Employees are friendly, helpful, caring . There is a shortage of employees . Employee ratio to resident is low. If your loved one is diabetic it is a struggle. Meals are not diabetic friendly. In house doctors do not keep me informed regarding medications . They also do Not follow up with diabetic patients as to what is working. Room Cleaning has not hern weekly. This has been my experience perhaps yours will be different .

The workers are friendly and most of the nurses are caring. However , as everywhere there are not enough workers. If your loved one is diabetic you need to be involved from meals to when insulins are given. Once insulin Injections are given there is no follow up with the resident on blood sugar levels. During the night no one checks on his blood sugars. I have called at. 2:30 in the morning to wake him and give him oj to raise his blood sugar . The facility is responsive and visiting hours are generous.

There was some changes causing some disorganization. It’ took over 2 months to get things scheduled with doctors, medication and billing, once that was settled. It seems to be the right fit. The resident is safe and cared for, the other residents were welcoming and very helpful The staff is always friendly and cooperative

Attention to resident's needs, more time to understand what is needed and provide. Faster response and more attention to details that matter (eg. put Fixodent on toothbrush in lieu of toothpaste). Basically need to stop rushing in and rushing out as fast as they can. Better cleaning of room, separating clean and dirty laundry (not putting clean clothes in dirty clothes hamper. Etc. Some staff mean well and try more than others. Chef is very good. The cost is very reasonable, but they suffer in some fundamental ways. We are working with them to see if we can resolve. Not all bad, just needs improvement.

Oversold us on many things at the beginning and once we were in, what were told weren't completely accurate. Additionally, the responsiveness to the emergency calls is well over 20 minutes, which is not acceptable. The facility is very well maintained. Some staff is very friendly, while others are abrupt and uncaring. We have had issues with medicine depending and with responsiveness to ringing the emergency buzzer. Meals are okay. Unfortunately, the aides do not bring the food quickly enough to my sister when it is ready and it is frequently cold. Activities are excellent. This is on the expensive side of the ones we looked at and we are not getting the care we expected. Well-maintained community with excellent amenities and activities. Staff is not always attentive and response times to patients needs is lacking.

In my research of facilities I have found that it is impossible to determine the true operating performance of the facility until the resident is installed. The promises given prior are often abandoned with staffing difficulties, inadequate training and the lack of facility systems. The best efforts of the staff and management, while applauded, may not satisfy the extended families. The alarming transition of staff may leave both the resident and facility in a precarious position of support. Having installed the resident the effort to relocate is very traumatic on the resident who is already compromised. The vetting of "A place for Mom" falls woefully short in its presentation of facilities. The extended families, often in a crisis mode, is left with little choice often as a location may be required and the due diligence of the family limited due to the overall lack of transparency. "A place for Mom" has the ability to play a crucial place in this role. Currently it falls short.

We gave the overall experience a 3 because right before my stepdad passed we didn't feel like he was provided the proper attention. We found he soiled himself several times and also he fell and broke his leg.

Personal room cleaning needs a bit of improvement. We chose this facility because the friendliness of the staff is outstanding.

Too expensive for one thing food was ok but could have been better. Most of the help was good and easy to be with. It just wasn’t the place for us with my wife is confined to a wheelchair. Beside that it’s not bad.

My dads food is delivered to his room and its consistently cold. He's in memory care unit now and he's not allowed a microwave or stove, so he cant warm it up himself. Units and general area are clean and kept up nicely

The people were super nice, but it felt they were understaffed in the memory care wing, and most of the people in there are not able to tell someone if they're not getting the care they need. We just weren't happy with a lot of things. It may have been our unique experience...? I was noticing he wasn't helped or encouraged to get dressed daily, just in pajamas all the time, and most often, the same pajamas and Depends briefs for days without a change. The bathroom floor was always gross, and the roommate activity tracked it all over the shared space between their rooms, so the floor was always sticky gross, and with my dad in a wheelchair his hands were touching the wheels after rolling over that. I had to ask them often to please mop daily, or I just did it myself.

It was a horrible experience on so many levels . In my opinion- many ( but not all ) of the staff were extremely unequipped and inferior at their core responsibility to protect the resident placed in their care.

Since my mother had macular degeneration, I wish I would have made different arrangements as she found it very hard to maneuver around the facility. Sometimes the Employees were very helpful but sometimes She had to rely on her neighbors to help her get around

After returning from the hospital last week have noticed marked improvement in all categories. I would recommend The Wellstead community to other families, however, with explanation of what went on the first two months

When it comes to the meals and dining they are often out of basics like iced tea, ice, etc. much food is way over cooked- burnt, and serve fruit that should be thrown away. Bedford Estates is a suitable place for my mother, but needs improvement or I will consider moving her. The good- management staff is very nice and responsive and the facility is a nice. The bad- Many of the staff that execute daily tasks like food service, trash collecting, cleaning, etc are poor performers. Many are rude, derelict and incompetent, resulting in inappropriate conversations and interactions with and around residents, poor quality of service- to include poorly prepared meals and frequent unavailability of standard items. Management should focus on quality hiring and staff oversight internal controls to improve the above.

It's satisfactory. It's not the best, but not the worst. Could really improve on cleanliness of the common area carpeting. Of the halls smell strong of urine.

The community is clean and some of the staff are friendly and some are short like you are bothering them when asking for care that you are paying for. There have been negative occurrences since our loved one have been there. The large elevator has been out of service multiple times which is very stressful and disappointing. The transport is under staffed and difficult to get appointments schedule. When it comes to laundry some items are getting lost and sometimes never found. There could be more activities planned for all residents. There has been med errors and they do not seem to coordinate care with the family that is involved. For highly cognitive resident, this place is lacking. Sometimes the food is good and other times it is not. One CNA does all the activities and worship. When it comes to the value for cost it is way overpriced!!! They charge for everything they can and then some.

We picked this community because of the reputation, location, and prior experience at a different location for a different patient.

They can improve on the following: Communication between the staff. Staff turnover is extremely high. Coordination of the medical staff with the patients' medical team for the right type of care. Don't send a loved one there.

Improvements would be communication with family when resident is having trouble. Improvements with medication pass protocols and training of med techs.
