My father-in-law is really happy there. He really likes it. He loves the food and the dining room. Most of his friends are older so they don't like to visit senior places becuse it scares them, but this feels like a restaurant so it's more palatable for them and encourages people to visit him. I think they need more help in their wellness clinic, more clerical help. It seems a little overwhelming for the nurse that's there.

Friendly, caring staff. For the money it's less expensive than some of the other places we checked out (Sunrise Fountain Square, Spring Meadows in Naperville to name a couple). Very nicely decorated in the main lobby area. Nice library. Pool was not that deep and we never saw anyone in it but it looked nice. Westbury Care Center is just down a connecting hallway so it's easy to go from one place to the other if necessary.

My 92-year-old father recently moved into Walden Place in Cortland, NY. I cannot say enough about how pleased and relieved I am to have him surrounded by such caring and competent staff, as well as friendly residents. Walden Place is set in a rural area yet is very close to shopping. The physical environment is bright, fresh, and well-appointed, activities and outings are plentiful, and the three daily meals are wholesome and delicious. What impresses me the most, though, is the number and quality of staff, both clinical and non-clinical, who continually engage with all residents - stopping by to remind them of activities, rounding twice during the night, keeping track of medical appointments, medications, and needed lab work, and providing transportation to appointments. This inclusive approach is a very different model than the retirement complex from which my dad moved in Florida. Not only am I happy that my father now lives close by, I can rest assured that he is in good hands. I can’t thank Walden Place enough!

wonderful warm goal oriented facility

My mom is moving to Cincinnati from a small town and this beautiful former winery/brewery home SMELLS great! NO mothballs or medicine smells. All I can smell is flowers and popcorn! My kids say it looks like a mansion/resort we use to go to as a family back in West Virginia. The staff has been so patient and my mother can be demanding. We hope to continue to work with Kathleen, Stephanie and help mom to transition to Cincinnati. I think that if everyone is as nice as the folks we've met so far.........Evergreen will be a perfect place for her.

We chose this community after researching and searching for the best fit for our situation this just seemed like the best option. It is on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. One of the major factors for selecting the community is because it is located in a park land setting in a community rather then in a city setting surrounded by McDonalds. We are very pleased with our choice and would recommend The Devonshire to anyone.

My mom likes the amenities and activities available. It seems well thought out and very organized. The gardening and art room are things she would really enjoy.

We were impressed. It felt comfortable, and warm. It was clean, smelled nice. We had lunch and enjoyed the meal. The residents were dinning and talking with each other. We appreciated the way the staff interacted with the residents. We liked that you can come in for independent living, and go on to assisted living, along with memory care all in the same community. 2nd visit This is still one of our favorite places. We noticed that in addition to the discreet handrails, they also have benches along the hallways, giving a place for residents to sit and rest along their way.

I was impressed by the campus/facility and staff.The difference in the s/p and private rates appears to be doable financially.

Very upbeat, well run community. Like the range of residents function level and that there were men there for him to sit with at meals and maybe spend time with. Hoping to move him there.

Excellent place. Clean, residents appear happy and interactive. The Director did a great job of explaining the details and answering questions.

The best so far!

We are in the assisted living section of the Renaissance, so this does not apply to the independent living section: The staff are excellent and go to great measures to make my mother-in-law happy and comfortable. Those new to the "assisted living" concept should understand that "assisted living" does not always mean "around the clock care." When my mother-in-law has needed extra help after recent falls/injuries, we had to hire additional staff out of our own pocket. This is NOT a complaint, and should not be treated that way. But since we did not know that was the process, others may not know as well. I will add that the Renaissance has made it very easy to get extra help, even on short notice, as they have a partnership with a third-party provider who so far has been very flexible and helpful.
