staff was more than accommodating - we had lunch at The Gardens and enjoyed our visit. The facility is attractive, but we found other options more compelling.

They seem to do a good job at this community. All of the residents looked content and relaxed. The facility itself is very clean, and has a nice sort of homey smell, not clinical like some places. I've also heard good things about the food. All the employees I've interacted with have been friendly and helpful.

This community seemed very nice, I saw it when I was helping a friend look into a new place. The staff was friendly, and seemed to provide good care to the residents. My friend decided on a different community, but we were impressed with what we saw here.

My friend moved here after having a terrible experience elsewhere, and the difference is like night and day. This is a lovely community, it's a like a hotel! She is doing so much better here, and is much happier now. Considering this is about the same price she was paying before this location is a MUCH better value!

Administrator Steve is very down-to-earth, seemed very trustworthy, honest; seemed to really care about the residents and their families.Memory Care unit is attached.Dining room is family style instead of smaller tables. Outside walking paths.

We loved it; it was beautiful, but my mom felt like it was too big and too busy and felt overwhelming. She wanted something a little slower and smaller. The way she put it was "I am slowing down, not speeding up!"

Too much of a nursing home atmosphere for my very with-it aunt. Sorry!

Forwood Manor was wonderful, I was looking at assisted living, thinking perhaps his wife would be able to be there and take care of him. Ultimately she decided to stay home and we went with a different community but this was my first choice. The dining room was gorgeous. There was a lot space and the activities room was very large. Very clean and friendly.

Tour guide was very good and very informative, especially with finances. Clean, no smells. Menu varied. Rooms small. Possibility of Dad and Mom staying in same room.

I toured many facilities and really liked this one as it was bright, cheery, not large and Susan was very helpful. The staff continues to be helpful. My mom has been living at Clare Bridge only for one week. I felt it was important for me to be there every day to see how mom was doing, how the staff was treating her and educating the staff about my mom. I would recommend this place to others.

They did real well. I don't like to go into a lot of detail but we're very happy with them. My mother is doing real well there.

My father did very well there. We liked the community.

My mom is also on hospice besides the care there because she really needs a high level of care. We have an all inclusive contract for $150 a day, meaning that they will never charge us more based on the level of care that she needs. The only thing extra that we pay is for TV and the beauty salon. They do usually have activities, and entertainment in the summer every weekend, but this month there is not much scheduled at all. The people are very bored. I have heard them complain that they wish there was something to do. In the summer, their plantings outside are gorgeous but they need to water them! The food there was good. They just had a turn over in management. The director is gone and they have someone in the interim until they can find a new person. I am not sure why they had the turnover.

My mother-in-law is still relatively new there so the assessment of her care is an ongoing thing but the care is good so far. There's plenty of activities. Just from looking at the bulletin you can tell that there is pretty much something to do everyday. I like it because it's relatively new. It has a modern look and feel to it. There's a lot of things there for families to do. They've got all these different rooms that residents and families can use for birthday parties and weddings and things. There is even a kids' room with toys. I think their initial assessment could be improved. It relies too much on the resident's interview rather than interviewing previous care center personnel.

I liked them. I like the one in Eugene much better than the one in Portland. Portland was dirty and smelly and not good but the Farmington Square in Eugene was much better. It was clean and nice.

They have everything from bingo to arts and crafts. Multitude of different activities. The building that she is in is all memory care, but it is for people in the beginning stages. My mother-in-law doesn't need much assistance, but she is an exit seeker. They have an outdoor courtyard that she can wander around in. They have another building right next door for people in the later stages of Alzheimer's. In my MIL's area, there are about 24 rooms. It is set up like a circle, and each building is a duplicate of the next building. They also have an assisted care unit without memory care.

My mother-in-law has a lovely room with a walk in closet and big bathroom. Quite frankly, she's too smart for the people that she's around. She's 97 and really doesn't want to cook clean or wash clothes so this fit the bill but intellectually and faculty-wise she's head and shoulder's above everyone around her. I wish there was assisted living but for people who are still with the program. The food is an issue but it's because that's a meat and potatoes generation and they try to be a little more interesting with the food choices. The accommodations are very nice and I'm glad that there's healthcare there. In those respects it's very positive. She wins at bingo and knows trivia. Overall it's very positive and the place is just lovely.

The Sterling House in Temple is very nice, but it wasn't within our price range. It has a circular layout. I liked that is is so secure. You couldn't get out into the parking lot without someone letting you. It's very specialized for dementia.

This was one of the newer places that we saw. The appearance was very nice. As far as the staff goes, though, I am not too sure. I was not impressed with the nurse that we spoke with initially. They provided all the furnishing, which would have been very helpful. The price was close to $5000 a month, which was way out of our price range. We ended up choosing a different community.

I loved them. They do a good job but somehow - I don't understand why - my husband was much more combative there. Whether it's just the way the disease is progressing or something that they were doing differently, I'm not sure.
