Enjoyed Sunday brunch here on Dec. 21, and met with Ann Breen of the Marketing Dept. She was a delight. When I chatted with some of the residents, I asked what their increase in fees would be when they needed an upgrade in their care (e.g., from independent living to assisted living). One couple, who are quite happy at Palmilla, didn't seem to have a clue how much it could cost, and didn't seem to care. That struck me as a bit "pie-in-the-sky." Excellent food and attractively presented, by the way.

I have not toured the new facility, but went to meet managers early on. Sounds good, but a friend had a bad experience with the sister home - a bait and switch problem with fees. There are no guarantees for fee and they "re-evaluate" every 90 days. That means the rate can change. Not an option for me.

I was very impressed with this facility. It is new community and well maintained. I like the apartments and the price was reasonable. I would almost live there. Looks like it's a well fit for my father.

The activities at Palos Verdes Senior Living are very good. They keep my mom active and busy. I really can't even think of anything they could do to improve. It's a very clean nice facility with wonderful friendly staff, and mom is very happy there.

Overall things have gone well with HighPointe Assisted Living. It is a nice looking, clean community, and the staff all seem very friendly! The one big issue my loved one has complained about is that the dining room service can be very slow. They are a fairly new community, and they may not have their process down pat yet, so we're hoping the dining service speed will improve given time!

So far things seem to be going well at Cedar Lake! It's a well kept, clean, nice looking community, and the staff have all been very friendly. They're attentive and seem to do a great job looking out for their residents!

Definitely the most Updated Community Apt.,Balcony Units W/Washer & Dryer in unit,Cox Cable Included ,Movies Every Night,Exceptional Gathering Rm. for Family Functions...Catholic services Onsite or Transport to Elizabeth Seton on Sunday's .....Housekeeping Services Every 2 Weeks. Downside...Guest Parking is Very Limited and we were there on a weekday :/ It seems that she was stressing that in case of falls that they handle that situation differently between assisted & independent living area's..like the staffing is more capable of handling 24 hr. assistance in falls in the assisted living units....in the independent units it is more like ck. on them and if need assistance they call 911....I am a bit confused on that scenario....that is a Main concern of ours is to have someone there in case of a fall to help access the situation and assist them...if we put both of my parents in assisted living then they would have to go in a 1Bdrm Unit...thinking that would be quite an adjustment from their home they live in now.

HighPointe Assisted living is a great place. The experience has been ok. We're still trying to iron out some minor medical issues. Besides that, all is going good.

My wife and I have visited Palmilla Senior Living at least twice in our search for such a place in the Albuquerque area. We have done the tour of the facility, had a meal there and really liked much that it has to offer. One of the outstanding features is the view from the front of the building. It over looks the rio grande valley and the western face of the Sandia mountains. There is no better view for miles around. We could sit on a balcony or look out the window at that scene all day long. The problem is that for all the units that face that direction, and there are many such units, none of them are two bedroom units that we require. Such a shame --- to be so close and yet, we would be so far from seeing the best sight this side of the Mississippi River.

It's pretty clean, however I have found the sanitizer bag empty going into the dining room. They also seem to be short staffed in the dining room, I have to ask for what we need, and some of the time they forget. The staff is pretty friendly, they are starting to recognize me. The food is good. The medication fee is pretty expensive. I liked that it was a brand new facility, and the location.

Mom is spending a month respite care and is still there. She was excited at first, but after a week or so she is now feeling like the help doesn't want to help her as much. She is being told there are no activities for her at different times of the day and she seems to spend a lot of time in her room. Mom has low vision and hearing problems. She would like to sit at different tables when dining because there is hardly no talk/conversation at the table she is at. Mom doesn't want to "rock the boat" so she doesn't want to complain, but She is eager to get back home, which is not the experience I wanted her to have.

We toured this community when we were looking into senior living options for a loved one. This was a nice looking community, and everyone we spoke with seemed friendly. However, it was more expensive than similar options we had seen. She also would not have been able to bring her little dog, which was one of our main requirements.

The food could be a little better. The bills seem to come right when they are due and I would like to see them a little sooner. The quality of the staff is pretty good. We needed a higher level of care without that institutional feeling.

Our experience with HighPointe has been great so far. The atmosphere is very welcoming, the facility has a bright and cheery environment, and the food is wonderful. The staff is very involved as well. We have not had much experience with the activities available so far, so we are not completely sure what all is offered. Otherwise, we have loved it so far!

Place is nice, but there is an additional cost for all assistance with medicine, etc.

Overall I've been impressed with Park Meadows Senior Living, I've had experience with quite a few communities and this is one of the better communities I've seen. For the most part the staff have all been very friendly, although there have been exceptions. The director of the memory care section has been fantastic, he is very friendly, and always willing to discuss any questions or concerns about care. There have been issues with certain members of the cooking staff when my loved one requests vegan options. One thing I have to mention is that both my loved one and I have had issues with a few people here, both residents and staff, treating us poorly based on being people of color. It has improved a bit over time, but it is still extremely unpleasant to deal with and still happens from time to time.
