They are having a very hard time keeping their help. The wait times for meals are routinely -30-60 minutes long.

Overall the facility is fine, but I have been very disappointed in the lack and variety of activities as well as the poor quality of food and service.

I can not get information on my aunt's health. I also would like more information on her bill. They add fees without notice. I would recommend this place for someone in good health that can take care of themselves. They are clean with good food and a great deal of activities for mobile people.

I have mixed feelings about moving my mom here. Let's start with the good. I loved the people working there. Many were very kind to my mom and very helpful including the people in sales, front desk, and the kitchen staff. The place was very nice aesthetically. It was newer and modern and didn't really have the " old home smell" of many places. The apartments in independent living were pretty spacious and mom really liked most of the people there. Let's talk about the not so good. First off, the food really wasn't very good. I heard complaints from my mom and also from her friends. Next up, my mom didn't really do a lot of activities but I thought there should be more to do. Finally, they invoked the 2 week move out rule because Independent wasn't working and she needed memory care. 2 weeks is not enough time to move someone into MC with no diagnosis. After 1 week, I was told 30 days is fine to move but i dealt with it. I moved mom.They kept comm. fee $[removed] no refund after 6 wks there.

They have a pool and my mom got enamored with the idea of a pool but had yet to use it once. The facility is relatively new so it looks nice on the outside but their med techs are not trained or not trained well. The medication mgmt is atrocious and communication even worse. I call frequently and can NEVER get a hold of a nurse or a tech. My mom's pcp even said yesterday that she had gotten 3 different stories about the strength and frequency of one specific med. [name removed] said she was scared for my mom's safety from her observed incompetence. Food can be really good BUT often times they don't serve what they advertise bc they run out and just serve sandwiches. They just sent a notice halting the serving of berries and would only give "whole fruit" like apples and bananas. No reason was listed. There's high turnover and the front desk lady , [name removed], is ALWAYS rude! Again, it looks great from the outside but pull back the veneer and you've got particle board nonsense that's not worth the money and if she could afford to move, I'd move her

We leased with The Oaks starting in September 2023 and have already received 2 rental increases. The most recent is a change where they are mandating the selection of a meal plan at a minimum of $[removed] per month. This is a 10% increase in the cost for a service that we did not want. Their food is poor, service is limited. They often promise the adding of services but never deliver and the shuttle services are only available on a limited basis.

Even when you pay for certain care, you do not always get it. They run out of food items a lot. And quite often, you do not get what you ordered. The rent price is good, but they nickel and dime for everything which ends up not making it economical or affordable.

It is close to my home. I'm hoping they will improve staffing and cleanliness soon. I like to visit often. However, I would not recommend Dougherty Ferry to other families right now. They have a lot of work to do. Supposedly they are having trouble with staffing.

From the outside it looked like a good place . Nice , newer facility and they had activities for the residents. Of course, I thought [name removed] would be in the assisted living wing at first . As it turned out [name removed] had to go in memory care which for a loved one is depressing . What that means is the activities are very limited when compared to assisted living.

Training staff better on how to handle folks with different degrees of dementia. The thing I didn't like about the community was lack of returning phone calls by upper management. And also when they quote levels of care they need to be clearer on exactly what that means. [name removed] was at the highest level of care, but yet he was allowed to roam the hallways by himself.

It was a really nice place. It was hard for my mom to adjust to community living. Her health went downhill, and she had to move into a full-care nursing home. But it was friendly and inviting and the the staff was great. It was really a great place.

I think it's fine, it's close by, some things I may be expecting more but I don't want to cause a fuss as it's a learning process for us as to what's expected and what's done. Overall I would recommend to others.

The facility is attractive and clean. Most staff seems friendly and nice but lots of turnover which seems to be the case in most independent living facilities. While my mom is happy with her particular apartment in Independent Living she’s not happy with other aspects. Food is not very appetizing, activities are pretty much nonexistent. Some silly nickle and dime charges that really shouldn’t be extra. It’s honestly not as advertised in the lovely brochure or as described on the sales tour. If I had to do it again I would have eaten a dinner or two and spoken to a couple of residents to get a better feel. Just do your due diligence! I do feel like she’s safe.

Memory Care Review- In general the staff that take care of the daily needs of residents are always friendly and helpful. The place itself is nicely decorated, lots of light and nice outdoor space. Activities in MC are also good considering the challenges. The food is marginal at best. The kitchen in memory care isn't stocked properly, glasses too heavy for residents etc. Minimal supplies so someone is always having to run to main kitchen trying to find something. MC courtyard landscaping not kept up like rest of community. Many weeds and overgrown. They take care of the space in early June and then just forget about it. There is only 1 working clothes dryer and it has been that way for months. My point... attention to details and repairs in MC isn't up to par as compared to rest of building. I know I notice more than the residents do. As a care giver you need to stay on top medication management for a loved one. While they administer the meds...sometimes it seems without questioning if it makes sense. I think the med management will be better going forward. Not sure if you could ever give a memory care 5 stars as the nature of the residents makes it a very challenging place to work. Despite having room for improvement, my family member will be staying at Green Oaks as in general it works.

The facility itself is new, nice and clean. The staff turns over often as does management. There is no cohesiveness to how the staff is managed and that negatively affects the service to the residents. It's not a great environment to live out one's final years.

My complaint would be that my Dad needs more care and attention and I just wasn't sure if this was the right fit because it always smelled like pee in his room and when his cloths came back from the wash they still smelled like pee. We were forced to find my Dad another place because he got into an altercation with another resident who were bothering my Dad but we had to leave. But it's ok now, He is at a place and doing much better now.

Dad has had an issue with the food service & quality since day 1. Days when staff doesn't show; limited food; or limited options.

The kitchen staff is the worst. A half hour past the time they're supposed to start serving breakfast, you see no one and when you go to the kitchen they're sitting on their butts telling you to wait. I wish someone would teach "a supposed chef" how to cook an ordinary egg, because they have no idea how to do it. Unbelievably incompetent kitchen staff in every way. There are a couple "resident assistants" with "an attitude and a half". Extremely unfriendly and just downright miserable" and everyone knows who they are but no one does anything about it.

The meal service have steadily declined. The meals are served cold, quality is just not the same in one years time. Staff turnover is a nightmare for Crestview. The number of activities are less. The guest performances on Fridays at happy hour have diminished (they say the can't afford). The cost of rent has been raised twice since moving in I believe. Raise is causing many to move. Most staff members are fabulous. They are understaffed for housekeeping and nutritional services.

There has been significant turnover in staff and workers. We are on the fourth Executive Director in a year. The best aides moved on. Housekeeping is hit and miss. Those most satisfied are bringing their own housekeeper. Families complain about lack of communication at each town hall. The move in process was not complicated. I personally think that the food is not good. However, I require a special diet that no one offers. One good thing is that they publish the menus so I can work around it to eat food that I should. The activities were great and creative for awhile, but have gone downhill in the past few months. The best thing about this place is that it is close to my location for medical appointments and also close to my family.
