The Brookdale Northville was clean. The staff was usually friendly but not always. Would say that they would do something but then not do it. The staff was to assist [name removed] with his feeding but would only show up some of the times. He didn't eat the food, he was tube fed, which the staff was very bad about giving him so he ended up doing it himself. Some activities were very nice like bingo and when the drinks were served with entertainment. It was mostly a good value.

They were very friendly in the beginning as we met with them. Answered all our questions. Let us know when a room was ready for mom. So we saw the room, signed the papers and chose a move in date which was approximately 2 months out. We were told it took about 2 weeks to turn a room around so there was plenty of time to get it ready before move in day. I checked with them 5 days prior to our move in day and was assured everything was ready for mom to move in. Well it was NOT. The room was filthy, not painted, holes in the walls, patched spots on some walls…and more. Of course we didn’t find this out until we were moving in and there was nothing we could do but move in at that time. We spoke with the executive director about this and nothing was been done to this day to rectify anything.-

Short on help. Food quality and balanced meals not up to par. Life alerts outdated. Father (in asst living) fell twice and laid an hour on the floor both times because "alerts" weren't working. Mother in Memory Care. They do not do "Shine" program they promoted. There needs to be separation in memory care, one side for hostile mental patients and one side for the peaceful. Mother has been smacked in face by other residents 4 times, other residents being hit also. Staff tries but too much on their plates to address things appropriately. Facility needs updating and some TLC. Most staff is friendly, pleasant, easy to work with. Some are downright rude and inexperienced. Exec director gives platitudes but no solutions.

When it comes to the friendliness of the actual staff they get a 4, but for the agency staff they receive a 3. Staffing has been a huge issue. We would maybe recommend this community to other families, my mom wants to look at other facilities.

It takes a while for the customer and Somerford to get on the same page but it's acceptable at the end of the period. Also, the price was a little less than the others. My mother only has some much money so we spend it wisely. Security was my biggest issue, you just can't walk in Somerford they have to let you in.

Review of Broadway Creek Assisted Living I had mixed experiences with Broadway Creek Assisted Living when it came to the care of my mom. Her first stay was adequate, but her second stay fell short of expectations. On the positive side, Broadway Creek offers a variety of activities that could be engaging for residents, and there are some truly wonderful staff members who go above and beyond in their roles. However, it's evident that a significant portion of the work is carried by just 20% of the staff, which can affect the overall quality of care. Unfortunately, there were several issues that impacted our experience. We frequently noticed that call lights were not answered in a timely manner, often taking more than 30 minutes. Additionally, the cleanliness of her room was inconsistent and did not meet our standards.

We had some difficulties with billing for the first few months because the billing is from corporate and the facility financial person was not being listen to on phone and had difficulty getting the billing programs to accept the changes that we agreed on. The facility management was receptive to our concerns and we finally were able to get everything resolved. But corporate management was not flexible and responsive enough to local management's efforts to help us. The activities person in charge of memory care, [name removed], was outstanding and worked hard to tailor activities to meet my sister's rapidly declining mental and physical needs. However she had a very small budget and the facility is small. Tina tried to individualize activities for her memory residents but I could see that she could do so much more with an adequate budget.

Our experience is The staff are very friendly when we're there and mom likes most of them. Our experience has been that. Sometimes the care is better than other times. We strongly recommend moms dentures be washed properly and poly grip be used as needed. Moms nails are always filthy I would think that would be part of bathing her twice a week. We would like her hands to be wash after meals because she has to eat with her hands. We recommend better communication between shift staff and keeping good nurses. Our observations when the is that Mom seems to need more help eating some foods. Hopefully they help her when we're not there. We'd like to see mom taken outside on every nice day. We have never seen them outside when we visit. Would like to see weekly nail care like was explained to us when she first went there. Our experience is This facility was the more affordable option.

Mold in the bathroom shower, floors sticky we cleaned the floors almost weekly. No activities in afternoons everyone had to be out of their rooms why many patients asleep TV on that's it. We picked this place because of the feeling of home. Staff sat around talking or on phones all the time no supervision at all . Would I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE NO!! HOSPICE WAS GREAT. I and my family visited every day so we were aware of the above we cleaned up every day and we were aware my husband was a difficult pt. we did the same amount of care there or home. We cleaned him showered him changed him and loved him

Cleanliness however we would rate rather low. My Dad has to follow the cleaning lady around with the list of required tasks or she will often skip most of the cleaning. Often, they won't show up due to schedules and no one comes to do the cleaning until the following week. The nurse staff is very friendly. But everyone is always polite, respectful, and kind. My Dad doesn't receive any additional help at this time. He quit the laundry service and is doing it himself because items weren't always dry or folded. My Dad enjoys most of the meals. My Dad doesn't yet participate in any of the activities with the exception of Friday's music and cocktails. My Dad had a bottom line cost he was willing to pay. With the exception of the cleaning services, I think he is receiving good care.

