The do not take care of Residence. My mom lived there 3 weeks got 2 showers. The food mom didn't get feed first meal until 4p. And thatnis after I called at 2pm.. people are hungry there. They place smells bad cuz people put out there garbage/depends and it sits there for days. I could go on Nd on

Beware of rental increases. Our mom's rent is increasing by $600 as of 01/2023. It increased by $300 last year. Seems since [name removed] took over they are drastically increasing rents every year. Just beware.

From the moment our loved one moved into Morningside of Bellgrade, none of our expectations were met. It was a horrendous experience and we would not even put our dog there. The experience was the most horrible experience our loved one had gone through. The management team was non existent - they would never respond to any of our issue they had totally ignored any request we had. Our loved one was treated horrible - one day our loved one had fallen and busted her head open with blood on the floor and the staff were not attentive at all.

Our experience here was not great and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I had my father in mulberry gardens it cost me a lot of money and I don't feel that they cared for my father it was all good and happy as long as I was enrolling him it was a different story afterwards

My mother used to live at the Five Star Premier. Now my father needs to go to an assisted living. While I do not know where is going I do know that Five Star is where he is not going. They need to improve basic and important areas. The kitchen usually they will bring to my mother what she did not order, you wonder why do they give you a menu to choose from.? The cleaning of the room, it was hard to tell when they came to clean. Among other things you need patience to work with the elderly people.That is why they need to hire people that are train or train them. The tall lady and the young girl at the front desk, were nice , cordial, helpful and will greet you with a smile..

They ARE NOT A LICENSED FACILITY. They are not governed by or overseen by the state and will not keep records of when and what meds are "given" to residents. If your cared one needs any type of medical care,do not put them at Magnolia Springs. The statements in their information about personal care and getting to know residents has not been our experience. We were told that they do NOT "give" medications; they only "prompt" residents to take meds and the "prompting" is suppose to be done within one hour of when medicine is prescribed to be taken. Our dad's meds have been " prompted" well past an hour before or after they were due. They will not provide any type of medical care and seem to have NO understanding of working with residents with mental health issues. He went 48 hours without sleep and no one at Magnolia Springs had any idea. Only two caregivers work at night. Maintenance workers refused to come in during an evening when toilet was clogged.

The facility itself is beautiful but this is an unlicensed facility. This means there is no nursing staff or Director of Nursing. Unlicensed means that the state of Indiana has no jurisdiction over them and does not come in on a regular basis to check on what happens in this facility. Many maintenance issues with heating/air units. During hot weather air did not work for 2 weeks. Clogged toilets in the evening will not be taken care of by maintenance until the next morning. Staffing for assisted living in evening and weekends is 2-3 caregivers for 80 residents. Many times medication reminders were 1.5 to 2 hours after time to be given. Several times I was told “no showers tonight…we don’t have enough people” and “we are not doing trash pickup today”. This facility is more like independent living and can get by with assisted living as they provide 3 meals a day and resident activities. If your loved one needs true assistance this is not the place that is able to provide it.

Corporate is calling the shots.. poor communication with our family about care. If your love one has some “issues”, don’t take them here..

This is not a good place to take your beloved elderly family member. The level of service is extremely poor/inconsistent and the food is mediocre at best. They have Comcast cable TV, but are not set up to allow the resident to purchase an HD box (for HD reception)......seriously?!?! The WiFi is S-L-O-W........ They make all kinds of promises, but fail to fulfill them. They supposedly have 3 level of support (depending on needs), but cannot define them.......

I feel like we were sold an experience that they did not fulfill. Their sales person, who has since quit, said they would keep our loved one active and not leave her in a room by herself. That's not what they've done. They don't' invite her to activities. The activities director has quit. The business manager has quit. A lot of the top tier executives have all quite. That's one of the biggest problems I've had. I spoke with corporate and expressed some of my concerns. He seemed receptive, so we'll see if anything changes with new staff.

Discovery Village Vero Beach is the worst place in the world for elderly people. In my opinion, they spent all of their money on aesthetics and very little on internal repairs and the needs of the elderly. I was without air conditioning off and on for five months. There were two maintenance men for 300 units. The maintenance man told me that they were told by management not to take repair orders in reverence to getting units ready for occupancy. They overcharged me by [price removed] on the first month and it took them two months to resolve that issue. They never resolved any of my repair requests and requirements. I fell twice in the shower, I fainted once because of the heat. It is the worst place in the world. I asked for a one month difference to my contract so I could take a unit that was available elsewhere and not lose the opportunity. It took them two months to reply, and when they did it was only one week before I was due to move. A lady on the third floor fainted several times; she's [age removed] years old and they could never get her air conditioning corrected. The people there are afraid to complain out of fear of having no where else to go. Most of their payments are automatic, so residents never really know what's going on, and families far away keep on looting money out. It's a horrible, horrible place and I am so glad to be out of there.

