My loved on (unfortunately, I live far away) has been left more than two hours to soak in her own urine. This emergency happened this morning. Someone came in and told her that she can't have breakfast, left a canister of water so [name removed] could wash her face. The care here is consistently awful in assisted living. [name removed] hasn't received her mail in the month she's lived there, the food is tasteless, and she is at the mercy of a legion of "caregivers" who do not give a rat's ___ about [name removed] welfare. [name removed] and I speak on the phone every day. Almost invariably if a caregiver is present they cross-examine her. "Who are you talking to?" "Who were you talking to so late at night." It's all window dressing. Avoid this dump like the plague!

I have been here 6 weeks, planned life, moving out Friday, terrible experience, would not recommend, very rude, snobby, uncooperative, unfriendly staff and residents.

Extremely overpriced rooms not newly renovated. The smells from the carpet were terrible. Sales person was very pushy. Did not give out information needed. called them back several times for a tour did not receive an answer until a week later. No one was around doing tour, which made me suspect of the help.

Not to long ago I had a family member live there and needless to say the hospitality was subpar along with it being overpriced and having high move out fees. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The Care is really bad and the rooms are not updated. The Ed steals time is always on the clock, but never at work. She micromanages everyone time clocking them out when they’re working. She never have answers when you ask questions.

Facility wasn’t clean, bags had pampers in the hallway. Management staff was nowhere around the activity wasn’t going on. Looked at rooms and they were unfinished. Rooms poorly renovated. I would not recommend anyone to come to this facility.

Park Summit is my first experience in an Alf. Fortunately for me I found out my diagnosis and it has nothing really to do with being disabled. I had a concussion 3 years ago and it caused ( in years to come) possible mania which I now I have. Knowing why I have been so up down up down angry and scared. The medication I've been given is miraculous. I share my story because if you are not old, somewhat feeble, need medical or psychiatric assistance I guess this place is a safe space. It most definitely is not me. I'm going back to the beach and Ft Lauderdale to continue writing novels and hoping communities where political, religious, musical and are empowering not downgrading. The nonsense with food times is ridiculous. I have never eaten at such odd hours, that is evident that i made breakfast once and dinner 2x. The food is bland and boring. The activities are for people who have severe memory loss or are just happy with doing anything to occupy their mind. I have complete compassion because I was there for 2 years. I thank God and am so grateful to have my life back again. The nonsenses you "sell" about providing food, cleaning once a week and activities produce an expectation that does not get fulfilled. The internet must be 800 years old. And to get something brought up during any other time than the hours your policy provides also doesn't work. Medicine was delivered at 11am. When I went down it couldn't be found, til the receptionist actually tried looking for it. I would give Park Summit a 3 on a scale of 1-10 if you've decided your life is pretty much over and you just want to chill. Not for me. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to fully and honestly share my experience.

Administrative staff does not care about employees and that is passed off as non caring caregivers. Little or no training on how to care for and talk to dementia residents. Memory care is filthy, There is no monitoring in dining room of Memory care for choking, spills, etc. The poor residents are herded like sheep. My husband went eleven days without being bathed and went from 7pm to 4pm the next day in the same Depends! They are terrible!

Magnolia Springs had a policy in their memory care unit that if the resident had a communicable illness (flu, etc.), they were not allowed in the building. My mom picked up Flu while staying there. I was sick, myself, which made it difficult to care for Mom at home. That was the whole point of sending my mom to Magnolia Springs; I needed her cared for while I had my own medical problems resolved. Other facilities, such as [community removed] , just isolate the resident if they have the flu. They don't kick them out of the building. Magnolia Spring did not disclose this policy in their contract.

At the time we moved, they had become short staffed due to budget cuts (according to the soon to resign nursing director). Mom often had to wait long periods if time to be attended to. When help arrived, many times they were cold and often disrespectful. Somerford had placed mom on a high level of care which of course cost more, but received a poor level of care. According to mom, the food was bad and unhealthy. I saw this first hand in a photo she took of a plate full of grease.

