When you first walked in it looked amazing and made you feel happy and all the residents were smiling. At the time we thought we were faced with my loved one needing memory care and when we walked into the memory care unit, it was completely different than the assisted living side. It was dark, void of atmosphere, the residents looked like zombies, and there was only 1 staff member. The room that we were shown that would be ours had a huge urine stain that they said they have not had time to clean yet and there was an odor. It was also very expensive.

NOT RECOMMENDED! Inconsistent quality control, rules and protocol changing daily, and no longer appear "resident centered" SO WHY CHOOSE THIS MESS when there are many other better suitable options in Waco?

I would say do not go to this community.

There was another community that stood out more to me and I felt that it met my loved ones needs.

The facility is indeed beautiful to look at and has many amenities however a facility is only as good as the management and the people who work there! No consistency in staff or management. No communication between facility, residents and families. No follow through when questions arise concerning care of a loved one. Poor staff training. Many medication errors, falls and hospital visits due to lack of supervision and med errors. Having a loved one in Memory Care and friend in Assisted Living gives me unique advantage to review both. Memory Care is truly lacking. Everything from supervision, activities, nursing, dietary and even the Air conditioning which always seems to have issues in memory care! The facility hires people to be directors with literally NO background in caring for this population! Assisted Living side is a bit better but still not good! Trust me , you can do better!! We did!!

The biggest complaint I had about The Clairmont during the time I was there was the management - they did not seem to care about the residents at all. There management was terrible, but the day to day staff was great.

It is a lovely facility and would be good for a person who is independent and does not need any type of care. They are not truthful in the services that they will provide for their residents. They are supposed to be level 1-5 care, my mom went in as a level 1 and they did not provide my mom the adequate care she needed. They did not return any of our calls. My mom called me to tell me she fell and after being in the hospital, they would not take her back. I would not recommend them to others.

Not enough staff, food shortage, did dispense medication properly - Residents falling numerous times needing hospital care w/ stittches - spouse sent to hospital and no one contacted me.

I would tell others that if you have a loved one that has Alzheimer's who is cooperative, then Lyndale might be able to care for their needs. If your loved one is in the early stages of memory care needs who struggles with losing their memories, then the staff doesn't understand how to care for the residents in this nature.

I was very impressed with the Main St. concept at first, but when my mother moved in the carpet was dirty and there was a foul smell. Luckily I put a camera in the room and would suggest everyone should do this. I was appalled at some of the things seen. After several weeks the sheets were not being changed, the room was not being cleaned, and my mother was not being showered regularly. There were several really good workers, but some were very uncaring and even abusive. The food was good but the portions are very small. During lockdowns they were fed in their rooms on tv trays that were not cleaned between feedings. I don’t think you should have to pay an additional caregiver when you are already paying for memory care. There was a storm and the roof leaked causing water damage next door and water spots on my mother’s wall. My mother passed away at Ellery and shortly after I received a bill for $1,100 for excessive damages- new carpet, paint & general cleanup.

My relatives have lived at Renaissance for 2 years. Nothing we were promised has happened! Yet, rent has not been adjusted!. When residents ask for repairs, they are given excuses and more excuses. Fountain is nothing but a green, slimey cesspool. Only the great hall and dining room are kept nice. Horribly in need of updating. Now, they are letting in residents who are in need of mental help into what is supposed to be independent living. Rent for new comers has been drastically reduced. A total disaster! Notice dates of the reviews if you are considering this place!

The medication distribution needs to be closely monitored. If your loved one is a falling risk make sure to keep a close on that also. The response time for a fall was over 4 hours and the emergency pull did not work. I would not recommend this community to others.