Someone in the Brookdale Kenosha facility authorized my mother be put in a wheelchair which both the ER doctor and the physical therapist said improper use of a wheelchair could be why my mothers leg became contracted. I’m guessing it made their life easier because my mom walked constantly. She fell quite a few times. Not one person in that facility informed me of my moms contracted leg. It wasn’t until one of the trips to the ER and it was discovered there. I had a meeting with the director back in [date removed] and she was going to do some “ investigating” and get back with me . To this day I have not heard one word from her nor will she answer any email. The fact that the director and the RN won’t tell me who authorized the use of the wheelchair is purely inhumane. My mothers charges doubled what they were because she could no longer stand and take care of her personal needs. I didn’t even get into cleanliness (of both the facility and the residents), the lack of staff…

My mother was in memory care here for less than one year. The care she received was to say the least, sub par. They did not care for her open wound on her foot, didn't shower her, did not change her clothes for days at a time. Staff and the director made many empty promises that never came to fruition. So, please, let our misfortune guide you in choosing a care facility for your loved one. Incidentally, she is now at [community name removed] in Wauwatosa and is thriving with their care!!

Grandmother was placed here and not taken care of or supervised in the very short lived amount of time she was there. She was consistently left in a wet or soiled depends she was often not changed out of her day clothes for over 24 hour periods When I asked / raised questions concerns none of them where taken care of in fact I was surprised by what I brought to their attention that they weren’t more concerned on my grandmother behalf but they acted as if these complaints were normal and brushed them off . There were no logs as to who cared or left my grandmother in that condition and to do this day still aren’t . I often left things out in certain places to see if they cleaned or did a daily maintenance which also was not done .. I worry for the elderly their as some of them do not have family that check on them

Mom and dad lived there for over 7 years. At first in IL then in AL. Their service and food were good at first, but everything is going downhill fast. Aides in AL maybe friendly but very slow to respond. Food is not good at all. Biggest complaint in a recent survey by 5 Star supports that claim. Finally had enough and after dad passed, moved mom out. She was not getting any help when she called. Finally, I'm sorry but when Covid hit, the service went down, activities stopped yet did they offer a refund for the loss of these services and for the bagged lunches and dinners?

My father in law was in the Isles of Vero (now Discovery Village) for 4 years. They called one day saying he could no longer stay because he was wandering. When we moved him, what I found was horrible - stuff you might not notice if visiting. AC in his room had been broken for 2 months-still wasn't fixed when we moved him on 9/30/21-it was brutally hot in the room. We found boxes full of cockroach poop, ants in the kitchen, a pile of laundry with shit in it (actual shit) and shit on the bathroom walls. He had been beyond their ability to care for but they didn't notify us until he was wandering and fell outside-now he was a liability. We moved him on 9/30/21. This January they take over 4K out of his account for Oct. when he wasn't there. To date they have not paid the money back. The executive director is too busy to return phone calls. When he finally does it is to say "we will take care of it" (over 2 months ago), and "you will have the check in 7-10 days" (a month ago).

Unhappy place for a love one to ever live in. The care is inadequate. The place stinks of urine! Father was treated poorly. Example: Being yelled at by management that I was there to witness. No safety in place when my father disappeared several times and got lost. Facility didn't know he was even gone all day. Our family would look for our father 30 miles away lost.

You can't get ahold of any staff. Don't even go there. Number 1 is that no one has a direct number, there is no voicemail. They do not call you back. I have written an email, letter, etc and no one responds. I asked for an itemized bill and get no response. They said they were providing medical care and prescriptions and they cannot provide proof of it. Our loved ones room was filthy. Our loved ones looked terrible. The staff all made excuses and said "we are really busy". We moved our loved ones out of there. The move required a doctor to see them and the director claimed to have contacted this doctor. After I called the doctor , he said they never received a call. I had to handle all of the requirements myself. When we moved them in, we asked about a covid vaccine, and they said they would provide one. They had no record of any vaccine given. So I don't know what covid vaccine, if any, they were given or when. When you call, the front desk says they will take a message. They say the management staff has no voicemails? How is no one getting back to me, ever? Our parents clothing was all lost. The day they moved them out and into a new place, they came to with only they clothes they had on. This place had lost ALL of their clothing. We had to replace all of their clothing. The amount of their bill was DOUBLED after 1 month and they wouldn't provide the itemized statement of why the bill went up. Never received that.
