Activities need consistency

Most about the community...employees were friendly and welcoming. Least... not enough employees or nurses. My husband being diabetic was not managed at all. Blood sugars were all over the place. Diet was not diabetic specific which caused a lot of the issues. He lost weight due to some meals were inadequate. The facility doctor was not concerned about his other health issues besides Alzheimer's. The people doing activities did not engage him In physical activity or mental stimulation. Did not encourage him either. After 2-1:2 months I brought him Home and he is doing much better mentally and physically. It was traumatic for my husband to basically be alone (except for occasional visitor) 24/7.

The activities director was very sweet and did a great job. The workers seemed to work well together. The food was good. A lot of the management left after the state came in so I don't know too many people left. One thing that I did not like was the state would not let my dad's bed be up against the wall because they said that was a restraint. That is just plain stupid. He went to a nursing home and they could have their beds against the wall. No other rails could be used. It makes no sense what is ok for one place is not ok for another.

don't have much to compare this to although I did a lot of comparisons when I chose the place. So I'm sure I felt I was getting somewhat of a deal at the time. Yes, we would recommend this community to other families.

The staff are engaged with residents. The atmosphere is welcoming and clean.

We love it here at Talbot. Some rooms need updating because of age but new carpets, painting and stainless appliances was good. They are working to refurbishing everything. New owners and management are coming in October first. Sinceri will be taking over. All other numbers are five. The friendliness and activities are fantastic. The parking garage, pool and large rooms are a plus.

Most people do have severe cognitive impairment. I would recommend to others. I think it is a clean and well staffed place.

My dad doesn't participate in activities and he refuses care. They're doing the best they can. I would recommend the memory care side of this community. They are fairly quiet and seem to engage with the residents in a positive manner.

For the week my Mother was there it they were very good. I would recommend to others.

Most has been good so far. A few things could be made easier for the POA who works full time to have ability to contact persons such as the Dr. I've had issues with that. Some attitudes from staff could be nicer. I feel a few times I have been treated unfriendly, like not wanting to go out of their way to help me.

Five Star Residences has been a wonderful experience for us. We placed my mom in July and the staff made this difficult time easier for us. The staff in the memory care unit is very caring and [name removed] has been very responsive with our requests and texts.

Activities are excellent, lots of music and concerts. Food is great with lots of choices. Memory care director abruptly left which was unsettling.

I wish they had more staff, so far my mom has been treated good. It's times when they are short staff. As far as activities I do see staff working with them when they can. The staff shortage can improve.

My rating for library square is based on the initial move in experience. Since this was an assisted living move in a I was expecting someone to greet my father on law and help him navigate his first day. I don't feel that really happened. And then we were missing paperwork as the facility was communicating with other family members that were not in charge of the move. A checklist would have been much better. After being here now for 2 months we are pleased with the facility and give them a 4.5.

Only comment on the quality and temperature of the food.

First, people have to understand that living in an assisted living facility is not like living at home. You eat at specific times and only have a few choices of food. However, you do eat with people who may become friends, so you're not alone unless you want to be. Orchard Park is a mid-size facility with about 50 residents, so the staff knows you but doesn't hover around you. The activity director plans many activities, including outings to activities and shopping at Walmart and Hobby Lobby. Most people are friendly and try to be helpful. I think it's a good place and recommend it.

Food is pretty good and they do a good job accommodating Sharyn's gluten free needs. The staff all know [name removed] by name and seem very concerned for her welfare. She has had some issues with adjusting to her life there, but the staff are very willing to try to help her adjust. There was an upheaval with some sudden staff changes, but that has settled down. The manager regularly communicates with residents as well as their close friends and relatives, like me, about things that are happening at the facility. On the whole, I think it is a good place for [name removed].

I rated the care @ a 4 due to some complications we had with medicine administration. It was a good place though. I'd recommend it for others.

The family has asked to have the staff set dad's razor and shaving cream out and remind him to shave and this has not been happening. He may go 4-5 days without shaving which is unlike him. Also. They failed to have the shuttle take him to his dr appt this week although they were reminded several times. Staff is wonderful. Cheerful. Helpful. Dad seems to be flourishing.

The quality of the facility is very good and the entire revocation they did earlier this year is great. The quality of the food is terrible. The admin staff have ignored multiple requests to have our bill reduced while my mother is up north, despite their commitment to do so when we were in sales mode.
