We are just moving Mom to The Woodmark at Uptown. Our first impression is excellent. Everything is clean, food looks delicious and the staff has been very helpful and happy. Residence that we have talked with all say The Woodmark is the "best place to live". We are so happy that Mom will be living in such a great place.

Dennis and his staff provide the best meals at Seasons. Gourmet meals, like lobster tails and beef tenderloin, on special occasions are a real treat. The happiest times is social hour twice a week! The entire staff at Seasons are the very best, helpful at all times, whenever needed. They all work well together as a team and assist one another. Jill & Nancy in the programming department offer so many activities that it is sometimes difficult to decide which activity to attend; it's a great problem to have. Tricia is a big asset to Seasons and someone I would go to if I ever needed something. She is very knowledgeable about so many areas of the Seasons. I have been to many other communities to visit and I would highly recommend the Seasons. It has a very friendly and comfortable atmosphere!

I can't say enough good about the staff at Spring Oaks. My cousin is 101 years old and has lived there for the past year and a half. She loves everyone there and I feel confident that she is in good hands. The staff truly cares about the elderly and have great respect for the residents. I am there visiting 3 or 4 times a week and everyone is always pleasant and helpful.

We call Lake Barrington Woods, LBW, affectionately. LBW is a wonderful place with a couple of exceptions. 1) There is high turnover among the upper level managers. They have a new Executive Director and hopefully she will have some affect. 2) They do what it takes to make the residents happy. But... that may not always be in the resident's best interests. For instance, a resident may ask for more and more pain pills than they should have. They will give them the pills without looking at the big picture just to keep the resident happy. To me this is a big issue. I find I have to keep a close eye on my relative so that I know what is going on with his health. But...the rooms are laid out well. The food is very good. They have a lot of activities. The staff is kind and always has time to stop and say hello. If you need something all you have to do is ask anyone and they will help you. I like the emergency pendant that each resident wears around their neck. I like the swimming pool and the work out room. They have more activities than any one person can attend and they do encourage you to attend some of them. They have a VFW post in the building and they have a Men's club. Bottom line is if you want something ask. Don't assume they don't have it or you can't have it. A lot of times they will go out of their way to accommodate you.

My mom is at Spring Hills and I can't say enough good things about it. Not only is it a clean and beautiful place.. but the staff is very friendly and respectful and helpful. You can tell that the staff really cares about the people and that is such an important factor. Spring Hills is managed well and the Administrator bends over backwards to make sure the residents are happy and cared for. He is a rare breath of fresh air.

My loved one has only been here a short time, but from what I've seen they do a great job here! He seems to be enjoying himself, and he's been eating and feeling much better since moving in. The staff all seem very friendly, everyone we have worked with has been great. The only thing I'd advise families to watch out for is to make sure to stay on top of any promises they make when you sign the paperwork. We had a few maintenance issues that did not get handled in the month between us signing the papers and moving in that they had to scramble to fix (or we're still waiting for the fix) when we arrived.

All the communities are so expensive. They had some good activities. They’re pretty good. The food always looked like they made a decent meal for them. I never had any issues with the laundry. They have a beautiful lobby. The front desk people were really helpful. They were all really helpful.

Dad is 98 and was living independently prior to a hospital stay. We had to finally find assisted living for him. Evergreen has been our prayers answered. He is thriving and is actually beginning to enjoy life again. Physical therapy there has done amazing things for his arms and limited mobility. My sister and i anquished over the choices so when our brother recently complemented our choice we are even more thrilled.

We really like it. She loves it there. The food is fantastic, they got a new chef and everyone seems to like the food. It's not always as healthy as I would like but they seem to have a lot of choices and enough healthy options to get by. It's really social and upbeat. They did just do some recent renovations, and I believe they are expanding the assisted living section.

