there for a month before moving her to a new facility. Director of nursing was terribly unprofessional and couldn't keep track of meds. Missed half her meds because it wasn't on her orders, setting her back. Half the nursing staff couldn't communicate with residents because of a language barrier. The food was terrible. Ask any resident. I could go on and on. By the time we left, there was no administration to talk to about any issues. I feel bad for ever leaving my mom there even for one day.

My Mother was there 8 months too long. We were always asked to be patient and give them time but nothing changed. They were always short staffed, residents wandered aimlessly due to lack of activities and care was poor. Memory care residents do not receive the same care and meals as the Assisted living residents and unless someone speaks for them no one would know. Desserts were rare and residents would wait to see if they would get one only to get up and leave the table or if lucky would get a packaged cookie. Staff are not trained to care for memory care people. Infection control is a serious issue and handwashing is lacking. The Executive Director acts like they care but it is obvious they only try to appease everyone. The company does not acknowledge issues and dismisses complaints.

Please be cautious here. My mother fell broke her hip and passed away last month. Lot of trip hazards and lack of supervision. Anytime you ask the nurse for feedback they just started the shift and had no concern. They are concerned about the bottom line and increasing revenue. Very profit hungry. I sincerely recommend to keep looking the next place we went to were not like Green Oaks.

I am quite disappointed and shocked at the lack of security, especially at night. With the recent drowning of one of the residents I would have thought Corporate would take notice...It is truly appalling that they have nobody manning the desk during the evening hours. Shame on you

The facility is more geared toward senior apartment living. The value for what you get with that is average. The surroundings are beautiful and very clean but the administration and care is substandard. They rely heavily on the in home health company which has an office on site because they are staffed for people's special needs. They are not staffed. There's a lot of movement recently with management and they have yet to get things right. If that makes sense. If your loved one needs memory care this isn't the place!

Palmilla is a place I would NEVER RECOMMEND. "0" for all questions! I was there just over a month before I moved to [community removed]! Between the $[removed]I had to pay to hold the place to all the other charges they had, I was out $[removed]!!! I am not kidding about that amount! I hadn't even unpacked but they still charged me another $[removed]+ to clean the apartment. Management was HORRIBLE & offered NO refund. The food was good but when I found a COCKROACH in my apartment they said I probably brought it with me. I also heard similar complaints from other residents who told me that when they complained they were told "if you don't like it here you're free to move " they are taking advantage of the elderly

The new director [name removed] would not answer emails. Left before scheduled meetings with us. There is minimal supervision in memory care and they have 0 activities for the residents. We took our Mom out of this horrible place and she is very happy now.

Our experience with Peakview Assisted Living and Memory Care was heartbreaking. My mother lived there from [date removed], and during that time, she endured missed medications, inconsistent care, poor hygiene in her apartment, and a general lack of attentiveness—even while on hospice. Despite a clearly outlined care plan, she was often left without help, went without oxygen after a power outage, and missed meals or received food she couldn’t access or eat. Her health declined rapidly, and our trust in the facility was completely eroded. To make matters worse, her monthly care costs kept increasing—even as the level of care she was promised was not being delivered. When we questioned the changes, the updated care plan was incomplete and filled with placeholders like “PERSONALIZE,” showing little thought or oversight. After much deliberation, we made the incredibly difficult decision to move her to another facility. It was a hard choice, but absolutely the right one. Her new

We researched many facilities when my Nanny needed more care. Lone Mountain offered tours that suggested great care, memory care stimulation and field trips or on site entertainment. Wow … we could not have been more disappointed after Nanny moved in. The poor management reflected inadequate care giving, dismal communication and the “activities” consisted of sitting in chairs on the patio, while staff looked at their phones. The promised field trips were only offered to 10 of 40 residents, the care was only good if you were fortunate to have family assisting daily or you lucked out to get a few of the caregivers who cared. Needless to say the promises of care and stimulation were non existent, once we checked her in. And yes we attempted to communicate with the Director, but once we wrote a check, she would not respond …SO thankful we found a much better, cleaner and kinder facility to move Nanny to.

Our experience with Dougherty Ferry AL AND MC has been a nightmare. Staff changes are frequent. In our 16 months with the facility, there were 3 executive directors, 4 directors of nursing, 3 business managers, 2 sales managers, numerous receptionists and countess resident aides and housekeepers. Communication goes unanswered for days/weeks, and is often not responded to at all. There seems to be no recourse when care plans are not followed by staff, and refunds for services NOT provided is not granted. You must fight for the rights of your loved one frequently Even cameras installed in your loved ones room does NOT guarantee needs will be met. Regional managers are most often no help as well. After we found our father soaking wet from mid back to knees three times in one week with NO COMMUNICATION BY STAFF as to WHY his care plan was not being followed, we left facility. A refund was not granted, apologies were not offered and we still await a response from numerous staff members.

Silver Glen tried to charge us 30 day fee and also try to bill us for room repair painting, both combined were approximately $[fee removed] She was only at Silver Glen for approximately two months when we had to get her out of there because of the unfair assessment practices they said she needed 24 hour care but they didn't have a room available so I had to pay for a 24 Hour Nurse . I was told she could spend the rest of her days there Which obviously was not true. Within two months, her fees went from $[fee removed] a month to $[fee removed] a month beaten switch get her in the door and jack up the prices. The state attorney should really look into silver Glen's business practices.

If your loved one needs memory care, and they are in the later stages of Alzheimer’s, this is not the place. Not enough staff to help the residents and only ONE nurse for the entire facility! Because of this, my loved one was never given his meds on time.

My mom lived at Peakview for less than a year, and during that time we continually had issues with medication management (including forgotten medications and refills), oxygen monitoring (left with no oxygen for periods of time), meal delivery (including forgotten deliveries meaning mom didn’t eat) assistance with personal care and moving around the apartment. We were paying for care items that were not consistently provided, which caused unnecessary stress. Our concerns were either ignored, or treated as over-exaggeration. Management was terrible with communication and answering questions in a timely manner. We finally made the difficult decision to put our mom through a second move to a different assisted living facility, and the difference has been like night and day. We were drastically overcharged at Peakview for subpar service for our mom. Our mom is doing so much better after leaving Peakview. Please save yourself and your loved one from the nightmare that is Peakview.
