This property has big problems. Revolving staff and bad management. Very little care of residents. They keep promising better things and fail on so many levels. It's the management and the director.

We removed our loved one from The Brennity at Melbourne and brought him home last [date removed]. I would never use them again. They are underrated, understaffed for the money they charge.

The day aides and med aides were mostly great. The DON of the build was clueless as to what goes on in the memory care unit. My dad was only there a very short time. In that time, he had multiple falls and weight loss. The DON argued with us on these subjects. Staff verified our observations. We actually put him on hospice to have added care. They also verified that on several occasions, they found him on the floor, and the staff was unaware. They also found him of a morning soaking wet and sometimes without clothes on. Several times, when we would be visiting, they would be unaware of our presence and neglect to deliver his food tray. I don't think his room was cleaned the whole time that he was there. There was a spill on the floor that was still there for weeks. His meds weren't given as ordered. If it wasn't for hospice, I don't know what would have happened to him. The DON or administrator never notified us of any of his falls or injuries. So, NO, I would never recommend this place to anyone. The people not on the memory unit I feel were taken better care of because they could voice their concerns. Our dad couldn't. As far as our family is concerned, the administrator and DON should be fired. The only time the DON was ever present on the unit was when she knew we were there or when she and the administrator were going out to the smoking area. We moved our dad ASAP.

My loved one has been at Brentwood about [dates removed]. I visited 2 weeks ago and was very upset at what was happening. It is NOT as presented to us by staff or online. There is NO transportation and has not had it for many months. There are NO activities. Advertised Wi-Fi is only in area by the office. Residents have to buy internet from the cable co at [fee removed] mo. To have it in the apartments and halls. A new company took over (5/22). On 5/23 the elevator stopped for a number of hours. No updates were given and no lunch was taken up to apartments. The van is still not working nor is there a driver. I have called but it was never returned. There is no help with dietary issues such as dairy choices for allergies or lactate nor for gluten free. Meal alternatives are a sandwich. If you can help the residents get compensation for their fraudulent sales tactics please help. Management at holiday and facility should be held accountable for lies.

Make sure you have your information in writing! My brother was there less than 24 hours before he passed. We had paid to join the facility and the 1st month. They refused to refund us any money and just kept giving us a run around!

My loved one was previously a resident at The Brennity at Melbourne Senior Living and the experience was not good. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this facility to others.

Based on the rules of this review, I will just say that the nursing staff acted in a very concerning manner. They kicked out a resident without notifying family first. That resident was dying. The nurse in charge (regional nurse) might want to go to med school if she wants to play doctor.

We visit a friend living in this community on a regular basis and just recently have been looking for assisted living for ourselves. On our recent visits we really looked at what goes on in the community to see if it could possibly be a fit for us. After closer examination, this community is led by narcissistic management that doesn't seem to genuinely care about their residents. My friend told me that she had brought a concern to the manager multiple times and he told her that if she is unhappy she can just leave, no looking for a solution, no compromise, nothing. There is inadequate staffing (you can never find anyone to help and after 5 pm you're lucky to find any workers at all), gross l living conditions (there is a smell of cat urine as soon as you open your car door in the parking lot and permeates through the halls, moldy and water damaged floorboards) and consequently subpar care. Ultimately we choose somewhere else.

Overall experience - Very poor, constant management turnover and the facility is in terrible shape. Constant water leaks and other sever facility issues. Cleanliness of the facility - the housekeeping team is severely understaffed and cannot do everyone's rooms as scheduled. Friendliness 3 overall the crew is mostly pleasant. Quality of care there is no care provided at this site. Food -most meals are edible but not anything I would recommend. Activities -these are actually pretty good. Poker and bingo. Value for the money- for the nearly 3k a month in rent, this facility is extremely overpriced, poorly run, and poorly maintained. I would not recommend this facility to anybody looking for a good value. Avoid this facility if you can find a better option. It is far too expensive for the service level provided. A section 8 apartment and paying a full time care taker is a better alternative if you can manage that.

Facility sold an d new owners have changed everything except the rent amounts. Food is terrible, no transportation, maintenance is slow. There has been a large turnover of facility staff. There was no hot water for 5 days, elevator was not operating an d eating place is on the upper floor.

