My father was a resident (both independent and assisted living) for almost three years. The staff was very attentive, and when he had to go on to assisted living the nursing staff was very supportive and communicated with me on a regular basis (I am 800 miles away). In addition, the housekeeping staff acted as a second set of eyes and ears and communicated with me during my personal visits. The residents of Barrington provide strong support for ech other, and I give credit to the the entire staff for promoting an atmosphere where that is encouraged. Because of a total caring community, my father enjoyed a very high quality of life at Barrington until health issues forced hospitalization and then his passing.

Lunch/toured with Sajet Patel. Beautiful property, lots of activities, good meal/menu, decent sized units. Overall impression - this would be a great place for mom & dad; can they afford it?

We chose Horizon Bay Memory Care because of the way it looks, definitley high end, will make you say "wow." There is always activities, the patients are engaged in something. When I visited mom looked healthy and clean. One fault they have is when mom transferred there they never called us with updates. We always have to contact them for status reports. One employee told us "no news is good news" but we think that not calling family is a big mistake. We have experience at other Memory Care facilities and received calls everyday from them. The other thing is they won't give the code to exit to family members. Once you are in it is nearly impossible to make a quick exit. You have to find an employee to let you out. This is my first experience with a facility not allowing family members the code. When I was trying to leave another person was trying to enter and it took a while for us to find a staff member to let us in or out. It is inconvenient to say the least.

One bedroom - $2,695. Has a pool. Skilled care wing attached. Really had a good feeling about this place

Meet my needs. Having a view of the lake would be heavenly. The atmosphere was very peaceful. Everyone was very friendly. Food appears to be varied and delicious. Social Events were plentiful. Transportation a plus. Pool was a bonus. Not having a washer and drying in the unit was a problem. Parking was an additional expense.

Close to current house - would be familiar with the area.

Facility looks great, good location, well staffed, clean, comfortable. Parking is difficult & limited. No semi private rooms avail. Had 2 tours of facility & was great & answered all questions.

Tour of facility was very good. the Director was extremely helpful and gave us insight on the disease mom has based on her father-in-law.

The director gave us a tour. My mom like the floor plan here better than the Breakers. She thought the apts. were larger and washer and dryer in the unit are a plus, free parking etc. She didn't like the long hallways. She thought the Breakers had more excitement and activities.

Excellent. Meet my needs. Apartments are spacious. The atmosphere was very homey. Individuals were warm. The service in the dining room was fantastic. The employees were warm and very attentative. The washer and dryer is a extra that is a must have. Parking being included is also a plus. Food was very good. There are social events but the events at the Breakers appears to be more appealing.

Newer facility so it is clean. Does not have a dementia specific unit. Residents are intergrated. How do I feel about that?

visited a couple of years ago with a friend. So I feel I know this place a little bit.

Nice, spacious units. Activities all on one level, but all on lowest level of building. Costs aren't bad, include a number of important things (no phone, electric or cable, however). Larger gardening area, as well as a hothouse (though a little small). Medicaid is accepted for nursing care only. Didn't offer much information about what happens should mom outlive savings. Contacted office for more information on this but have not heard back.

Very nice and comfortable living space. Nice garden area, though small at the moment. Activity room, chapel, game room, workout equipment, hair salon all available. Would be nice to see all of these on one floor but not a necessity. Got good cost information, as well as continuum of care info if need arises.

I was impressed with the different buildings and especially the concierge in the independent living buildings. Older building, but that's neither here nor there. They can manage with feeding tub.e

This is high-end. $500 will reserve a place on the waiting list, which could take as long as 6 months to get in. In the tour, I did visit the 3 levels of care. The atmosphere, paint and decor were very pleasant. There was no unpleasant odor. Residents were engaged in a variety of activities.
