The staff members are very nice, but the quality of the meals could be improved according to our loved one

It's a good place overall. Not amazing, but definitely not bad. It's a nice place and a decent value.

It's just okay. The people are nice. But we've had a lot of little confusions about finances/insurance/paperwork, and there have been some incidents with the other residents. I understand that everyone there has dementia and doesn't know what they're doing but wish they were able to supervise a bit more.

I toured this community and I liked it. It's very clean and staff is friendly. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. Their only availability was shared apartments, so that didn't work for us. But otherwise, it was nice and we liked it!

We really do like the atmosphere of the community and the apartment rooms are comfortable. The food from what we have heard is good and well organized. Hopefully the activities can make some improvement - there is nothing after 3pm and during the days the activities are a hit or miss. The community is not but it could be cleaner, there will always be some good and bad things since it is not home.

We went with Brookdale Barberton because she was actually a former employee of a Brookdale facility. Also location, location location. It is close by and on the way home from work so we can stop in easily. It is a smaller facility and I like that, she gets more personalized care. They have a lot of great activities, they just had Oktoberfest and they sent a newsletters to the families to come participate as well. They come up with some neat stuff. The staff are great with communication and keep in touch, I really feel that they go above and beyond. So far we have been pleased and would recommend Brookdale to others looking.

I appreciate [name removed] the activity Coordinator. She help the residents have fun and she helps with my mother. I think the care services could stay on top of medical records better and I would prefer to leave off the soup on the menu because if the salt content,

Make sure that the resident knows going in that here are certain things that have to happen on their part. They have to give a little bit and can't expect people to come running immediately for every little thing. But it's a good place. The facility is very clean, and the people are very friendly. They have lost a lot of aides lately, so they're having issues with how quick somebody responds and gets to the room to answer call buttons. I know a lot of places are having issues with staffing right now. But the staff they do have are very loving and respectful of everyone. I haven't met anyone who is rude - they're all just as nice as can be. I've eaten meals with my loved one on several occasions, and the food was very good. They have plenty of activities. I just wish they would send someone around to invite/remind people to join in. I think the cost is reasonable, and it's definitely a much better place than others we have experienced as well as toured.

We picked this community because it was convient to travel to. My loved one does not complain about the food too much. They need to improve on their care services. The day vs night staff is different. Sometimes I have not been able to get immediate communication. Overall, it is reasonably priced.

Positive : some of the staff is very nice and caring , also rooms have good size and are much nicer than the other facility that we were looking at Negative: they have raised price on us twice in last three months

Overall we've been pretty satisfied with Briar Glen. There's the usual problems I think you come up with anywhere you go - shortage of help, etc. But overall they do a good job with what they have.

When our loved one was on hospice the hospice team was wonderful and the nurses at Walnut Creek that were by our loved ones side were phenomenal, outstanding and extremely compassionate. We do understand when you are serving this many people at once it is hard to please everyone, but the meals and dining service could use some improvement.

It was a nice facility but we were looking for an option, with the open concept of the structure which was important for us.

It was a beautiful place. it seemed to be excelllent but they only had double rooms available, and my loved one needed a single room.

They have been very helpful in transitioning my sister into assisted living. They tried to find as much financial benefit as we could. They are taking care of her. I do not regret putting my loved one in here.

I toured Layton Terrace; it was a good tour, but the community wasn't a good fit for us. It was more formal and too expensive.

Our loved one during their first week there they did not really have an orientation or really a tour so it made the adjustment much harder but they have since made up for that. They do have really good activities. Our deciding factors was the locale - it makes it easy for our family to come and visit and the value, it is much less then other communities in the area.

We chose Birchwoods at Canco because my mother appreciated having a small kitchenette in her room over not having one at all. It is hard to judge because they have been in lockdown due to covid right now but that is no fault of their own. She has only been here a few months but she seems to be adjusting well. Overall we would recommend the facility to others.

This facility is good and has met all of our expectations. It's in a great location. I really like that they encourage residents to be active and try to avoid spending their days in their rooms. The nurses are good and the staff is great overall. Before moving mom here, dad was her fulltime caregiver. It was a lot for him and he's relieved to know she's in a good place and being taken care of. Housekeeping does a great job. The food is good quality and variety. They offer activities and the director was great about explaining them prior to moving in, but mom hasn't participated in them yet. Communication with the family could improve. I have to initiate it and it's good when I do, but they don't reach out to me. I would recommend them to family and friends.