I have had the distinct pleasure of working with the staff at Mangrove Bay for the past 10 years. I am a Professional Care Manager and Registered nurse in the community. Throughout this time I have referred many families, friends and personal clients to the overall community but generally have the need for the services provided by the memory unit. I have been impressed with the response time in dealing with a crisis issue and the knowledge and compassion of care delivered by the entire memory care team, This unit has a very low census compared to most other facilities in the area and strives to provide the best quality of care to clients with dementia. The activities are provided on a daily basis with anything from music to reminiscent therapy and the quality of food is good, I have personally eaten at the dining facility on several

I am a professional guardian and chose Mangrove Bay because of its location and reputation for outstanding care and compassion. My Ward is in the memory care floor for about 6 months now. She is gaining weight and very happy with her apartment. The staff is attentive, physical therapy is available on site, and she likes the food. Her Family and I are very happy with this new living arrangement at the Memory Care floor of Mangrove Bay.

Mangrove Bay was not my idea of retirement, I had planned a life of touring the country in a motor home. But fate has a way of changing life styles. My wife of 52 years developed dementia and I had experienced two surgeries and was notified that we could no longer live alone. My daughter did some research and after checking several different senior communities, and she felt that Mangrove Bay was our best choice. She was RIGHT, My wife and I moved into an Independent living apartment and were immediately accepted as members of a "family". Not only is the staff friendly and capable, but the residents act like I'm a long lost cousin. My wives dementia progressed to the point that I could no longer care for her so with regret we moved her to the assisted living unit. Her care there was outstanding, and because we are basically under one roof, I was able to visit her several times a day. She had wonderful care until she passed away. I elected to remain at Mangrove Bay and fully expect to spend the rest of my life right here. This is home and I have upwards of a hundred cousins here.

My mother was a resident in Independent Living at Mangrove Bay. As her physical limitations increased it became necessary to make that dreaded move to Assisted Living. Initially she refused to move to assisted living at Mangrove Bay due to vanity and "everyone knows me in Independent Living" so we made the move to a community that only had Assisted Living and Memory Care. It was horrible! My mother said in no uncertain terms that it was a "nursing home"....her worst fear! After 17 days she moved back to Mangrove Bay to Assisted Living. She has been so happy and says she is "home"! Having to make decisions like this is so difficult for families but the caring staff at Mangrove Bay go above and beyond to make all of their residence feel at home and part of the community. I would highly recommend Mangrove Bay for your loved ones!!

The director was very good but that's further away from our house than we would like it to be. The director was very nice and got back with us right away. I can't remember his name but he was great. Besides the location it would have been a good option for us. They were friendly and the community was clean. It was good.

I'ts a wonderful place, we are just thrilled with it. They have undergone a massive renovation anf, of course, dealing with the elderly, that has been confusing and disruptive. They were bough out by a large company, and the renovations are wonderful. They're remodling the dining room, they're one floor for assited living, previously two floors were assisted, and the moved another floor up to what I hear is much nicer apartments. They're hoping to have it all done by Christmas. The attendants are wonderful, they've all been there 10 plus years, they check on her constantly, she goes to every one of the activities, they've fixed everything in the apartment we could think of, and it was just little things. I can't say enough nice things about it. We had just dropped in before and mother didn't like it, but when A Place for Mom reminded us of what a great palce it was, we shceduled a tour and they did the full court press. They greated us by name, the food was wonderful and we just new it was the right palce. They sent mother flowers to her condominium and gave her warm cookies. They've got a new chef so the jury is still out on him. The first chef had a full, hard backed menu with 16 entree choices and on and on. We had rib eye steak the night we toured. They have a residence council and from every floor the have a resident on the food committee and the care committee, they're really striving to make everyone happy. The only thing that would be slight detrimental is just that there's been a lot of confusion with th erenovation but the end result will be amazing, I just keep telling momma to keep her eye on the prize.

It was good. They didn't have as many activities as another one we were looking at and the room was smaller. It had a kitchenette instead of a full kitchen.

I looked at all the smaller communities in town and they were very depressing, run down homes that were not very well maintained. The Woodmark was a complete turn around. It was warm and welcoming and the building was very well maintained.

The area is convenient and very nice, unfortunately this is too expensive for my relative's budget. I do appreciate the time the staff gave my cousin to tour the facility. We will look for something within our aunt's budget.

They are friendly and accommodating, but do not have frequent openings. You have to be on a waiting list.
