The Activities Coordinator (now director of memory care) during my father’s stay was outstanding! [name removed] truly cares about the residents and consistently goes the extra mile to ensure residents’ needs are met. I noticed there were significant delays in filling critical vacant positions due to corporate involvement. This put significant strain on staff and affected resident care.

We picked this community because of the price, availability, the staff. It was very disorganized. I was told to not drop her off on Friday, but Monday. We were leaving town Monday, so it our time was shortened for establishing her in her room. The director, said we could drop things off over the weekend and get it set up. But when I came to the facility on Sunday, the room was still dirty, with no furniture. I left some clothes in the closet and left. When we arrived the next day, Monday, the room had a bed, a chair, a nightstand, and a dresser. The bed had a headboard and mattress, but was not made up yet. My husband sat on the bed, and fell through to the floor!!!! There not any slats under the mattress!! So thankful it wasn't my mom that sat on the bed. The director ran off to Walmart to get bedding and promised the pictures/artwork would be hung and there would be a table with chairs brought in. In short, when we picked her up, the room looked exactly the same as when we left her, with the exception of the bedding. Artwork was still on the counter, and no table or chairs! Also, she never had an emergency call button on a lanyard.

My mother is reasonably happy there. But she did have a serious fall that no one saw. She broke her femur (needing surgery) and her humerous. She was in another residents room. So I'm not happy about the level of supervision and staff/resident ratio. She is in Memory care now, so they really should have more caregivers. Cleanliness - It is usually pretty good. But I have shown up when her room/bathroom aren't very clean. Friendliness - Most of the staff are wonderful. But there are a few I don't really care for. Quality of care. I don't have much to compare it to. She was in rehab after her fall. And the level of care there has higher. Again, there are some really good people at Barrington. And some that are just on their phones. Meals/Dining are Reasonable. Activities. I give them a 3 for memory care. They initially told me that they take them in outings. I've not seen it. They do try to do some activities, but it's mostly just putting on a movie. I have seen some crafting. I know it's difficult with memory care residents. But they could take them out more. I take my mother out 2-3 times a week to get her out and about. But I think a lot of people are just stuck there. Value. 4. It's reasonably priced compared to other places. I'd consider moving my mother to a strictly memory care facility. But I think moving her and changing her familiar surroundings would be adverse. They would benefit from hiring more people, especially in memory care. They really need a better staff/redundant ration in memory care. The nursing staff is really good, but a few staff members aren't attentive.

It's been pretty good. We picked them because of the room, food, level of care, activities offered, and the people working there.

They have and my neighbor moved in there as well thought a great experience with great socializing, meals, all utilities included, and transportation, if needed. Lots of entertainment, and since doing the makeover, the place looks beautiful. We picked them because of the location, price and word of mouth from friends.

Mom hasn't really participated in the activities, so we cannot rate. She said not much variety on the breakfast. However, yes we would recommend The Wellstead to other families, we love the facility.

My mother moved out after 2 years. Even though she is in her nineties, she is very active and did not like redirecting other independent residents to their apartments. She made friends, staff & residents, and still visits them at Brookdale. She moved in to a non-senior apartments and likes to encounter people of all ages.

I would recommend the community to others, with the caveat that not everything promised will be delivered. The community is very nice but some things were promised that aren't being provided. In general, my mother likes living there and has made friends with the residents and staff.

It's a nice place with a nice staff and she was able to bring her Cat so that made her very happy.

Overall it is good. Cleanliness is fair due to the renovations. Friendliness of staff is good. Meals I would say are fair - food is a wide variety and the staff is really nice, but most of the food is bland. Activities are fair and the value for cost is good.

Everything was explained well. The place is very nice. I wish my mom n law was there instead of [facility name removed]. I think the Gardens is much nicer and more affordable. My only issue there was when Ward fell . 1 they didn't call me right away and 2. They didn't honor the instructions to send him to ports naval hospital. Said ambo must go to closest. I'll never know if they would have taken him to the hospital with his doctors and medical records if he would have lived longer. He had horrible care at the local hospital and died 10 days later. If they had called me when they found him things might have been different. I never complained to them as overall I think it's a really good place!! It was the head nurse who made the call. That was my issue. Otherwise I have positive things to say and would recommend it to people

I would recommend Brookdale. The only problem [name removed] has had, is a bill they gave her. There were some charges that she did not owe. However, they did delete them from her bill. I'd say it was very good. My mother in law is doing very well there. The socializing is great for her.

Nice staff, and management hires nice people. My mom likes it there and she was reluctant for a while. Mom complains about the food. I think trying to be bland actually hurts the primary goal which is to get the guests to eat!

My grandfather-in-law is staying at Orchard Park at Southfork. He had a terrible episode with pneumonia which left him nearly 100% dependent vs prior to the illness he was extremely independent. We had to find a place that could adequately take care of him until he regained his strength and could ultimately come back home. My initial impression of Orchard Park at Southfork was absolutely amazing from the "curb appeal", to the staff friendliness, cleanliness of the facility, amenities, etc. I would have given 5 stars on all the ratings above but there have been a few things that have been a little frustrating. I have experienced some situations where a service that grandpa is supposed to be receiving was not done, medications would sometimes not be given, and a general slowness of resolutions to issues by management. All in all though, I would still recommend Orchard Park at Southfork to friends and family and would personally use them again in the future if needed.

The staff at Orchard Park are friendly and helpful. When you need something done, it gets done fairly quickly. The caregivers are also helpful and friendly. There are a number of activities going on all day and guests with different interests come in. Several church groups come in person and others are on TV. The group goes on 2 outings monthly to various places. A bus takes people to doctors, dentists, and physical therapy. The apartments are well maintained, as is the building overall. Residents are friendly and welcome newcomers. Come visit Orchard Park.

Staff is very friendly and remember each resident They are also a dog friendly facility! I highly recommend Brookdale Gardens a Westlake.

The facility is very nice, food mediocre and the level of care was good. I would recommend to others.

The facility is clean and well maintained. The Nursing Staff and Aides are all professional and friendly. Every request has been answered in a timely manner. Only complaint is that the food is basically mediocre.

I’ve only been here for two months, but I’ve been To another place, and this is much better. The food is very good. The people here are very nice. Places very well maintained and kept extremely clean. The price is good for such a location. The pool is safe, small and not very deep. That’s great for water aerobics and swim.

It was unsafe for my mother after she started falling. They didn't have enough staff to ensure that she wouldn't spend an hour or more on the floor before being found. Their response to the emergency call buttons were too slow because of staffing levels too. Good place if you are fairly independent and need only minimal help with activities of daily living. It isn't the best place if you really need assistance, particularly if you are blind or need regular health checks.
