My mother is living at Woodbourne Place. Overall, I think it's the right match for her. She receives 3 wholesome meals a day. Medicine is carefully taken care of. Staff is friendly and helpful. The only things that should be improved on is the cleaning of apartments and following through on listed activities. There needs to be more activities for the residents. I give it a rating of fair to good. Thank you.

My family looked at several places for Mom. One reason we chose Baywinde is because they allowed Mom to bring her cat. This was very important to her. We also liked the special memory care area. There are a lot of different activities so Mom was busy throughout the day, not just sitting in her room watching t.v. The meals are nutritious and delicious. We feel good knowing She is safe and happy.

When I approached Spring Hills about placing my Mom who had a stroke that left Her right side immobile and unable to speak. Throughout the interview process I received nothing but assurance that they could hanfke Mom in her condition and was lead to believe that the assigned level of care(highest) she would receive would address all of her needs. This was sadly misleading. While there is no doubt in my mind the staff cares for the residents their failure to consistently deliver has left me disappointed. I am paying extra for the personal care I was lead to believe was included ( this place is lovely but very expensive to begin with) in monthly fees. With better communication, staffing and practices this place could be great. At present its good and considering it was the best of all I've seen Mom will stay for now.

I wish the assisted living in room monitors didn't act as the PA system. It's confusing to my mother. The nurses make announcements asking another nurse to "declare their location" or basically, where are you? What room are you in providing care.....what resident are you with.....that kind of an announcement and my mom is very confused by that kind of noise. When she is in her room this apparently goes on throughout the day. The announcements about lunch and general activities are great but the facility needs to find a better way to allow staff to "page" each other without disturbing residents.

They seem to be doing a pretty good job. It's kept pretty clean, no concerns there. They are a little understaffed on the weekends though. I haven't had any complaints about the food so far. Overall they are doing a good job.

Clean, very attractive surroundings - nice common areas & dining room, individual studio or 1 bedroom apartments provide comfortable privacy when desired. Well-kept outdoor courtyard & front porch. Caring friendly staff with varying levels of care to suit wide range of residents. Activities daily, encouraging residents to be active. Nice social time at meals. Costly, but you get what you pay for.

There are some of the staff that are great, but there are a few that are pretty rude, and we have had a few problems with them more than once. The sales staff and the head nurse are quick to respond to an email, but accuracy can be an issue we have had some medication errors, that were caught first by my loved one. They have a great calendar of events, but there could be some more stimulating options. They do not manage the food very well, it's nice that they have a little log book for requests. I think just following through and being consistent would be helpful. We liked that they were a newer facility, and beautifully decorated, and they designed the building with memory care in mind. It's nice that it's a flat rate where it's all included.

Overall, good. My sister has been there a little over a month and is "settling in". The staff is kind, and happy. They are open to suggestions. My only wish would be that they try to engage her more in more activities. They offer, she says "No thank you" and that seems to be the end of their efforts. I know they can't force her to do things but I am concerned that she spends too much of her day isolated in her room. She has been a very gregarious person most of her life and it is sad to see her this way.

It didn't seem like there was anybody there. It seemed more like a resort, than a community. I couldn't get a sense of how it really was, it felt staged. It seemed like there were actors as opposed to people living there. People seemed like they were dancing in the halls and I just thought there is no way that is what living here is like.

We just went in for a quick visit so I didn’t get at much detail on them but I would probably rate them somewhere in the middle of all the ones I saw. It looked like they had good social program but the building was a little more outdated and worn, especially for the cost.

Lack of communication. He was supposed to get PT and there was miss communication between them and their PT. One phone call to us could have cleared it up and he would have started his PT the next day. He "ran" out of his celebrex and the person in charge of the meds said he had called his Dr. To get a refill but this did not happen. None of his other meds ran out, which all of them were filled at the same time. I am not sure why those "ran" out. The staff was pleasant. The room was clean, a little run down since it was an older facility.

It was an easy place to fall in love with and the staff there was wonderful in terms of our timing and moving. Unfortunately it hasn't lived up to all the expectations and staffing is sometimes a challenge as well as services. The food is also not great.

They are short staffed, some staff excellent some not so much. Could use more activities for the memory care residents. Room size was fine. Our cleanliness standards might be high so we did some of our own cleaning and laundry alongside what the staff did. The memory areas were recently renovated...the common pod areas were beautiful.

Rooms were large, bright and very clean. Most residents were in wheelchairs and the atmosphere was peaceful. The staff were always changing, retention was challenging.

With very limited experience, I would give 3 stars overall. He's only been there for one month, and with that at the hospital for 2 of the 4 weeks, yet they did a 30 assessment and raised the price by $[removed]per month. The staff was friendly and helpful. Room is on the smaller size but adequate. Could use more activities on the weekends for the residents.

The sales experience was great. They made it look really good. But in the end as my mother had to shift into a different kind of care, they were difficult. They did not return phone calls and I didn't feel like they put the residence first. The sales team that worked with us in the beginning that was so great has moved on.

Rooms are large to accommodate patients furniture including bed. Activities are mostly ignored by inmates. Food varies from quite good to less. Premises are clean Care givers vary in care and attitude

The apartment size and cleanliness are great, activities seem good. Staff is nice, but they don't appear to communicate with one another or with families. I got a call today that my dad is out of wipes. No one called to tell me his supply was getting low, as they are supposed to do. Also, one Sunday afternoon, the staff did not know how to changes O2. My sister had to help them. And he was still in his underwear at 1:00 in the afternoon, after lunch. And at lunch, everyone else received dessert except him. He even asked for it, was told they'd bring him one, then never did. I think the weekend staff is not as well trained or competent as the regular weekday staff. I spoke with the head of memory care to let her know these things and she promised it won't happen again. But the wipes issue just happened this morning, so communication is obviously still an issue.

The staff were very nice, friendly and knowledgeable. I had to find a place quickly for my sister, and no one filled me in on the lack of medical care, as well as limited transportation to appointments. This was my fault and theirs. The food was delicious, and I was invited to eat lunch there one day for no cost. The programs seemed varied and interesting. I didn't see the residents of the memory care floor being taken outdoors much on nice days. They kindly let my sister use the respite room, which was furnished, since we weren't sure how long she'd be there. But I wasn't told to bring toilet paper, wastebasket, hangers, etc. for my sister.

The facility and mom's room cleanliness are 5 stars though. Food isn't always the most appetizing though I understand there is a new food director. I put away her CPAP as it wasn't being utilized at bedtime as prescribed. There is a distinct lack of communication between staff and families. Perhaps with administration changes a quarterly care plan meeting might be something to enhance care. [name removed] is most helpful and responsive.
