My loved one ended up have a medical complication while staying at this community. I had to move my loved one out of this community. There were 3 administrative director changes in a year. My loved ones clothing was missing when I went to move my loved one out of the community. After complaining the clothes were "found" and in my loved ones room the next time I returned.

Not what it appears

We chose Azalea Trails for the memory care unit for my MIL. She had Lewy Body Dementia. We were given a great song and dance about how wonderful it would be and that they could provide the level of care she needed. The marketing, website, tour and talks were great but we soon realized they were all a lie. They were not able to provide the level of care promised. Workers did not like their job and it showed. There was no compassion and love just sighs and grunts and anger that they had to take care of her. We would be told she had gotten a shower yet all of her towels we sent were still on the shelf clean? How do you give someone a shower and not use her towels and her hair isn't wet. I could go on and on... The director was serving two rolls as someone was on maternity leave so they were short staffed and very little supervision. Yes this was during a pandemic, but like others have said, you can still provide good care during a pandemic. All we wanted was Azalea Trails to d

Don't do it

I would want others to know that we did not have a good experience with this facility. They mis-manage medications/ do not give out medications when they are supposed to. They also do not clean residents rooms, respond to call buttons, etc. The food is almost non-existent, they miss meals, give them extremely small portions and the meals aren't nutritious. I would not moved your loved one in here.

Don't send your loved one here, I do not recommend

I would want others to know that we had major issues here. The day of the move I checked her out of rehab, I could not leave because the facility did not have doctors orders. They had a week to get these and we had to wait around for 5 hours. Once we got her to the facility, the rehab place did not release medications, I had filled paperwork out for all of that weeks before. So she had no medications when we got there. She could not get a mailbox key for 2 weeks so she had no access to her mail. My mom was told by one of the aids if she could not sit up to get out of bed, she needed to move to a nursing home. Remind you, they assessed her before she moved in and said they could provide her level of needs. There were a couple awesome CNAs here, but we had a CNA tell my brother that she couldn't help my mom because she might injure her neck, my mother was only 84 pounds at the time. We had a CNA who wanted to put the potty chair next to the bed rather than over the toilet, they did not want to put any effort to help her move. The toilets were also stopped up from feces and toilet paper for 20 hours. Once fixed, they left feces all over the toilet seat. I called to get this taken care of and it took another day to get the issue resolved. She missed a whole week of therapy because they said I did not fill out the paperwork, when I picked up my paperwork, I got my own copy and i filled that out a week prior. I had them pull the file out and it was in there, so they did not look. My mom asked the morning staff to put her shoes on, they said they did not want to so my mom went without shoes even though therapy wanted her to have shoes on. Overall, we had a very poor experience with Mirabella and the staff members here. If you need extra care and are not able to get around on your own and feed yourself, I would not recommend.

Avoid Elmcroft

I have a great apartment, (maybe worth $1000 per month), 3 bland, institutional meals a day, (worth $7 per meal according to them), and NO ASSISTANCE WHATSOEVER otherwise for $4000/ month. The better question is "Do I really enjoy getting screwed this badly?" No, I do not. I am now in a tough position, but I will get out asap. DO NOT GIVE ELMCROFT A SECOND LOOK!

Disappointed, not as advertised

This is not an independent living community. There are a lot of residents that have dementia who are not getting any type of care and are trying to get into people's rooms. I have had things stolen from my room. The bus service only works for 2 days a week for doctors' appointments and shopping once a week but with 100 residents it is hard to get on the schedule. Communication with residents is not good. Many other residents need much more care. The food is not very good.

Moved my Mother in middle of February. I love it and she will. She is 97 and is fighting change but she is coming around. Her most stressful time is meal time. She doesn't feel comfortable to sit with anyone and is having trouble making friends. But as I said she will come around. I have been driving 3 hours each month to assist my Mother, so its wonderful to have her here in Tulsa.