Brookdale on Whitby is awful!!! We had to get her out of their quickly. Its like a prison for those sweet patients. They do not take care of them and didn't clean her room for 3 weeks! When I was leaving I heard other patients begging for attention! The state needs to look into that place

1 for all categories , would strongly not recommend!!! Every category above is what they could improve on. We had to get my father in law out of there. We considered alerting the local regulatory agency it was so bad.

This place we thought would take care of our loved one but this was the exact opposite. They promise all this care but do not provide it. The employee's are very nice but not capable and lazy. They only offer care as needed but not what was promised. There is a reason that this facilily is only half full compared to other facilities in the area.

It was a horrible experience. The facility itself was ok, but the administrative staff were a bunch of deceptive crooks. Never send your loved one to the Arboretum.

If you care about your loved one, you'll want to stay clear of Discovery Village in Vero Beach. The apartment complex is dirty and unhealthy for anyone to be living there. Mold issues, water coming up through the floor of the downstairs apartment and no one cared why it was happening. Filth on the entrance doors. I visited my sister shortly after she moved in and noticed mold on the cabinet doors under the sink and the outer cabinet wall next to the refrigerator. It took me constantly calling to have them finally replace the cabinets, but you can't even imagine the quality of the work on the installation. They hooked up the garbage disposal so it was draining into the dishwasher. I was there 3 weeks recently and no one came in to fix the issue. During my visit the AC unit was down for one week and then repaired but down again a few days later for 2.5 days. Pictures sent to District Manager but nothing changed. My sister moved out.

If you want quality care go somewhere else. My loved one was left alone many times in the dining area, almost an hour after meals were over. Most of the aides are hard working but the management is very deceitful and dishonest. They are more concerned about trying to deduct the rent a month after someone has died then showing compassion. The only time the food is good is when they are having the community in. My loved one was fed food not suitable for a dog. The activities are a hit or miss. Mostly don't happen. Don't let the phony video fool you to thinking this is what daily life is because it is NOT!

I would often find dried feces on my Mom’s toilet (a lot of it!) and around the base. It was near impossible to get someone to help clean it. I washed her filthy floors. This was in memory care. My mom was unable to clean it up herself and staff knew this. Her room wasn’t cleaned very well at all. Windows and windowsills were dirty too! My mom had an incontinence problem and I often found her sitting in filthy feces filled pants when I visited. Granted it happened a lot but before we decided to move her there we asked the leasing agent if special diets were followed for dietary restrictions and we were told “yes-absolutely”. Well my mom couldn’t eat onions her entire life. I OFTEN found onions in her food. It contributed to her incontinence problem. I would NEVER recommend Oak Hill Terrace memory care! NEVER. [name removed] the director had an attitude of indifference and often just dismissed my concerns about my mom’s care or lack there of at Oak Hill Terrace.

[name removed], [name removed], and [name removed]are amazing care staff in arbor and they take extremely good care of my mother. However that’s the only positive thing i can say about edgewood. [name removed]is a horrible director, the best news I’ve heard all year is that she’s finally leaving! I just wish she would take [name removed], their poor, sad, little creepy maintenance guy with her. I’ve seen his buttcrack way too many times and I don’t like the way he looks at me. Also I’m concerned about the relationship between two of their caregivers on assisted living… they have a romantic relationship where they refer to each other as “mother” and “daughter”. It’s very uncomfortable to witness. I’ve even overheard them calling a male resident “grandpa” and a female resident “grandma”. I don’t know what sort of sick incest kink they have going on but if it continues I will be moving my mom to another facility!

Unless a family member visits daily to advocate and observe care i would strongly suggest you go somewhere else. Mom declined drastically in the 1st 2 months in the facility fell twice and developed decubitus. Self care, showers, hair washing and grooming for residents dependent on assistance is minimal. All residents are taken to a TV room and packed in like sardines where they sit between meals to make it easier to watch. Cant wait to get her out

The worst issue was the total disregard of the DNR order my mother had. They resuscitated her and sent her to the hospital (the wrong hospital!). The hospital, my mother's PCP, and I had to have a conference call to make sure her DNR order was followed. Also, I was told there was going to be refund which we never got. Between the unnecessary hospital bills and the thousands of dollars that [removed] never refunded, the family had to pay the unexpected thousands of dollars of expenses.
