There are some maintenance issues going but they are being addressed. Once they are addressed, the higher up staff will generally step in and fix those issues.

We decided on Morningside of Bellgrade because they came recommended to us. I felt the value for the money was great for the care that was provided. My husband passed away in the facility and they treated us with nothing but dignity, respect and kindness. I cannot say enough about the staff - they just went above and beyond for us. The hospice service that we used was wonderful as well. I loved the memory care unit and would highly recommend that side of the facility.

We had a very nice tour experience with Brookdale Park Place. It is no fault of theirs - but the building is older. We were looking for a facility that was built specifically with memory care residents in mind because those layouts are much different and they needs different things.

We toured Brookdale Edina and I liked it, but my brother thought it was too big and too much.

I would describe our experience with Lewis Park Estates as "efficient". We moved my dad out because he needed to transition to memory care. I wanted a memory care with more opportunity and more activities - which was the biggest thing.

This was my loved one's second choice, but outside views needed to be better.

Overall it has been a good experience so far, we are just still learning since this is a new journey for us.

Brookdale Northville was very nice - we were thoroughly impressed with the facility and it was very clean. I absolutely loved the girl who took us around - she was super informative and great about answering our questions. It is a smaller facility which we liked, but it was 2 floors. We really needed something all on one level since my loved one had a hard time getting around. We would have had no issue putting him here if it were not for the floor plan.

Everyone at the Brookdale Park Place community is super friendly, every time we come to visit the staff and other residents are always saying hi and always have a big smile on their faces. What really stood out to us initially was the overall value and the activities - even though our loved one does not participate in the activities what they offer is good. Based on our experience with Brookdale Park Place we would definitely recommend them to other families

The Somerford House is a very clean community there are no fowls odors anywhere so very impressed. Some of the staff are absolutely great and some you can just tell they are there to do their jobs. The young gentlemen working the activities program is absolutely top notch. We have already recommended this community to families and we will continue to do so

Friendly environment, but could use improvements

Grand View was a relatively new facility when we toured. It seemed super nice as well and I probably would have put my loved one here if it was just a little bit closer. It was a little on the expensive side.

This was very nice and reminded me of a mid-scale hotel. It was quite pricey for us. They couldn't administer medications to the residents.

Rochester Estates is a lovely place. It has a small town feel; even though I think it's owned by a corporation, they've still maintained that small town feel. It feels like a community and a family while you're there. My mom was originally there for a respite stay. I was traveling while she was there and I called her a couple times. During those calls she let me know that she wanted to stay and how much she loves it. She said she didn't realize how lonely she was at home. Now she's there! We signed an agreement for her to be a permanent resident, and we moved her furniture in. During her respite stay she had a nice studio that came fully furnished. Other places required us to bring our own furniture, which I thought would've been difficult for a short stay. Rochester showed us their 1 bedroom and 2 bedroom apartments, but my mom really liked the studio that she stayed in. She said it was the perfect location and space. She really hoped that they allowed her to stay in that unit, because she loved it that much. We spoke to the director and they said she could stay wherever she wanted, and if she decided to move into a different apartment later on, she can. They were very accommodating in that regard. My mom became a widow in 2017, so we got her a cat as a companion. Rochester allows her to keep her cat there, as long as she can take care of it. I truly believe that if they wouldn't have allowed her to do so, it would've been a deal breaker.

It's a good community they've had some challenges with staff turnover that impacted the kitchen but overall mom is very happy there.