Over the past 3 months under the new director: - Employees are not happy. - The food quality has dramatically declined from a 10 to a 2, and the portions are smaller. My mom ends up snacking in her room at night now because she's hungry again. - The nursing staff has been cut in size and now hours reduced. The Director over nursing is very difficult to work with and we get vmail more than actually talking to her, and rarely get a call returned. - Along with all these cuts in staff and food quality/portion, the rates have gone up! - The final straw was when the Activities Director turned in her notice. She has been holding the place together. She was amazing at her job and they didn't appreciate her. I would not recommend anyone moving their loved in here anymore. There are some sweet people on the nursing staff and I feel bad for them, I hope they can find somewhere where they are appreciated.

Instead of letting you know that your loved one is struggling and showing signs of a serious medical condition they prefer to let them languish. The director, the district manager ( who comments on here that they are ‘residents first’), and Human Resources will completely ignore you despite multiple calls/emails. They just say they’re too busy. There’s a new nurse every time I try to get ahold of one. Yep, they won’t call you back either. They don’t care one bit. Don’t move your loved one here. They just don’t care about anything but money.

My mother has been here for 7 years and each year benefits decline as does the condition of the property and quality of living. The place is constantly under construction and the noise is deafening. I tried to visit my mother from out of town and woke up at 8am to hammering for hours. Then there was contruction outside of the building as well! This has been going on for years. When you approach management they give you lip service and nothing changes. Today was the last straw. I spoke with [name removed]who has made it clear she doesn't like my mother. She was so rude I ended our conversation and left her office. I came back to see if [name removed] (director) was there. Lo and behold I hear Becky tell her coworker I am the daughter of (explicative) and she knew I was going to complain about the construction and she didn't want to hear it., I was standing right outside the door. WOW gross!

Sometimes they have two people to serve 55 people and it takes too long to get served I have complained about this but it falls on deaf ears. I realize I have all the time in the world but my butt gets sore from sitting too long'

We toured Elison of Bella Vita during our search for an Assisted Living facility for our loved one. Horrible staff. [Name removed] had scheduled our appointment and yet when we showed up, they had no clue. They were caught off guard. They had the maintenance man give us the tour. He was unable to answer our questions on anything. The facility smelled like urine and did not look clean at all. We couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Always understaffed. They can not keep any staff. Food is terrible. The Management there is incompetent. When you go to the director with concerns, he will tell you what you want to hear but doesn't fix any problems.

Alarms go off for hours with no response. I can count on one hand the number of times in 6 years I saw an employee after 7pm. Nutrition is a joke... fatten em up with the cheapest possible meals (pasta or a salad every day) and then tell them "your belly is too big". Their nurse saw my loved one at the hospital and after telling him he was dying refused his return to home. His dr found him fit for return, so it made no sense. After 6 years at $4000 a month, he was thrown out like the furniture they constantly upgrade. Paint and new flooring are never a substitute for a moral compass or decent care....SHAME ON YOU, DOGWOOD TRAILS

HarborChase of Wildwood was a lovely facility, but when we arranged admission it was with Hospice care. We were told the fee to join the Community would be waived. [name removed] was admitted one afternoon and passed away the next morning. They have not refunded the $[removed] fee to us!

When you read the bad reviews - BELIEVE THEM! When we were looking for a place for our parents, we read the reviews (which were NOT good) and gave them the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, every bad review was true! The cottage is beautiful however, we were promised many services that were supposedly included in the monthly payment, but ended up being add-ons. The carpet was old and worn and we were promised it would be replaced before move-in, however 6 months later when we finally decided to move out, it was still not replaced. The yard maintenance was only done occasionally and the weeding was never done. The grass grew so tall sometimes we had to call and ask them to mow! The minimal cleaning of the cottage was done and if the maids were ill, on vacation, or some other excuse - it was not done. We went 6 weeks without anyone coming to clean. We were so disappointed in so many ways and we wish we would have NEVER moved our parents to this facility.

The food has to get better it is absolutely horrible. For what the residents are paying to live there, then the cleaning staff needs to actually clean rooms. Not just come in and vacuum. The cost to live there is just not justifiable to live there. We moved my mom out after only 6 months. It was an absolutely horrible experience.