Bad place for Mom

I am son of Embark in Lake Worth FL today I ask for 2 Keys to my Moms apartment for me and my brother . We are down here now because my mom got told she has Lung Cancer. This place is has been a bad choice ever since my mom moved in. The food has been the worst everyone complains about it. She get her food brought up to her apartment 11am for lunch by the time she opens it it’s cold. Dinner comes up at 4 pm cold again and not edible . I was told the keys were 10 dollars this morning and later in the day they call up to tell her they and now 15 dollars each. The person in charge is [name removed], and then the desk told me she will get [name removed] all day she never answer the phone and never came out. When I finally got key and made a stink at the desk they change the price to 15 dollars, and then they charge me only $10 each

Keep your loved ones out of here.

Mother lived here since opening. Horrible experience in assisted living. Poor care, inaccurate medications, totally non-existent communications regarding care, unresponsive management, top concern is making money. Avoid the point system they use to charge you for services that other assisted living facilities provide as part of basic care. Night nursing crew is a joke! Food is tiny portions, often inedible. The looks are not what matters- the care is.

Tuesday’s you’ll get an email about “tasting tuesdays”. How about “lack of training Tuesday’s”? The staff and management at Heartis Arlington are ill equipped to handle and redirect. Do not be fooled by the nice facility, staff is all that matters!

It's a no from me

After much deliberation I moved my mom into The Heritage Tomball. It's a pretty building with a nice interior. The ladies at the desk are always nice and helpful. I would sit with my mom many times during lunch time. Some things I saw bothered me. Some of the wait staff are really rude to the community members. I've also heard the way the nurses talk to residents, in a condescending and impatient way. She got to talking with a few other residents who now all sit together in the dining hall (it was easy for her to make friends here which is a plus). She has heard a lot of talk about the a death of a resident due to neglect from the nurses on duty. I did end up moving her to a different facility after I found that out. On top of that we left for other reasons. The water turns off or the water heater stops working and the fire alarm goes off on a weekly basis. The food is sub-par. My mom would never complain though. I've had it a handful of times. It's basically glorified cafeteria food. And it's the same stuff rotated. We found the Heritage to have too many changes in such a short time. Too many directors come and go. And the cost of living there for the amenities is way too high in my opinion.

The building and amenities seem nice but the sales person was pushy and used scare tactics to try to get us to choose this place.

Stay away

Heartis Arlington is terrible. Look around before placing a loved on there. They harmed my mother mentally As well as with meds. The prescriptions had the wrong name and prescribers. The staff cannot de-escalate issues and in my opinion lacks proper training on protocols. Nice facility, however, don’t pick based on that as you will make a huge mistake. Pick based on a qualified staff and Heartis does not have that.

Think Twice. Call Me

My name is [name removed] and my cell phone number is [removed] so anyone that wants to talk to me before placing a loved one at Heartis can call. Too much to write here, however, you will be shocked at the terrible stories I can tell you about the treatment my mother received. I am starting the process of filing with the state of Texas ( I haven’t rushed as my mother was and is my first priority) as well as making my singular mission of ensuring what happened to my mother does not happen to others. I am a long time CEO of several large Arlington businesses and never give out my cell but this is so important to protect the public from similar abuses my mother experienced that I urge you to call me day or night. We have lots of options for our loved ones so make an informed choice before picking Heartis.

I enjoyed the place in fact was had made my reservation for respite care. Than 1 day before my stay I called to see what time I could bring mon in and was told that I didn't have a reservation they gave my room to someone else. Don't go here if your looking for respite care bad customer service.

Things aren't always as they seem.

My grandparents just moved into this place about three months ago. The free WiFi they have advertised never works because it is not owned by the center. Its owned by a nursing company which moved out. So now there is no free Wifi which is false advertising. If you don't get to the dinning room in time there are limited places to sit. My grandfather complains about the meals and that it is mostly rice. Probably to cut costs. For $3,000.00 a month they should at least have the WiFi working.

Apparently meals are not provided with the cottages. The pictures of floor plans provided on the website are difficult to determine size and features. Older facility--average age of resident's is 80--several over 100.

Better Activities

the Activity Director is unpleasant. The activity levels have went down. Every time i visit, residents are stuffed together watching cartoons. My Mom has been there a month,no pictures in her memory box,and her name is not even on the door. CNA's are always pleasant, thats the good part.
