New facility as of March, 2010. Prices 'start' at $2,600/mo

The floor plans were nice. The residents seems to be happy. The shorter hallways would be good for dad, mom and dad would love the patio that the rooms have I found it a bit pricey. The food that we had for lunch was not great and the portions were very small.

We had visited this one prior to the tour and decided due to the fact we had the information we needed and had seen it prior to not keep the apt. The staff was very nice and has been helpful since then.

Positives: Met with the director, - personable, knowledge, good facility. Level 2 care choice of size of room, Memory care on site. Skilled nursing care. Negatives: paid for skilled care not needed at this time in the room rate, Rates were daily(increase daily?)Too expensive, Services based on point system - was difficult to estimate total cost.

Loved the place. Not sure how good a fit it would be for my dad, he is so independent.

Location is 1.3 mi from wife's school. Is "assisted" living not independent. Content of website seems to hint that this may be a Christian based facility.

We loved the layout of the facility and apartments were very nice. Housekeeping did a great job of tidying up her room. Overall it was very clean other than the urine smell - that was very strong in the hallways and would linger into her room. We had some major issues with her not getting medications at the correct times or not getting them at all. They did not encourage her to do the activities as much as I thought that they would, but the staff were all very friendly. They were in the process of changing hands when my mom left. The food was hit or miss depending on the day, they had an alternate menu but it was not on the table so she never remembered. Overall if they would have done what we thought they would have, it would have been a great value for the money.

The building is super nice, the cleanliness of the community is great and the staff members are all very friendly and just as sweet as can be. However we were sold hard in the beginning and nothing is following through - it is not meeting up to really any expectations. We were told the meals were chef prepared and just amazing and they are awful. We were also told the activities were great and there is barely any even going on. Definitely room for improvement.

There has been a lot of turnover of staff members which leads to the food not being as good as it should, the medical attention not being as good as it should be, etc. They say they have a chef on staff, but the food that they are serving is not for seniors, it is a lot of frozen and fried foods which are not good for dietary restrictions.

We didn't care for the community. The assisted living had a smell and it smelled like a nursing home. The team member didn't keep in touch with us, and they didn't have availability for us either.

Management is out of touch with the needs of senior citizens. Their only concern is with how they can cut corners on the services they provide to us so they can give themselves “merit raises” and show a bigger profit. Our “chef” is given a bonus, not based on customer satisfaction, but on how much he can trim his expenses and feed us on less. So we get a lot of processed food. Canned fruit, canned vegetables, processed hamburger patties, meatballs, and meatballs. Actives are poorly planned, poorly executed, and at this time, dwindled down to nearly nonexistent.

The food here has improved since we got a new manager and head chef. Thanks very much for the help.

In the years I have been living here, we have been in constant transition, of one kind or another. However, most of the residents are and staff are so great, that we manage to overcome events such as: 3 months of "lockdown," with low nations, no activities, face masks, and no one in/no one out.

Landon Ridge was a clean and pretty facility. The food was good and the activities were good. It was nice a place if you were able to walk independently, but if you were in a position that you need assistance for toileting, or getting to meals or activities , they didn't do a good job of providing the services needed in a reasonable or timely manner. They just didn't have enough staff to provide the care needed. When COVID hit, my mother was on hospice, but they wouldn't let me visit with her. I hired 24 hour private caregivers , but they wouldn't let me see her or be one of her caregivers. Meanwhile, , the employees in the building were not even required to wear masks. The director said I could only have one visit with her before she passed away. I went ten days without seeing my mother when she was dying and needed her family most. After, having to go to appeal to upper management twice, I was finally allowed to see her the last three days. It was a heartbreaking and unfortunate experience

During my Mom's stay, one or more of the staff members stole her toilet paper during the times the facility was on lockdown for the flu season and Corona virus outbreak. We were promised it would be replaced, but it wasn't. Also, during her move out, some of the staff were very rude. But other than those incidents, it's a good place.

Even though this facility is nice and the staff (that they can keep around) is very good, the food is not good. Have been served burnt chicken, raw hamburgers recently. They can't seem to keep staff and they are always short staffed including nursing staff. We pay extra for medication management but they can't seem to let anyone know they are out of medicine until they are down to a day or two of having any left. You can register a complaint, but all you get are excuses. They same excuses all they time.

I was a resident of University for 90 days. I moved in after learning of it on the internet and having a personal tour. I was quite taken with the design of the facility and the 2 bedroom I chose to rent. I was present with appetizing pictures and delectable pictures which were anything but. My definition of independent living was not theirs. There were residents just doors from my apartment receiving hospice care. Had I known that, I would not have signed the rental agreement. The caregivers were seen placing urine-feces diapers in the trash receptacles located in the laundry room where residents do their personal laundry, creating hazardous conditions: the smell was horrific. There are roaches in the facility even after an extermination sprayed. There is no security. There is a resident who has a mental condition who wanders around the complex all hours of the day and night unable to sleep despite being on medication. Residents are heard yelling and crying for help day and night, making it difficult for others to rest and sleep. I witnessed 2 deceased hospice residents taken out of the facility. It was depressing to see that. I know I had make a mistake. I personally felt that the advertising was deceptive and the management team were not forthcoming with what was happening there. I would like to get my $2,000 community fee back. I would would not recommend University Oaks to anyone. On a scale of one to ten, I would recommend a five. Two residents received serious injuries due to falls.

The food is on a scale of 1-10 only about a 5! ! My parents do not eat all their meals everyday and they now want to charge when we visit them if we eat a meal. This is not right, then give us a credit back when they don't eat all their meals ! Yet the staff eats for free everyday! The cleaning which is included in the rent is terrible! Many of the residents know and have said something to management but nothing has been done about it! The dining wait staff is not always helpful or friendly.

What they tell you prior to signing the lease is not what is exactly happening after the lease is signed. They changed things. Also the cleaning services they promise are NOT good at all. All the residence know cleaning is terrible but they don't do anything about it. The management staff is not listening. The food is not that good on a scale of 1-10 (10 being the best) the food is about a rating of a 5. The wait staff in the dining room some are friendly some have attitudes like they are doing you a favor and yet your are the paying customer! They do not offer to help or go out of their way at all. They have elected now to charge visitors for a meal and the meals are not worth it, especially when the family members living there DO NOT eat all three meals everyday so why should they have to pay once in awhile for a visitor meal! They talk a good game in the beginning when you are looking at places but the follow up on services need work.
