The management was only helpful to sign the contract. Since then there are new owners that raised our rate. The most helpful are the aides. Very good I feel as though we were promised a lot to sign up and none of this has happened.

I don't know that I would recommend The Pines on Carmel Senior Living to others. The staff is nice, but the facility is very under staffed. This is reflected in housekeeping and the amount of assistance that is provided. My mother requests outside food and snacks because the food is not good. It's been disappointing, to say the least.

Once they get you in the door, they forget about you . Communication with the family is non-existent. WE picked this community because it had all 3 life stages, independent, assisted, and memory care.

Do research. After my Mom being there less than a day, I found out they do not have adequately trained or adequate numbers of medical personnel on site. They will sell you a "bill of goods" to get you in, but then they start up-charging for things even though they (supposedly) read the medical chart and evaluated the resident in person.Then when the person goes to the hospital (after less than a month at the facility), we were told she cannot return. So they (currently) are keeping the [removed] community fee.

Overall very good experience. My relative has a difficult time with toileting and bathroom cleanliness. Therefore, I have seen a messy bathroom when I visit. Administrative personnel are right on things, if told. We picked this place because of the sense of community. There is lots of resident interaction. The layout promotes gathering. The food is really well done. It's lots of happy people there.

I picked this community because, I really liked the apartment unit chosen. Provided all required amenities and proximity to extra storage, garbage room and facilities.Be very thorough, ask a lot of questions and take notes to make sure what is presented is actually what ends up in contract.

My mother is on a very limited income. After one year, they sent intention to raise the rent. My mother being quite upset; I contacted Fountainview by email and explained the financial problem. They responded and asked if I would like to request a rate increase exemption. I answered in the positive. I requested an exemption and asked if there was any formal procedure to be followed. That email was on [date removed]. A month has gone by (today is [date removed]), and still no response. I tried emailing and calling many times. Voicemails and emails are not answered. the increase is supposed to go into effect [date removed]. Very frustrating.

We toured The Court at Palm Aire during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. This facility seemed a little sad, but the staff there are so nice. I have a friend that has a loved one who lives here and I have heard that the food is not so good.

Lots of staff changes, food service change, not for the better, only desk staff to assist and most go above and beyond. Not really dog friendly and only if dog is well-behaved. Dogs are on all floors, not good. People have rescues and that is not well tolerated. They are their pups! Seems pretty clean. Focus is on the exterior. Love the staff at the desk, don't know others well, lots of changes. Quality is dependent on desk staff. Changes affect that. Again some of the activities are provided by desk staff. When it comes to the value for cost, not sure. Raised all the time. The residents living there are very friendly!

We toured Orchard Park at Southfork during our search for an Assisted Living facility for my mother. The lobby of this facility was really pretty and the tour staff was enthusiastic. However, the resident rooms were small.

The independent living portion is nice and care is good. Stay away from the assisted living portion! Completely understaffed! Takes over 2 hours to get a response to a pushed medical alert from resident. This could be life or death if a situation isn’t responded to in a timely manner.

We toured Rittenhouse Village at Portage during our search for a Memory Care facility for our loved one. We loved this facility! However, the Memory Care unit was very small.

The facility is clean, open and the lighting is great. The staff is generally friendly and helpful. I like the app that they use for activity information and communication. It provides the calendar of activities for the day and reports what activities your family member has participated in during the day. However, I do wonder why no pictures are ever posted of my loved one's participation. I would like there to be more communication between the facility and myself otherwise. Because I'm unable to be there personally, when I call to check on my loved one, I would prefer to speak to the nurse on duty and not to the assistant nurse director, who probably has no contact with my loved one.

The only complaint I have so far is sometimes when people have falls, they are late to get to a call for help. One fellow laid on his floor in his apartment for 1/2 hour before somebody came to help him. Which makes me fearful for memory care folks. I think all these senior places are having trouble finding people right now. They are doing the best that they can.

When we moved in, it was good. We had a caregiver/sitter be with out Dad while there. Staff was good for September 2022. Employees left, ACH, continued to charge me and withdraw money from my account even though staff said it would be fine. Dad was in Assisted Living for the first few months and then needed to move to Memory Care. Assisted Living was good until they found him at the curb trying to leave. After we moved to memory care, our stay went downhill(constant staff changes). I did not know who to talk to as they changed positions or left faster than we could keep up). No, I would not go there again. Had they hired from outside rather than inside (who did not know how to run the new job), it would have been better. It may have changed since then. I am speaking of the time we were there from [date removed]

The director was great, but the rest of the staff turnover was unmanageable. Their accounting practices were questionable. Because of these things, I cannot recommend.

When my loved one first came in about two months ago, Layton Terrace was very understaffed. They are making progress towards hiring more staff. The managers and administrators seem committed to providing quality and compassionate care, although that doesn't necessarily come through with some of the staff members. The management is open to hearing feedback, but don't necessarily follow up with the family. The activities in the Memory Care unit are good. We were not prepared for the reality of the Memory Care environment, however. It is critical that no important or valuable items come with the resident, as things disappear. As far as recommending the facility to others, I have no other Memory Care facility experience to compare to. But I think they try as hard as any facility to give quality care to the residents in a very challenging situation. I have not seen any negative behavior on the part of any staff at any time.

We toured with Five Star Premier Residences of Boca Raton and the facility looked like it could use a facelift. There was also no nurse on call 24/7 there. We were more impressed with another facility we were looking at.

We toured Howard Village during our search for an Assisted Living community for my friend. The facility was okay. However, we felt that the apartment was too small. The rooms were much smaller than those at some of the other facilities that we toured.

My family and loved one have had an average experience with Five Star Residences of Dayton Place. The staff are down to earth and friendly. The community has a homey feeling versus the hotel feel you get at bigger pricier communities. Overall, this is a community we would suggest you look into to see if this is a good fit for your loved one.
