They are quick to respond. They are always friendly. Food was very good but not enough variety that he found he couldn’t eat a lot of things. Food needed to be cut up for him or options needed to be provided that would allow someone with minimal teeth to eat. In my opinion, the cost of all of these places is too high for the amount of care and personal attention they actually receive. Especially for people that have to spend every last penny to stay there.

I would say based on some of the others we looked at Leisure Park was better. We also wanted someplace with Assisted Living and Independent Living in the same place. It was also conveniently located for us to visit on a regular basis. I do not regret our decision to move our parents there.

The management staff is very friendly and communicates with the family. Activities are a priority and are thoughtfully planned and well done. The dining arrangement is very different. No central café. Food is served in one of several dining areas on different floors. This can be confusing to new residents. Staff needs to help with integration of this approach. Food is decent. They serve homemade soup every dinner as an appetizer. Care (so far) is inconsistent and below expectation when compared with other Assisted Living facilities. We had to hire a Personal Care person to augment the provided care. The community doesn't provide Memory Care and therefore residents with dementia do not receive the level of care (prompting, redirection, wandering assistance) that they would get at a memory care facility. Several things (pendant capability, specific care fees, pendant response time, care provided, etc) were over stated by the Sales team in comparison to what is actually delivered. Housekeeping and laundry are average in terms of dependability, consistency, quality. The move in transition was smooth. They were helpful in allowing items to be moved ahead of the official occupancy date. Staff was aware of the new residents and made efforts to integrate them. Two weeks after move in, management to meet with the family to cover issues, gaps, expectations.

My loved one was previously a resident at The Forum. It was very very expensive, about an average of 8% yearly rent increases. The food was not good. Staffing didn't care. Maintenance was okay. The facility is worn and old and needs new carpet, paint. Smells bad in the hallways. The 2 bedroom that my loved one had was nice, but we had to pay for new flooring and to have it painted before she moved in.

I've had a wonderful experience at this facility. I think just ensuring that they are staying on top of the needs and following up is essential and important.

I have been some what disappointed in my experience. The facility is physically acceptable. However, I have found some members of the staff to be disappointing. This is my first experience in community living and it is not living up to my expectations. I have explained my misgivings to the Sales Director, [name removed]. She was receptive to my constructive criticism and hoped to be able to improve upon my negative remarks. She was very understanding and cooperative. I believe that I am a friendly individual, but I have not been able to connect with any of my peers.

As with most of these type places they are very short staffed, not all aides are as caring. Overall, I would recommend them.

I think the staff/facility is nice. They could focus on their menu maybe change food suppliers. Staff seems attentive.

It's a beautiful property but they routinely violate the first three rules of care they have posted. They routinely took things from my loved ones room without telling them. The final straw was when they rearranged her room while she was at the pool with a caregiver. They did it without asking or telling anyone and left and extension cord across the only path to her bed making her room more dangerous! We picked this community, because it looked beautiful and it was small and my mother was having mobility issues. Since receiving better care at another facility, she is super active and back to driving again.

Most of staff are friendly. My wife has Alzheimer's, will not let staff help her, and they do not push her as much as they could to shower and change clothes regularly. Unless I ask questions or point out concerns, there is no feedback on how my wife is doing. Housekeeping is not very good. Meals are acceptable. If a resident needed individual attention, I would not recommend the Gardens. Feedback on residents progress or status is poor.

Staff was friendly. Assured me that she would be well taken care of, assisted to activities, there would be Bible study and services on Sunday. When I picked her up, her clothes were still in her suitcase like we left her with. When I picked up her meds from the nurses station, there were no meds missing from her bottle. I know this because I counted them before I sent them to the nursing staff. Mom said the only activities was sitting them all in the tv room. I will not be taking her back there!

The facility's follow up is poor at best. Issues have come up over the last 9 months and their response time is unacceptable.. had to email the director of the facility on a few occasions and even then the response time was slow. There is definitely a disconnect between operations / administration/ and Nursing. We moved mom and dad in 9 months ago and never heard back from Sales or Operations manager. Good dog and pony show. The facility operates on a "level of care point system". They will not provide us with a list of services they provide for each level of care. We felt that the facility wanted to up charge at every opportunity within the first 6 months. The facility claims they do light cleaning only to see that the workers push the dirt around. Each time we inspect after the cleaning, we find crumbs and dirt on the floor because they they didn't do a thorough job. We brought up the issue to the facility manager who said that should have never happened but it never changes. The workers are very friendly and kind. There is no consistency at all. The Nursing staff do not pass on messages between shifts or follow up for anything requested. The food is very good. If Mom and Dad can't make it to any meals in the dining room, they check on them and make sure they have their meals. Mom & dad chooses not to participate. No opinion The facility appears to be not as expensive as the other facilities we toured but the overall quality of the service is too expense.

Facility common spaces/lobby and rooms were really clean for the age of facility Everyone was super nice. Some staff didn't speak until you introduced yourself but they were all really nice and caring. Overall care was ok. There wasn't a lot of info given to us about what day was her shower day, when was her laundry day, when were her meal times, etc. There was supposed to be an info sheet posted on her door with all this info that was never posted because they said they were changing things, but that was only after we asked. She waited several days for a couple different work orders to be completed. The staff would say they were short handed. The call button wait times varied from 5 mins(great!) To an hour (not great!) But overall when the staff was in her room helping, they were all great and caring!! The morning my mom passed a caregiver stayed with her in her room with her from 2a to 4:30a when I got there to comfort her and talk to her. That was really nice of her to do that, even if it was her job to do so! I don't think it was the staff, I think it was there system having issues and or the procedures of answering call button calls. Idk. Low rating because the food was not very good. It was always cold when it was delivered to her room. And the kitchen staff just dropped and ran. She had to holler/flag them down to have them reheat for her every time. They said they were goin to be purchasing heated carts for food delivery to make this situation better, but didn't happen in timeframe my mom was there. (She was only there for 3wks before she passed). Can't give ratings to the activities, she did not participate in any activities while there. Compared to the other places I visited, Brookdale had a homey atmosphere and seemed the most reasonable for cost, rent and care. Although I'm still waiting for a refund for the care side. Their corporate office is very slow and blamed by staff for most of the issues we had. Like the director and staff had their hands tied because of corporate. But again all their staff was nice, caring and overall I'm glad my mom was there for her last three weeks as I felt she was getting the care I wasn't able to give her myself.

The management was terrible at getting back to us, they have terrible communication. The help staff is wonderful, but again the management needs major improvement.

Independent living was wonderful, but my aunt went to memory care, it was too large. The aides were great, but there were too few. Which left the some residents to cause her harm. The aides were overworked I guess. She didn't get the individual care she needed. She is in a smaller setting and doing quite well now. Gets more attention. Her toiletry needs are met. She was left in her diaper alot at Magnolia. She loves her new lift chair I bought her now. She hated it at Magnolia, my only guess is they left her in it too long. Now she looks forward to getting in it for afternoon naps. Staff was great, I think my aunt just needed more attention.

I'd say management staff is nice, food is good. Rooms are not cleaned enough and the techs are not responsive and have no supervision so do as little as possible Ike when if they respond to calls. No oversight to be sure they make the required rounds. We picked this community because of the timing and location.

The medical staff is attentive, helpful. The food is meh. Portions are good. Dining room understaffed- residents have to wait long for food. Sometimes trash is left on tables from previous meals. The activities are probably OK. My mom doesn't participate much - she prefers to do her own thing. The value for cost is mostly good. Some services (like medication administration) is very high. Overall we are happy. The apartments are pretty nice. I have peace of mind knowing they are looking after my mom.