I believe there are new owners. It really went downhill. They are always short on staff with the exception of 3 of the aides that have been there awhile there were a lot of faces coming and going that barely spoke any English.

It's an okay facility that needs a nutrition system because the food is not in line with needs of diabetics.

Turnover is an issue but there are a few techs who have been there for some time and they are really good at what they do. All of the med techs were extremely nice and accommodating and many truly care and are good at their job. The food is more like cafeteria food and not healthy or very tasty at all. The memory care building allows the residence freedom, guidance, caring workers. Assisted-living rooms are small. No sinks, countertops etc. Room for a small fridge only. Has a dorm-room feel. They do have a large activity room that has a full kitchen and many tables and can be reserved by the residence's family. The caretakers and the campus are what make this a nice place.

I’ve lived at Howard Village for quite some time. It’s a nice place, tenants are usually friendly, but cost is ridiculously high. Sinceri wants residents to voice their concerns if issues arise, but when told, the issue may or not be addressed. Many residents have only SS and maybe a small pension. If they run out of money, out they go. I don’t think Sinceri really care as long as they get the rent money. Residents suggest activities, but few are acted on.

My loved one was previously a resident at Brookdale Mt. Hood. If I had known about their inability to delegate early on, I wouldn't have chosen this facility for my loved one. I would never recommend this facility to others. Head staff cannot delegate, so often the lower staff are not aware of the specific job they are to do with specific residents. The 3rd floor stunk to high heaven. I vomited twice from the smell of filled kitty litter and residents who needed tended to, who had defecated not in a toilet but maybe on the floor? I do not know exactly, but it was awful as you stepped out of the elevator. Also, the mess on the floors and tables in the open eating area remained there after 10 p.m. We moved my loved one out of this facility.

Initially with help of place for Mom it went smoothly and quickly. As we got her settled we notice Calusa has to week on communiication within their group and the response time back to the clients. The biggest frustration we have is we feel the bathroom in our grandma room isn't being cleaned enough for sanitary reasons.

Very elderly residents who almost all have mobility issues. Not for able bodied adults. Residents line up at dining room at 4pm for dinner that starts at 4:30pm. Many people there should not be in independent living. Food service needs much improvement.Sometimes, it takes 2 hours for breakfast and long waits for dinner. Weekends are dead with no activities or staff. Major A/C leak into bedroom closet since a/c unit is located above the bedroom closet ceiling.No option to opt out of [fee removed] mandatory monthly food plan.Rent is relatively high for a building that is that old ( used to be a Marriott) Sliding glass doors in unit too old and all outside noise enters the apartment. Pros: security guard. On site PT/OT. Nice pool area.

This facility is under-resourced and, therefore, understaffed. This is a large, nationwide corporation that could well afford to further resource its care facilities. Sometimes my loved one doesn't even have an attendant once weekly. We pay extra for that service but they just seem to blow it off despite our consistent requests (based on our ongoing daily tally of their presence or non-presence). They also do not clean (empty garbage, clean floors, toilet, etc.) his apartment weekly as agreed and paid for unless we ask them constantly. They have been consistent with his medication though. I would suggest families looking at moving a family member to Brookdale for assisted living or any more intensive services interview the residents and their family members directly to determine how well resourced the facility is and how consistently the services are provided.

When we discussed our family needs with their sales and admin team.....they stated they would do hourly check-ins....we typically saw someone every 4 hrs...food was okay at the best....most of the staff seemed to care....however there were a few that it was just a job to them...so if you choose this place for care of your family member...make sure to visit often. They liked to corral thier residents in one place for easy monitoring. Kudos to the 3 caretakers that really cared and took excellent care of my family member.

I would recommend Brookdale Edina to others. The staff is exceptional. The residency is connected to city park. There is an indoor playground and swimming pool, which is free for residents. The playground gives you a feeling of being part of other generations. The park also includes a band shelter, which you can enjoy during the summer.