My Mom is a resident. I’m extremely concerned. It seems decisions may be made based on which way the wind is blowing. One example: Each time we visited during our decision making process, food was practically thrown at us. Their food is good and it was one of the selling points. Yesterday I spent 4 or 5 hours with my Mom. We had an enjoyable morning. We decided to have lunch together. I was told I cannot enjoy a lunch with Mom. I was allowed to sit with Mom while she ate! I offered to pay! Yes Huh? They had lunch prepared for local firefighters! No firefighters showed up (perhaps poor planningh) but goodness make sure a resident does not get to eat with her daughter. I’m very concerned. Oh btw, I’m being told COVID is to blame..... Hah ha COVID was a non issue just a few days prior!!!!

My father was living here for 6 months and just died of pneumonia, They have confirmed covid. They are unacceptably rude, a very very shady organization. They didn't even call us when he was transported to the hospital , where he died the next day without us even knowing. This place is a sham and I wouldn't send anyone I loved there. Please don't send anyone you care about to this place. And on top of that they have now charged me for another months rent for my father who is not only obviously not living there but has also is passed. They haven't responded to phone calls about still being charged rents, refunded us or given us an answer to to their "investigation" about why they called an ambulance but never called us. Keep your elderly relatives safe and avoid this place at all costs. P.S. don't believe they have to ring the bell in the morning because there were plenty of mornings he didn't ring it and they wouldnt check on him for hours. Quick to take your money and that's about it.

My loved one ended up have a medical complication while staying at this community. I had to move my loved one out of this community. There were 3 administrative director changes in a year. My loved ones clothing was missing when I went to move my loved one out of the community. After complaining the clothes were "found" and in my loved ones room the next time I returned.

We chose Azalea Trails for the memory care unit for my MIL. She had Lewy Body Dementia. We were given a great song and dance about how wonderful it would be and that they could provide the level of care she needed. The marketing, website, tour and talks were great but we soon realized they were all a lie. They were not able to provide the level of care promised. Workers did not like their job and it showed. There was no compassion and love just sighs and grunts and anger that they had to take care of her. We would be told she had gotten a shower yet all of her towels we sent were still on the shelf clean? How do you give someone a shower and not use her towels and her hair isn't wet. I could go on and on... The director was serving two rolls as someone was on maternity leave so they were short staffed and very little supervision. Yes this was during a pandemic, but like others have said, you can still provide good care during a pandemic. All we wanted was Azalea Trails to d

I would want others to know that we did not have a good experience with this facility. They mis-manage medications/ do not give out medications when they are supposed to. They also do not clean residents rooms, respond to call buttons, etc. The food is almost non-existent, they miss meals, give them extremely small portions and the meals aren't nutritious. I would not moved your loved one in here.

I would want others to know that we had major issues here. The day of the move I checked her out of rehab, I could not leave because the facility did not have doctors orders. They had a week to get these and we had to wait around for 5 hours. Once we got her to the facility, the rehab place did not release medications, I had filled paperwork out for all of that weeks before. So she had no medications when we got there. She could not get a mailbox key for 2 weeks so she had no access to her mail. My mom was told by one of the aids if she could not sit up to get out of bed, she needed to move to a nursing home. Remind you, they assessed her before she moved in and said they could provide her level of needs. There were a couple awesome CNAs here, but we had a CNA tell my brother that she couldn't help my mom because she might injure her neck, my mother was only 84 pounds at the time. We had a CNA who wanted to put the potty chair next to the bed rather than over the toilet, they did not want to put any effort to help her move. The toilets were also stopped up from feces and toilet paper for 20 hours. Once fixed, they left feces all over the toilet seat. I called to get this taken care of and it took another day to get the issue resolved. She missed a whole week of therapy because they said I did not fill out the paperwork, when I picked up my paperwork, I got my own copy and i filled that out a week prior. I had them pull the file out and it was in there, so they did not look. My mom asked the morning staff to put her shoes on, they said they did not want to so my mom went without shoes even though therapy wanted her to have shoes on. Overall, we had a very poor experience with Mirabella and the staff members here. If you need extra care and are not able to get around on your own and feed yourself, I would not recommend.
