Very nice, very accommodating. Kim spent a lot of time talking directly to D to engage her. Lots of activities every day. More professional feeling in its setup. D's concerns that it might be too 'uptown' compared to Bellaire. Dining room options seemed much better. A lot more residents were out in the facility, but it was also lunchtime when we were there. Like the idea of the respite care as a trial run if so desired.

It's a very nice place. It's a little more money and more of a retirement type atmosphere than a health type atmosphere. Everyone there was much more mobile. They have a night club in there, almost like being on a cruise.

Just after a tour and viewing the facility, we would consider moving him here if he needs to move out of his current place. It was really our first choice, but the price elsewhere helped sway us. You get what you pay for! And Five Star is a lot nicer. There were a lot of small things that we really liked, it is a newer facility, really appears to be much newer. Five Star separates independent and assisted living. The care may be a little bit more consistent with that arrangement based on our experience.

My Mom hasn't been here long, but the experiences I've had so far with the tour and the move-in process have been stellar. When I toured the director met with me personally, and we had several conversations. All of the staff I spoke with were very personable, and really won me over with the concern and interest they showed in my Mom. Mom is still a bit resistant, but I'm hoping they'll win her over, since this place seems really great.

This was twice as expensive as the place we chose and they seemed a little bit less accomodating. It was very much like this is how it is and how much it is and if you can't afford it then it is not for you. It was a very nice community and larger than the one we chose.

Great place, friendly staff

We really had a hard decision to make because my husband and I liked this one and another one very much. Both had different strengths and weaknesses. At the Terrace, they offered a lot more trips off campus. They had a lot more variety in shopping and entertainment opportunities. They were taking people to baseball games and such. It was an older facility. It was meticulously clean but it was showing a little decorating age. Everything was in great shape but everything was older than the other place.

I'm very pleased with it. They seem to keep my mother-in-law active and they do less medication more activities. My mother-in-law grew up on a farm and always had a garden. They provide a place for a garden and now she's growing turnips. It's a small, 4x4 patch. The first few times she didn't remember she had a garden but she just talked about it the other day. It's good they encourage them to participate in activities and stay busy. They're clean too. It's a constant chore on their part to keep the cushions and things clean. They will go to the point of having a resident stay in a different room for a night to make sure their room is clean and dry. I think the value is good. It's seems a little high but compared to others it's not. I think we get our money's worth. Every time the make a medication change they call us and let us know. They seem to stay on top of things.

I loved that place. In fact I had picked that place before seeing another one. The only draw back was the memory care was a 5 to 10 minute drive away. That was the only reason we picked the other one.

I am very pleased with Rittenhouse in Portage. It is a very clean, safe place for my mother. They have lots of activities and outings for the seniors. I enjoy visiting my mother there. Rittenhouse employees are polite, friendly, and helpful. The food seems to be healthy and satisfying and they are good about accommodating various eating issues, diets, food allergies, etc.

I liked Library Square because when my folks have to go from Independent to assisted living they won't have to move. I like that they can add services as they need them

i would give them a 4.99. I have just a little complaint and its not that its gonna hurt me financially, but when we signed up we were told that his laundry would be done seperately from everybody elses but its inevetiable that every couple of weeks we have clothes missing and there's one RN who's so upset about it that she calls for a mass search of his pants. I address it and deal with it and it's certainly not a reflection on the whole ball game. They're very friendly and they're on top of his care needs. They're very very good with activities, Dan, Christine and Anne Marie are all very good with finding things that he will enjoy and even down to the maintenence man, Chase. I told him my husband loves repairing things and asked if he could just tag along and Chase said he'd love to have him along. A small setting like this is perfect for him and security is very very good.

There were a couple of rough spots but they worked with us to fix any issues that were going on. The staff they have is very responsive to their residents. The offer an extremely good physical therapy and activities program. Everything we were looking to get in an assisted living community, they provided. The quality of life for my love one improved considerably.

They take more care of their residents and theyre a little more flexible. The unfortunate thing is I had to have a 2 bed 2 bath and those are hard to find anywhere. I'm happy I moved my parents there and I think they're a lot better than they were before. They have a residence club for early alzheimers to keep them active and mentally alert and we finally got mom to participate in some of the functions and they come and get her and take her to this "mini-classroom" like setting and then they have crafts. She'll go and do that but you have to go get her. It costs extra (about $1000 a month) but I'll do anything to get her mind going. They also said they could handle my dad through hospice so I wouldnt have to move them.

There is a move in fee of one months rent which is $4,000. So before you even move in you are paying $8,000, $4,000 is the move in fee and $4,000 is for first months rent. They have a large open area where the residents can walk around, it's not like a long hallway they just go back and fourth in. We would like their responsiveness to be quicker when you pull the pull strings. So far we are pleased with Clare Bridge and would recommend them to anyone.

We do not have experience with other facilities so we could not accurately rate the "value" also there was no participation in the "activities" so that cannot be accurately rated. But all and all the Rittenhouse was convenient for our needs and we would recommend them to others looking in this area.

Place is clean. Food is good. Should be some more activities. People are nice. Mostly older people. Nothing to do on the weekends Staff is nice. No complaints other than boredom on the weekends Should be more trips as well.

Positive. The care staff are very kind, professional and seem to really care for the patients. Activities. Plentiful. Great long term program director. [name removed]. Negative. Rooms need to be checked throughout the day for patients w bladder and bowel incontinence. Need more vegetables in diet. Especially for vegetarians. Many patients have put on many extra pounds due to all the carbs served at meals and snacks. Quite a high turnover of admin staff and some care aides.

The staff members at Birchwoods at Canco have been absolutely wonderful and very easy to work with. It has overall been a positive experience for my loved one and this is a place that I would recommend to others looking for care.
