Management had issues with conducting regular cleaning (residents went six or more weeks without cleaning services and were not compensated for it) and they regularly ran out of entrees at dinner time. I would still recommend Baywinde Senior Living to others.

Beautiful facility, spotless , good food most staff are good just not enough qualified staff ... overall it is a nice place would recommend to others ... best facility in the area.

My loved one has not lived there since the end of November. They did not have the capability to care for him, so they asked him to leave. He moved to [facility name removed] which is a much better fit for him- better caregiver/resident ratios.

It's really sad that has gone down hills so quickly since we moved in 19 months ago They didn't have an activity director until 2 months ago. The management staff does not properly train the caregiver as. They need more trained CNA's.

The place is clean. The care is not the best. The meals are fair. I would not recommend the place.

Pros: smaller community. Less chaotic. Good for memory impaired. Cons: they eliminated activities, citing not enough residents to cover costs. Dark common areas. Lots of TV - not activities. No cable, so no variety. Food is very unhealthy. Hot dogs. Nursing care is poor. Lack of attention to actual heath urgencies.

I cannot tell you how much I appreciate the staff at The Breakers. They are helpful and caring--always smiling and polite. From when I moved in and one of the movers broke a light fixture. It was cleaned up and replaced before I knew it. If I have a problem they are quick to respond and offer assistance. Thank you for the care and attention.

It was a lovely community- however communication was not good.

Both my parents now reside at Addington Place of Clarkston and are adjusting fairly well. Mom has been in the hospital about one month of the time that they’ve been there and they arrived on [name removed]. One of the biggest problems is the food being cold, and as my parents put it difficult to eat due to spices that they are not used to such as garlic and spicy barbecue sauces. My parents are from the south and they’re used to certain types of food preparations but they are trying to adjust. The other problem that we are dealing with is the difficulty with communication between the medical staff and myself. I was their primary caregiver prior to placing them at Addington and I received very little input, even though I reach out for updates. Lastly my parents deal with complaints by staff due to staff shortages making my parents feel guilty when they need to ask for help

It's a lovely facility. I believe they often have similar meals on repeat in the memory care facility. Workers are very nice and they keep residents together, out of their rooms and interacting. It's always good to visit and stay on top of your loved ones care. Label their belongings as frequently things go missing. They did always come back.

Very friendly and helpful staff but they are controlled by corporate offices that are located in Chicago and have no real interest in quality care beyond their own bottom line. The food as you can see from the number is nothing to write home about. It's like cafeteria food from school, overly starchy and not local. Also very small portions. They are not able to make gf food which means I am rarely able to eat with my mother. This day and age there are so many people with celiacs and other auto immune diseases that require some ability to be flexible. The price jumped [amount removed] a month for my mother's two bedroom after being there for just one year. She has a lovely 2 bedroom apartment. That's probably the best thing about the place. Lots of people with memory and mobility issues who require private aids even though this is an independent living facility. Transportation for medical appointments has been cut back requiring outside transportation.

Lots of turnover. Staff is underpaid. The Equity group that owns the facility believes the pay is more than enough. [name removed] in memory care is fairly new and he seems to care. The facility DOES respond to families concerns. Tell anyone looking here that the KEY to a good experience will be how much the Family and Friends are willing to give of THEIR time to get the quality care the resident is paying for. The facility can't do it alone unless they were to scale back profits and spend more on Food and Caregivers. Profit, profit , profit has eaten away at a good place.

If the individual was social and able to fit in with other residents, I would recommend it We thought that with all the amenities offered that it was worth the money. However; the meal program wasn't much of a savings as my mom had to go out to eat a lot. Due to some rude residents my mom didn't feel welcome to join any of the activities plus the add on cost wasn't worth it

I found most of the staff to be friendly and helpful. Upper Management is useless. House keeping is good, but depends on the person you get. Communication is fair and requires follow up to get answers. The move in process was fair, but needs work. Need to ensure stuff works in apartment before you move in. The majority of the meals are poor quality, burnt, small portions and just poorly served. Management needs to address a persons concerns. It's hard to get follow up there. Need to hire more staff especially on weekends. I would not recommend this facility.

My mom is a resident at The Sheridan at Oak Brook and the experience has been okay. Housekeeping is good, however, they need to address schedules. They don't give residents a window of time for cleaning. If the resident isn't there, they skip that week. The food needs improvement. Also, additional staff is needed as dinner takes two hours due to staff shortages. Overall, it's expensive for what you get.

We left after a few months due to service. They need to improve on their staffing and communication.

The staff is super friendly but getting things done is next to impossible. They have even come into my loved ones apartment multiple times at 6am to give meds (it was the wrong apartment apparently). They were charging $[removed]/month EACH for medication assistance that we never signed up for. The food is awful (inedible according to both of them) and we just found out that my dad has lost a significant amount of weight. At times, they didn't bring them dinner at all even though they had ordered it. (They pay $[removed]/mo for their dinners to be brought to them.) We are now having to look into an alternate meal delivery service. I realize every place will have some issues however, they've been there since [date removed] and it's still happening (the med assistance happened again yesterday morning.) It's frustrating. My husband has become their handyman since they can't get anyone to fix leaks and such. That said, the staff is very friendly. The apartment itself is spacious, homey and bright with an outdoor balcony and a nice view. And the van driver ([name removed], I think) is wonderful and takes great care of my dad when he takes him to work and back twice a week.

The staff members are very friendly but there is just not enough of them. The reason for the 4 rating for quality of care is because again there is just not enough staff. They reuse a lot of food and the meals aren't always what the menu describes and the food is often over done.

[name removed] is the vice president of sales for Addington place. He was incredibly helpful far beyond what is required. They need to improve on residents access to the internet and long distance phone calls.

The staff members are very sweet and helpful, however they could learn how to accommodate special dietary needs of patients---specifically puréed. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend the Walden Place community to other families
